My family and I so loved staying at Halloran House in Galveston! It's beautiful and is absolutely perfect for a family with grown children to spend time. The house had everything we needed - from linens to a kitchen stocked with all needed for baking and preparing meals. The 4 bedrooms with 4 baths offered us comfort and privacy. The location was out of the mainstream of busy Galveston proper, which was quite pleasant. We loved the decks that overlooked the Gulf and grounds of Pointe West. The short distance to the beach worked out so nicely for walks or longer play in the sand. Someone met up upon arrival, oriented us about the facility, the complex, and Galveston. This was all quite helpful and was a nice welcoming committee of one! The water was too cold to swim when we visited, but my family took advantage of the hot tub at the Beach Club. Tre and Clem, the Beach Club managers, were delightfully accommodating...so wanting to please. We participated in a marshmallow roast our first night in Galveston that Clem hosted, enjoying the event so much that we had a bonfire and cook out on our own at one of the three fire pits the last night we stayed. We were very taken with Galveston...the beaches were plentiful and impressive, even in December. The downtown area was interesting, the Christmas light display enjoyable, and we loved Moody Mansion. The Halloran House in Galveston was a great place to spend the holidays...and I feel certain it would be a wonderful place to visit any time of the year!Did you find this review helpful? This house was perfect for our family. Everything we needed was there. We were within walking distance of the beach a short drive to the 2 amazing pools. The Pointe West Beach community was everything I dreamed it was. Everything was very clean and we had a wonderful time. We just returned from a great vacation in this terrific home! We loved the location as the porches face the east and look straight down and across one of the lagoons. All but one of our kids came and all 4 of the grandchildren were there. The beach, which is without a doubt the very best in all of west beach,was a short walk or an even shorter drive to the dune walk-over. There are lots of beach toys in the storage room downstairs as well as a couple of intertubes which are perfect for the lazy river pool. Speaking of pools, the infinity edge pool at the club house is beautiful but the lazy river pool is the best. It is not huge but there is palm tree shade, lots of chairs and chaise lounges (never all taken) and tables. We took picnic lunches or snacks with us and that pool was a delightful way to cool down after time at the beach! The house itself is absolutely great! When my boys were growing up, we rented beach houses all over Sea Isle and Tarramar. Some were better than others but most had uncomfortable or extremely uncomfortable living room furniture. One house we always liked had living room furniture that was so uncomfortable we hated sitting in it. The furniture in this home is very, very nice. The coffee table has 4 little ottomen chairs that pull out which was perfect for the grandkiddos or for adults to prop up their tired feet.The couches are very comfy and one pulls out into a queensize sleeper. The dining room table will seat 10 if you squeeze every one in! The beds are, frankly, as nice as you would have in your own home. One of my sons has a temperpedic and he was dreading missing it. He said their bed was every bit as comfortable as their "gucci" one at home. The porches are very large. The one off the living area has a nice gas grill, two tables and lots of chairs. We loved the white rockers the most! The porch off the master also has lots of seating. The master and master bath are extremely nice-almost too nice for the beach!! There is also a lot of seating under the beach house on the patio area. The shower down there even has hot water! I did a lot of cooking for the "crew" and this kitchen is the best equipped that we have ever stayed in. There are tvs in every bedroom as well as the living area so everyone could chill out in different places and watch what they wanted. There are a lot of home rentals to choose from in Pointe West but this one has to be one of the best. We stayed at this house in March 2010 when the weather in Galveston is so great! My daughter was 20 months old and our friends joined us for one night with their 2 young kids. Everyone had a great time and we had plenty of room. The house has great furnishings, the typical nice stainless steel and granite countertops you get in Pointe West, excellent paint and molding. A fantastic master bedroom and great other rooms with plush beds and comfy, high quality bed linens. I cooked 3 separate meals while at the house and found everything I needed (though I do bring my own chef's knife). The owner left a nice note and a beach bucket for my daughter. We enjoyed taking her to Moody Gardens and walking on the beach. Very nice home and would be happy to return!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

Our group had a wonderful time at this very comfortable and easy to access beach house in Galveston. The owners were wonderfully accommodating, the house was clean, comfortable, well furnished, well stocked with needed items for a comfortable stay, and very tastefully decorated. We especially loved the upper and lower outdoor balconies, one off of the livingroom, and a lovely balcony off of the master bedroom that overlooks a small lake with a fountain with a view of the ocean beyond the dunes. Great kitchen! We will be sure to stay here again in the future.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We found this house to be very warm and liveable, there was plenty of room for lounging and relaxing. The beach was close and easily accessible. The amenities were were nice as well, we enjoyed leaving the beach and heading to the pool! The house was well furnished and updated. This is a great place to stay especially if you have multiple families or a large family!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We all totally enjoyed your home in celebrating one guest's 50th birthday! We found the home just as was described in the write-up. It was extremely neat and clean, and the beds were all very comfortable. We had just a 5 min. scenic walk to the beach, which itself was quite clean and well maintained on this cold weekend. We took a day trip to the Strand, where we visited the shops, watched a cruise ship depart, and had a great dinner. We BBQ'd hamburgers on the grill one evening on the balcony. We had all the necessary items supplied to thoroughly enjoy our stay. When not at the beach or in town, we enjoyed the many football games on the big screen TV. We hope to visit the Hollaran House again, perhaps during a warmer month! Thank you!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

We stayed here for a week during Thanksgiving since family was coming from out of town and wanted to have a break for all of us. It had all the things we needed and every thing was clean and in good condition. We had a great time. The club house was really great with access to the Gym, pool, beach etc. The only thing I will let future renters be aware of is at this time of the year the Mosquitoes can be bad at times particularly if there is light breeze and be prepared to bring the necessary repellenats. Perfect get away home !Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car.

This is a very nice, clean, well equipped house with everything you need for an extended stay at the beach. The owners of the house even make available their beach toys (buckets, boogie boards, chairs) which the kids loved. It is a true home away from home experience and we will be coming back again. There are two large covered porches that are perfect for kicking back in the evening and watching the sun set. The house is close to the main Point West pool area too.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

We had a great time at the Halloran House. The house was just like the add said. Capt. Bob met us upon our arrival and answered any questions we had and then it was off to the beach. There is a small grocery store 7 miles away where we stocked up on the small stuff then it was off to the beach. We brought all of our own beach toys for the kids but if you don't there is a closet on the first floor with everything you might need to keep them entertained, boogie boards, toys, even a couple umbrellas and beach chairs. It was simple to register at the reception area for Pointe West and we scouted out the big pool but ended up taking the kids to the lazy river which they loved. It's not a huge lazy river but it had plenty of shade. There were 10 of us there and we had plenty of room the kids piled in the downstairs room and watched movies 'til they passed out. We have no complaints and will call the next time we head to Galveston. Thanks.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

The house was wonderful and a perfect place for a Mom's get-away weekend. It has enough bedrooms and bathrooms so no one had to sleep in the living area, nor on the top of a bunk bed. Although, the (2) advertised queen beds are actually double size. It was very nicely decorated and we were provided with little travel sized toiletires in each bathroom, games, etc. It was a very quite area considering the close proximity to other houses. The Pointe West development is nice and well maintained, but quite spread out. The pools and especially the lazy river are overrated (but good for younger kids) and require a car drive from this location. The owner was excellent to work with and the paperwork so much easier than dealing with a rental agency. We will definetly consider staying here again.Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a very pleasant stay in what I would call a real home away from home! Beautifully appointed and very comfortable with all of the creature comforts you seek while you're away! A quick walk to a very clean and quiet beach was a twice a day ritual! You can catch a bit of sunrise and total sunset from this house! Simply lovely!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

The Hallorans graciously accommodated my kids and I on short notice. The house is fantastic: large and comfortable. The beach is a short walk and Pointe West's Beach Club Pool area is a very short drive. The house is perfect for even a large family, very kid-friendly!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family loved this house and its proximity to the beach. The house was big enough to accomodate 6 adults and 6 six kids, and the amenities were really nice. Kids loved catching crabs in the pond, as welll as the lazy river pool. We'll be coming back!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

Had my family in town over the 4th of July and decided to rent this property and experience the Pointe West Community. This home was truely amazing and met our needs for a family vacation. The home is convienently located in Pointe West and the owner is excellent to work with. I would recomend this home to anyone looking to get away for a nice relaxing break from the rat race of every day life. Pointe West is definately a top notch resort community that we all enjoyed. My family and I look forward to visiting again. Wish we could have stayed another week!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway.

We used the house for our church staff retreat and it was a great experience. The layout of the house allowed us to be incredibly comfortable during our meetings as well as having plenty of private space. It's location allows the beach goers and fishermen to both find satisfaction. Cooking out at the club house was a great bonus! I have stayed at this property several times and always had a great experience. A great location to be around people at the pool or private beach or just sit on the porch and enjoy some peace and quiet. The house is immaculate and has great amenities. Always clean, well-kept, and the staff has always been very helpful.
