Swim at Southwick Beach or Sandy Pond Beach, both on Lake Ontario. Each is clean and has facilities. Southwick has a playground and picnic area. Across Sandy Pond is a huge sand dune that lies between Sandy Pond and Lake Ontario. The Nature Conservancy owns the sand dune. They protected it with beach grasses and a boardwalk that allows foot traffic to pass from the Sandy Pond side of the dune to the Lake Ontario side. A bird sanctuary has been established north of the main beach. With a boat you can motor over to boaters beach and enjoy the fine sand and seemingly endless Lake Ontario beach. The Sandy Pond side of boaters beach is outstanding and many people water ski from there. The Lake Ontario side gently slopes making for gradual depth, which is great for swimming. Boaters beach is a truly special beach to enjoy.

North Sandy Pond is located in beautiful Upstate NY, a quick 30 minute drive north of Syracuse and only 30 minutes from the Canadian border! It is located in one of the most pristine areas in NY. Henderson and Sacketts Harbor are the closest villages. There you will find quaint shops, great restaurants, and antiques and craft shops and liquor stores! For the War of 1812 history buff, there is plenty to do and see. Enjoy fishing, boating, sailing, hiking, and nature. There is something for everyone!

Ok pictures do not tell everything. I think that cottage is much nicer in person. It was very peaceful & relaxing.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities.
Owner response: The cottage is very peaceful and relaxing. We put a lot of upgrades in the home to make it very comfortable. It is nice with the new carpeting and fresh paint. The new appliances are a great feature. We recently put a new floor in the bathroom too so that is upgraded as well. We are happy that the renters enjoy our cute, cozy cottage and hope they return over and over again! Thank you.

Place is everything says it is! Great view, super close to the water, waterfowl to watch, and would be a great place to bring your kayak. Our dogs loved it.Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Had a great time at your cottage very comfy. Woke up to lots of snow something we don't see very often. Would love to come back and experience the summer or early fall.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

The cottage was great, very clean and accomadating. It is a small cottage but the space does not seem crowded for a family of 5 plus a dog. We fell in love with Lake Ontario and hope to spend many more summers up there.Recommended for: Pet owners, families with young children.

We can't say enough good things about renting this cabin. It was clean and matched the description perfectly. The renting process went very smoothly. It was easy to get in touch with the owners and they were very friendly and flexible. Overall wonderful experience. The pictures do not do this cottage justice. Many upgrades...Very cozy and comfortable with the knotty pine..I love the windows .. so many.. bright and airy..View of the Sandy Pond couldn't be more perfect. Best cottage on the water by far. The neighbors feed the birds and you will see plenty that you don't normally see...The pond water level was very low due to the dry summer but fishing was still fun and always caught something. Owners are very responsive and easy to talk to. Deck is spacious and overlooks Sandy Pond. Anyone looking for a getaway.. this is simply perfect. Cant say enough good things..I have rented several places... and this by far...was the best. Looking forward to returning next year.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Modern & clean upon check in. No problems during our stay. Cuddle up in front of the fire pit & enjoy. Bring your GPS to find your way back in the dark. Close enough for some Salmon fishing & our favorite restaurant is Sandy Creek SteakhouseRecommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway.

Our very relaxing 3 day stay at Sandy Creek was so enjoyable that we would like to come back next year. The cottage is clean and convenient. The view is wonderful and the facilities are made for anyone who is handicapped, as was my husband. Thank you very much for the great opportunity to have a few days off from the trials and tribulations of a working couple who are trying to enjoy semi-retirement!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a wonderful time at this little slice of heaven. The cabin is far enough away from traffic and noise, but not to far from fun and food. My kids loved the dock and fire pit.Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This cabin is truely a little slice of heaven. My family really enjoyed there time on the lake. It is far enough away from noise and traffic, but not to far from fun and food. It is a great place to kick back relax and enjoy the veiw!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children.

About the owner: My husband and I started going to Upstate NY to snowmobile. While riding on our 'sleds' with our 3 sons, we drove by many different towns and communities. We passed through 'Sandy Creek' and fell in love with the beauty of the Sandy Pond area. We immediately started our vacation cottage search and found our adorable waterfront cottage, which we improved with all new appliances, fresh paint, carpeting. In 2007, a new bathroom went in! We decided to share our find with others and listed it for rent. Our cottage has booked every Summer since! We keep the rent reasonable and our vacationers come back year after year! For 2013, enjoy these upgrades: new roof, new siding and new windows. We put our rental money back into the cottage for your enjoyment and pleasure and it is truly the most amazing cottage on the pond.
Why the Owner Chose Sandy Creek:
We chose Sandy Pond area because of the beauty of the area. We absolutely love being on the water and enjoying the sunsets each evening. We also love to have a fire by the pond. There is a 'bon fire' stone pit which is set up year round for our vacationers to use while they stay at our cottage. Ice fishing is extremely popular during the winter months. Please consider spending a week in our cottage during the winter time and enjoy how peaceful and beautiful the water transforms.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
The unique benefits of being on Sandy Pond, is that there is a GOLF COURSE within walking distance to our cottage. We can enjoy golfing and then come back for a swim in the pond. We go on our boat to Lake Ontario and ride to Thousand Islands and the Saint Lawrence River. It is so magical there. We love taking trips to Canada too, which is less than one hour by boat! There are many restaurants to stop at in Henderson Harbor or Sackets Harbor to eat and lots of liquor stores too! For your enjoyment, we have also decided to include a small row boat. If you have a motor, please feel feel to bring it along and use it with our boat!
