Beautiful, 5 star Cape Cod beachfront home on the beautiful, emerald-green crystal clear waters of the Gulf coast. You will sink your feet into white powdery sand that is just gorgeous and all yours for your vacation pleasure.
This beach cottage has a white picket fence in the front yard with beautiful flowers blooming and swaying palm trees! It is beautifully appointed and has been updated with new furnishings, paint and decorations.
It features triple crown molding in all rooms, travertine or marble tile on all floors, and granite on all counter tops throughout. Beautifully done! Our home has wooden window blinds,vertical blinds, and living room drapes for added beauty.
Guests will enjoy a large living/dining/kitchen open area with complete ocean viewing!
There is a large flat screen plasma HD/TV with surround sound in the living area. There is a separate tuner and cd and dvd player with living area speakers and balcony exterior speakers. There are lots of movies and cd's provided for the family to enjoy, and plenty of comfortable seating for lots of people. HBO and Family cable features if provided for guests. The sectional has a queen sleeper, and when the cushions are removed from the other side of the couch, it makes a full size twin bed. The high speed and wireless routers are located in the living area.
The large kitchen has a bar that seats 3, a round table for 4, and a separate dining area for fine dining is located in the living area. The kitchen is always a gatering spot, and you will be enjoying a huge kitchen complete with all amenities. Truly a must if you enjoy cooking and plan to eat a few meals at home!
There are two gulf front master bedrooms, each with a king bed.
One is downstairs and has a large tv with a separate dvd and vcr player. There is a loveseat in this master that is suitable for a small child to use as a bed. This master has a bathroom that has a small transom window with for watching the ocean as you shower! It has a rain shower and a wall shower, but no tub.
The other bedroom downstairs has a queen bed with a fully rotable 20 inch flat screen with dvd player built in. There is a full size crib in this room. It has a private entrance to a bath that has a tub/shower. It is not gulf front, but you have a complete view of the ocean from it's bay window.
The upstairs master has it's own private balcony and a 32 inch flat screen with built in dvd player. It also has only a large tiled shower in the bath, but no tub. There is also a loveseat in this master that would be suitable for a small child to use as a bed, if desired.
The other gulf front bedroom upstairs was designed with children or teens in mind. It has one queen and one double bed plus a twin roller bed, so 5 people can easily sleep in this room. It also has a fully movable 20 inch tv with built in dvd player. It's tiled and marbled bath also has a shower, but no tub.
There is a gas grill for outdoor cooking. You will enjoy two teak tables, chairs for eating outside with cushions that match the ocean's beautiful green color. And, of course, lots of chaises and rockers for your sunning and viewing pleasure. Plus, there are two beach umbrellas and 4 beach chairs set up for you each morning on your private beach.
There are two balconies for beach-side viewing and sunning, and there is also a large covered porch on the lower level with an outdoor, private shower. There is room for sunning in chaise lounges on this level, or enjoying a sunfree covered porch with a swing and enough tables and chairs to seat over 20 people.
You are within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Kayak, bike, and scooter rentals are directly across the street. There is a convenience store just steps away, a pizza place and beach store also located across the street. And, if you want wonderful gourmet coffees, step across the street to the Bad Ass Cafe...Wonderful place for breakfast, or walk down the beach to the Whale's Tail for breakfast or lunch. The largest upscale outlet mall in the country is less than two miles away as well as two grocery stores, drug stores, etc.
You will fall in love with this two story adorable beach cottage and want to call it your own. Just a few stairs to climb in the home so it is perfect for small kids and elderly. Owners live in Destin and are always only a phone call away to assist you. You will never want to leave this precious cottage!!! We provide all guests with our personal recommendations of restaurants and activites to enjoy.
This is a no smoking, pet free home. Up to 5 large cars or suv's can park; 4 in the paved driveway, and one in front of the house.
We also own and rent the 5 bedroom 4 bath home next door..listing 30228...Ideal to rent both for large reunions!!!! You may use the pool directly across the street. This pool is for guests of our beach homes; (called 'Clearview'). And, you may use the pools from our vrbo listing 30231! Please go to that listing to read the descriptions of the pools and surrounding areas. (This pool is not within walking distance of the beach homes, but you can easily spend a day there.

Why the Owner Chose Private Homes
My husband and I were flying to Hawaii for a vacation 11 years ago, and United Airlines had a big spread in their magazine about the Emerald Coast of Florida.. I grew up in Atlanta, Ga and had never even heard of the Emerald Coast as my parents were not beach lovers. When we returned I flew to Destin with the intention of buying a small condo IF the beach and surroundings were as described in the article.. Within a day, I called my husband to tell him I had found the perfect retirement spot for which we had been searching for several years! We bought 24559 first, and I spent 3 incredibly wonderful winters there until we moved down full time and built our retirement home. The rest is history.. We starting acquiring beautiful properties as investments to rent out. I loveeee decorating and doing all the things I think our guest's need to ensure they have wonderful experiences. We wouldn't live any other place in the world! It is a gorgeous little piece of Heaven!
The Unique Benefits at this House
We host a sibbling reunion each year at our two beach homes, and always experience incredibly beautiful memories. My sister and I were sitting on the balcony of 24559 at sunset about 2 years ago and saw the 'green flash'! It was incredible to witness!!! It was over so quickly, but for years we had read books that referenced the 'green flash' but never knew if it was really true.. Well, it is!! (Of course, the rest of the sibblings and our spouses insist we had had one glass of wine too many!!!) The beach here is unlike any other in the world.. beautiful pure white powdery sand made from ice crystals and crystal clear emerald green waters.. incredible restaurants and wonderfullll people.. it is a wonderfulllll vacation spot!!!

I am Bev Monaco, and my husband is John. We retired to Destin 11 years ago and wouldn't dream of living anywhere else. We just love it here! John still works full time but helps me with the rentals on the weekend.. We have a full time handyman who makes sure our properties are kept in tip top shape. We insist on making sure our guests have incredibly wonderful vacations when they stay in any of our properties! We are very much hand's on with our guest's needs.

Our family had a wonderful time during our stay at your beach home. Having a crib and highchair for our 6 month old grandson made his time at the beach a pleasant experience, especially for his parents. We even used the portable crib for him to take naps on the deck below. Our 6 year old grandson enjoyed the swing and especially the beach and ocean. It was crystal clear during our stay this year and we didn't even have any sea weed on the beach. Thank you for sharing your fun beach home. We were too busy and tired at the end of the day to watch a movie or play a game but it is great to have them available in case of a rainy day.

After 2 years at Cape Monaco, I booked too late to get a reservation and had to stay in another rental home. It was very nice, and probably typical of houses in the same category as Cape Monaco, yet during the course of our stay my family and I found ourselves frequently lamenting many of the features that makes Cape Monaco extra special and I felt compelled to highlight them here. - Truly feels like a friend's home and not a rental. The solid furnishings, the beautiful trim-out of the home, the kitchen stocked with every cooking and serving provision you could possibly want, the nice bedding and plethora of towels, the crib and high chair, the nicer televisions, movies. Really everything you could ask for. - The balconies. The layout, solid wood, padded furnishings, and greater than average shaded area made for a perfect outdoor living space. The patio at the place we stayed this year was roughly the same area, but not as well appointed and sadly I found that the family ended up spending more time in the living room than on the balcony. And in the case of rain, Cape Monaco has a fantastic patio where you can sill enjoy outdoors. Not to mention the enormous lower deck with the porch swing and walk in shower (great for washing the sand out of your swimsuit). Few houses on the beach can compare to the outdoor comfort and practicality. - The location. There are no condos across the street from Cape Monaco. This would not have occurred to me to look for as a feature, but it makes a big difference. The beach is so much cleaner and less crowded as a result. Further, in place of condos across the street, there are several useful shops within a very short walk. Large beach store, convenience store, ice cream shop, coffee shop, etc. Most places will not have such a variety of shops practically across the street. One can also walk to both Pompano Joe's and Whale's Tail for food or beach rentals without being too close to the public beach crowds. - Service - both years we were there, Bev personally stopped by to ensure our every need was met. Cape Monaco is perfect for a truly special beach vacation!

My family are "beach people"!! We have gone to Destin for the last 10 years and have finally found our beach home!! The Cape is one of the loveliest, well maintained homes, both in and out, we have ever rented. When you walk in you can tell the owners are special as they want to ensure you have everything you need and that you have a great time. So many times you see pictures of a place and when you get there it is not the same. Please know that the pictures of the Cape are representative of what you will live in during your stay. We absolutely adore the spacious first floor for our family gatherings and the two porches are loved by all--particularly the rockers in the morning with a cup of coffee. The wireless capability is a must for our family as 2 weeks requires keeping in touch with work--but what a view as you work--waves and grandchildren playing!! Our children and grandchildren love the beach which is right outside our door and they look forward to the family's Destin vacation every year. Our beach home is Cape Monaco and we plan on going back!!

My family recently rented this home as well as vrbo 30228 (which are right next to each other). This home was absolutely beautiful. Very nice place for a family with children to stay, as there were plenty of beds and bathrooms, plus an open floor plan. Location was perfect... just a few steps to the private beach!! I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to vacation in Florida. The owners were also very helpful in recommending places to go and things to do in Destin.

We stayed at this property for a week this year and will be returning in 2012. The owners have done an excellent job of equipping and maintaining this property. Because we are traveling with small children, the high chair and cribs were "langiappe" for us and one more thing we didn't need to pack! Although we had beautiful weather for the duration of our stay, the covered deck was great for late afternoons when we wanted to get the children out of the sun. We highly recommend this property for both the property itself and the location. Cathy

The property was as described and the photos accurately reflected the rental's appearance and amenities. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Destin this year, in spite of the oil spill and beach being closed the majority of our vacation. It was nice to have such close access to the beach and to be able to let the kids roam while sitting on the porch. Even when the beach was closed, we were far enough away that we could still hang out on the beach some without having to worry about getting too close to the water and contamination. In light of the situation, we were also able to enjoy several of the pools you offered, which helped keep the kids entertained. The house was very nicely maintained and well equipped with just about anything you could need to make it a "homey" stay. We enjoyed watching movies and just sitting on the porch at night and watching the lightning far off. We had 13 people in all, one of which was a baby, and it easily accomodated our needs, space and otherwise. It was also very conveniently located to retail, grocery and restaurants. Your "customer service" was outstanding!! Any time we called with an issue, it was taken care of right away and we feel you graciously accomodated us for the inconvenience of the beach closure. What an AWESOME vacation! This house was great. Everything you could want in a vacation home. The kitchen is fully stocked. We loved the fact that there was a crib and a highchair. That made our lives much easier. The week was perfect, not a drop of rain. We love the decks! They are perfect for the morning cup of coffee or tea. We sat out there every morning watching the dolphins swim by. This was truly a great place to stay. Thank you!

This was my second year in a row renting Cape Monaco. Once again it was absolutely perfect - I'm convinced it's the best rental on the beach. Not sure any other place can boast the same multitude of amenities. - Kitchen is stocked with everything you could want. Last year a previous renter had obviously mixed up the blender top with their own - so the top did not fit. Bev had a new blender out within hours. - Beds/bedding is very comfortable. With the 2 cribs, cot, sofa bed, you can easily sleep 4 couples and a horde of children. - Covered decks offer ample shade and shelter on a rainy day. It rained all day one day we were here, and most of our neighbors were not able to lounge and eat outdoors like we were. - In addition to the outdoor shower on the steps, there is an enclosed shower on the lower deck that extremely handy for the kids (or adults) to wash the sand out of their swimsuits. - Porch swing on huge lower deck is a great feature. - Lots of floats and sand toys - TV/DVD players in every room - Lots of towels, and beautiful bathrooms. I could go on and on! My family will never stay anywhere else in Destin.

Awesome house, great location, wonderful vacation! We have stayed here the last three years and highly recommend it to everyone. The house is well maintained and has everything you could want, we really enjoy the outside patios.
