We have found our perfect beach home! This house has everything you need! This is our second time staying at Cape Monaco and we love it. We stayed next door at Essence last year because this one was already booked so we booked early this year. The decor and furnishings are lovely and it is very clean and well maintained. It is directly on the beach with lots of outdoor furniture to enjoy on the decks. Each bedroom has its own bath and very comfortable beds! We had 7 adults and it was very spacious. We highly recommend this property - you won't be disappointed!

I just wanted to send you a quick note and tell you how much we enjoyed staying in Cape Monaco (#24559) last week. The house was absolutely perfect and beautiful. We all enjoyed every minute of the entire stay. I wanted to also pass on how great your handyman and his wife are who live across the street. We had two small issues (and I mean small) that he took care of within an hour and one on Easter morning. The outdoor refrigerator stopped working and a toilet had a small problem both of which he took care of. When we arrived he informed me to just let him know of any problems and not bother you which I thought worked out great. Again, Bev, I just wanted you to know what a great time we had and how nice it was to work with you. We have rented homes quite often on vacations and this was by far the smoothest it had gone. The 4 adults in the house all think you should take new photos of the house for your website because the current ones don’t really capture how beautiful and spacious it is. Thanks again Bev and I can promise you we will be back and we all hope Cape Monaco is available for our stay.

Incredible vacation home

I'm already missing Destin and this beautiful home right on the beach!! There isn't anything you could want for if you stay at this house. Four beach chairs and 2 umbrellas delivered each morning and picked up in the afternoon, on your very own private part of the beach. The outside of this incredible home offers a covered deck off of the living area, an uncovered deck off of the master suite upstairs, and huge area on the bottom level that is mostly covered, however, does have lounge chairs in an uncovered portion. On the bottom outside level there is a nice private shower and a full size refrigerator, so you don't have to take a heavy cooler to the beach! The front of the house is gorgeous! Right out of a magazine! Gorgeous!! The whole house is beautiful! The decor throughout is stylish AND comfortable! The kitchen has everything your home has in it! The bathrooms are great!! I could shower and watch the ocean!!! There are no negative words to say about this incredible beach house! You can walk to Pompano Joe's, Whales Tail, Badass Cafe, and there's a gas station right down the road for the extras you forgot at the grocery! Whenever I return to Destin, this is where I will and want to stay!!

Bev, we had hoped to do an extended stay in 2013, but we unfortunately, will be unable to. But, I wanted to thank you again for the wonderful vacation we spent last October. We all thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it, and hated to say good bye. We would walk to the 'Whale's Tail' during lunch and have appetizers; Our granddaughter, (only grandchild), was sitting with us one day and I could see she was in deep thought and suddenly she said, "I could get used to this life"; We loved it all, including your lovely home, so I just wanted to thank you again!

Wonderful Family Beach week

Our family had a wonderful time during our stay at your beach home. Having a crib and highchair for our 6 month old grandson made his time at the beach a pleasant experience, especially for his parents. We even used the portable crib for him to take naps on the deck below. Our 6 year old grandson enjoyed the swing and especially the beach and ocean. It was crystal clear during our stay this year and we didn't even have any sea weed on the beach. Thank you for sharing your fun beach home. We were too busy and tired at the end of the day to watch a movie or play a game but it is great to have them available in case of a rainy day.

My family are "beach people"!! We have gone to Destin for the last 10 years and have finally found our beach home!! The Cape is one of the loveliest, well maintained homes, both in and out, we have ever rented. When you walk in you can tell the owners are special as they want to ensure you have everything you need and that you have a great time. So many times you see pictures of a place and when you get there it is not the same. Please know that the pictures of the Cape are representative of what you will live in during your stay. We absolutely adore the spacious first floor for our family gatherings and the two porches are loved by all--particularly the rockers in the morning with a cup of coffee. The wireless capability is a must for our family as 2 weeks requires keeping in touch with work--but what a view as you work--waves and grandchildren playing!! Our children and grandchildren love the beach which is right outside our door and they look forward to the family's Destin vacation every year. Our beach home is Cape Monaco and we plan on going back!!

My family recently rented this home as well as vrbo 30228 (which are right next to each other). This home was absolutely beautiful. Very nice place for a family with children to stay, as there were plenty of beds and bathrooms, plus an open floor plan. Location was perfect... just a few steps to the private beach!! I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to vacation in Florida. The owners were also very helpful in recommending places to go and things to do in Destin.

We stayed at this property for a week this year and will be returning in 2012. The owners have done an excellent job of equipping and maintaining this property. Because we are traveling with small children, the high chair and cribs were "langiappe" for us and one more thing we didn't need to pack! Although we had beautiful weather for the duration of our stay, the covered deck was great for late afternoons when we wanted to get the children out of the sun. We highly recommend this property for both the property itself and the location. Cathy

What an AWESOME vacation! This house was great. Everything you could want in a vacation home. The kitchen is fully stocked. We loved the fact that there was a crib and a highchair. That made our lives much easier. The week was perfect, not a drop of rain. We love the decks! They are perfect for the morning cup of coffee or tea. We sat out there every morning watching the dolphins swim by. This was truly a great place to stay. Thank you!

Best house on the beach!

This was my second year in a row renting Cape Monaco. Once again it was absolutely perfect - I'm convinced it's the best rental on the beach. Not sure any other place can boast the same multitude of amenities. - Kitchen is stocked with everything you could want. Last year a previous renter had obviously mixed up the blender top with their own - so the top did not fit. Bev had a new blender out within hours. - Beds/bedding is very comfortable. With the 2 cribs, cot, sofa bed, you can easily sleep 4 couples and a horde of children. - Covered decks offer ample shade and shelter on a rainy day. It rained all day one day we were here, and most of our neighbors were not able to lounge and eat outdoors like we were. - In addition to the outdoor shower on the steps, there is an enclosed shower on the lower deck that extremely handy for the kids (or adults) to wash the sand out of their swimsuits. - Porch swing on huge lower deck is a great feature. - Lots of floats and sand toys - TV/DVD players in every room - Lots of towels, and beautiful bathrooms. I could go on and on! My family will never stay anywhere else in Destin.

After 2 years at Cape Monaco, I booked too late to get a reservation and had to stay in another rental home. It was very nice, and probably typical of houses in the same category as Cape Monaco, yet during the course of our stay my family and I found ourselves frequently lamenting many of the features that makes Cape Monaco extra special and I felt compelled to highlight them here. - Truly feels like a friend's home and not a rental. The solid furnishings, the beautiful trim-out of the home, the kitchen stocked with every cooking and serving provision you could possibly want, the nice bedding and plethora of towels, the crib and high chair, the nicer televisions, movies. Really everything you could ask for. - The balconies. The layout, solid wood, padded furnishings, and greater than average shaded area made for a perfect outdoor living space. The patio at the place we stayed this year was roughly the same area, but not as well appointed and sadly I found that the family ended up spending more time in the living room than on the balcony. And in the case of rain, Cape Monaco has a fantastic patio where you can sill enjoy outdoors. Not to mention the enormous lower deck with the porch swing and walk in shower (great for washing the sand out of your swimsuit). Few houses on the beach can compare to the outdoor comfort and practicality. - The location. There are no condos across the street from Cape Monaco. This would not have occurred to me to look for as a feature, but it makes a big difference. The beach is so much cleaner and less crowded as a result. Further, in place of condos across the street, there are several useful shops within a very short walk. Large beach store, convenience store, ice cream shop, coffee shop, etc. Most places will not have such a variety of shops practically across the street. One can also walk to both Pompano Joe's and Whale's Tail for food or beach rentals without being too close to the public beach crowds. - Service - both years we were there, Bev personally stopped by to ensure our every need was met. Cape Monaco is perfect for a truly special beach vacation!

The property was as described and the photos accurately reflected the rental's appearance and amenities. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Destin this year, in spite of the oil spill and beach being closed the majority of our vacation. It was nice to have such close access to the beach and to be able to let the kids roam while sitting on the porch. Even when the beach was closed, we were far enough away that we could still hang out on the beach some without having to worry about getting too close to the water and contamination. In light of the situation, we were also able to enjoy several of the pools you offered, which helped keep the kids entertained. The house was very nicely maintained and well equipped with just about anything you could need to make it a "homey" stay. We enjoyed watching movies and just sitting on the porch at night and watching the lightning far off. We had 13 people in all, one of which was a baby, and it easily accomodated our needs, space and otherwise. It was also very conveniently located to retail, grocery and restaurants. Your "customer service" was outstanding!! Any time we called with an issue, it was taken care of right away and we feel you graciously accomodated us for the inconvenience of the beach closure. We have been renting in Destin for close to 10 years and this year we found our “beach home”! Cape Monaco is one of the loveliest, on the beach, homes we have ever rented. When you walk in the door you immediately know the owner takes pride in the property. The spacious gathering rooms and layout of the home are a delight. The tile floors make it easy to keep up with the activity and the furnishings make you feel like you have picked them out for your own beach house. The two levels of porches are awesome and provide a lot of space for families to gather and enjoy the outdoors. My husband used the lower porch to make pina coladas every day!! The hot/cold shower on the lower porch allowed us to give the grandchildren their baths and made it easy to keep the sand from the main house. I could go on and on but at the end of the day the highest compliment we can give the property is to let everyone know that from 2010 until I am old and gray we will be staying there 2 weeks in August and if we are blessed after we retire we will try and go a month. This really will be our “beach home!”

What a beautiful vacation home! What we saw in the pictures is what we saw every day we were there! The water was so beautiful, and the sand was so soft and cool. There was something for all of the kids on the beach (ages 1-17), which is hard to find. We made no other plans but to let the kids play on the beach every day, which they did and never tired of it the entire week. The house was so comfortable, decorated so lovely, and was located so close to shopping and restaurants, yet seemed so far away from everything when we were on the beach. The beaches were never crowded and we brought home lots of shells and even some shark teeth from them! All in all a wonderful, BEAUTIFUL very relaxing vacation.

Cape Monaco is absolutely the most fabulous beach home! Its layout is perfect with bathrooms for every bedroom and a large open kitchen & family room for gathering. From the outside the home appears to sit on several lots...which is a plus, all the other houses are tall & narrow. We love being right on the beach which makes a difference with children & bathroom breaks &/or naps. The kids (ages 3/5/7) can run up by themselves and never be out of sight..& we don't have to get up. LOL. Also, we've stayed here twice and the beach has never been crowded. I think because it's mostly nice homes nearby. Hands down, this home has it all and more. You won't want to leave!

Cape Monaco was awesome! We could not have ask for a better place to spend our vacation. The home has any and everything you may want or need. The lay out of the home is perfect for a large group. Each bedroom having their own bathroom was definitely a bonus. The decks were perfect to sit and watch the ocean from. And, it was so nice to have a private beach with chairs and umbrellas set up and waiting for us each morning. We are certainly spoiled now and hope to spend many more of our vacations at Cape Monaco.

Our stay at Cape Monaco was all that we expected and more. The house indeed is better than the pictures. We instantly felt at home. The layout and separation of the bedrooms give some degree of privacy and the access to the beach and gulf is wonderful. What a great vacation spot. The house was great. Everything we needed, kitchen, laundry...We had a great time. The guys played at great golf courses and the gals just relaxed and shopped. Cape Monaco was so much more than the pictures showed! We have usually seen less than the pictures when we arrived staying in a house or condo. John and Bev, thank you for treating us as your guests and really caring that we had a great time. Our whole family from age 2 to 52 were totally in love with the place. It has absolutely the most wonderful view in the world and a superb location close to wonderful restaurants. We plan to do the exact same thing with our family next year as we did this year. Cape Monaco is well cared for and we felt so at home. Just a few steps to the wonderful powdery sugar white beaches and pristine ocean. What a grand time. Thanks John and Bev!

4/25/07 Last week we stayed at this lovely beach front property. Two couples, two teenagers and one additional family member stayed here and it was never overcrowded. Everyone had their own beautiful room and what we really loved was that we all had our own bathroom and lots of privacy. The way the house is laid out there is plenty of room for people to spread out to go read or be alone and there is also a wonderful livingroom for everyone to gather to watch TV or a movie on the large, flat screen TV. Tons of good movies available in the house too. Groceries,liquor store,ice cream, wonderful outlet stores,etc. are all just a few minutes down the road. The house was very clean and neat too. What more could you ask for?!

The house was absolutely ideal for us, it was located among other privately owned homes and walking distance to the Majestic Sun, Bad Ass Coffee Shop, Pompano Joe's, the Whales Tail, and a beach shop. "Private enough but yet close enough." Waking to the beautiful sandy beaches and going to sleep with the sound of the waves is just what this family prescibes. The three decks give you an opportunity to experience the gulf over and over. Don't take our word for it, book a trip and see it for yourself.

Bev and John, Thanks for five great years at Cape Monaco. I will see you again. You did a fantastic job of rebuilding after the hurricane- the interior updates are the very best. The beach remains one of the finest stretches on the Gulf Coast. Good restaurants nearby are a real plus as is close proximity to All the shopping. The family enjoys sitting out back and being able to watch the little ones on the beach-- the decks, grills, and chairs/lounges are ideal for my family needs. 2006 was our fifth year with you and we will definately be back in 6/07. Bev- Thanks so much for allowing us to rent Cape Monaco. We enjoyed sitting on the lower level porch on the bench swing and watching the waves come in...how relaxing! My daughter felt right at home in the beautiful great room and open kitchen and she loved the covered porch on the main level. She and her best friend took naps on the lounge chairs out there! The home is very child friendly and thoughtfully equipped right down to the binoculars for dolphin watching. The beautiful kitchen handled our Thanksgiving prep easily. The gorgeous interior of the home is rivaled only by the fantastic beach and views. Lots of room to escape for private time and ample areas to gather. We forgot there was a busy world just blocks away!!! Our best vacation spot yet! Bev and John love this home and it shows in the way they care for it and the people who are their guests.

Thank you John and Bev so so much for renting us your beautiful oceanfront home. It's our fourth year vacation in Destin area and this year was the BEST. All of us had such a wonderful time. We love your home so so much, it locates in such a perfect spot on a beautiful wide beach. So gorgeous! We appreciated very much the extra service you provided...with beach chairs and umbrella awaited us every day on the beach.
