In the Berkshire foothills of Litchfield county NW Connecticut, Sharon is an upscale New England village with a classic green and historic houses. Our house is 1 mile from town, yet totally secluded on 28 acres of perennial borders, fields, woods and an idyllic stream. There is outdoor dining on the patio or on the terrace overlooking the croquet lawn under the giant oak. The house is graciously furnished with many antiques, yet with fully modern conveniences. It is our second home and your home away from home. It is well-suited to family reunions or business retreats, but cannot be used for parties or gatherings with outside guests. The town is home to the famous Sharon Playhouse, nearby restaurants provide fine dining. For nature lovers there is the Audubon Center, the Appalachian Trail, fly-fishing in the Housatonic River and swimming in Sharon Lake, all within a few miles. Fall offers spectacular color and Winter, both downhill and cross-country skiing. A year-round paradise.
Local Sports open to the Public:
Three excellent golf courses within 10 miles. Small quiet lake with beach and playground. Indoor and outdoor tennis courts. Famous fly fishing (license required) and canoeing on the Housatonic River 15 min drive. Appalachian trail and many others for hiking. Audubon Center with wild life attractions 5 minutes away. Biking on rail trails or highway. Skiing - from Mohawk Mountain, small family location 15 minutes away to Catamount and other large areas in the Berkshires about 35 minutes drive.

Hi DeeAnne, We had a most memorable week at your lovely country home. It was the perfect size for 14 people and a dog! The kids and dog just loved the stream. I had forgotten how beautiful that part of Ct. is because we always seem to end up in the Lenox area. Sincerely, Nancy Marshall
