The charm of this 60-year-old cottage, with wide plank wood floors throughout, has been preserved on the outside - but has undergone total interior renovation this winter which includes a new master bedroom wing and central air. This adorable cottage with farmer's porch, situated 10 ft. from the tranquil water's edge of Herring Pond, is light, airy and open with 3 floors of living space.
The 1st floor cathedral-ceiling separate master bedroom wing overlooks the water with sliders off the deck and private entrance. It boasts a pillow-top king bed, white floors and, custom-tiled bathroom en suite with double vanity, arge closet and lots of light. The remainder of the 1st floor is an open-plan "great room,” which includes the kitchen with island and indoor "porch” overlooking the water, as well as a laundry room and powder room.
The lower level has a large family room with a ping-pong table and TV, 3 sliders opening out to the water. A large queen bedroom with en suite full bath completes this bright and sunny downstairs space.
Upstairs, the 2nd floor has painted wood floors, with 2 bedrooms, including a queen bed with sitting area and a twin bedroom with 2 twin beds. There is a full bath on this level.
Swim the clear, clean, trout-stocked fresh water pond (1.5 mi around), or meander on one of our kayaks or rowboat. Motors of any kind are not permitted, which makes for a delightful, peaceful day on the water. Wake to the beauty of water & wildlife from every room. 3 kayaks, sun/lounge chairs, a picnic table on the deck, as well as a gas barbeque are provided for your enjoyment.
Walk or bike to First Encounter Beach, which boasts one of the Cape's "best sunset views" and is located less than 1/2 mile away. Hop on the bike trail (50 yards from the cottage) and head to Coast Guard (3 mi.), voted one of the "Best Ocean Beaches" in America. Or, ride your bike to the harbor, enjoy a Lobster Roll and watch the sunrise/sunset over Cape Cod Bay or the local fisherman arrive with their daily catch, launch your boat, or go deep sea fishing.
En route to the ocean, stop at the Salt Pond Visitor's Center, a starting point for many nature trails and bike routes. The Cape Cod Rail Trail runs the length of town, passing salt marshes, cranberry bogs and ponds and ends at the Visitor's Center. If you like to exercise, the local Willy’s Gym offers classes at all levels (Yoga, Spinning, Aerobics, Circuit Training and Pilates and more), as a well as an indoor pool, climbing wall, and basketball, tennis, and racquetball courts and more! Mini-golf is everywhere - and of course, some of the finest restaurants on Cape Cod are just a few minutes away. Freshly caught local fish, the best chowder around, and many great spots for an adult evening out, as well as family-style dining can be found throughout the area. There is also a drive-in movie theatre located ten minutes away!
If you are a baseball fan, celebrating its 114th year is the Cape Cod Baseball League, the premiere collegiate summer league in the country, attracting players from the best baseball programs in the US. Many former Cape Leaguers populate the MLB rosters, including some of the 2007 World Champion Boston Red Sox: MVP Mike Lowell (Chatham ’94), captain Jason Varitek (Hyannis ’91 & ’93), former Gold Glove first baseman Kevin Youkilis (Bourne ’00) and speedy centerfielder Jacoby Ellsbury (Falmouth ’04).
Whale-watching trips out of Provincetown are a must - and there's lots of shopping and antiquing. Take one of the nearby ferries to Boston, Martha's Vineyard, or Nantucket.
The lush green beauty of New England, combined with the magnificent dunes and beaches make for a perfect summer holiday.

The Unique Benefits at this Waterfront Summer Cottage
Swim, bike, or walk around Herring Pond. Kayak, sail or simply read a book at the water's edge. less than 3 mi from the cottage, is First Encounter, a beautiful and historic Bay Beach. Drive or bike (along the trail near the house) to Coast Guard beach, on of the National Seashore ocean beaches. Everything is close by!

I have enjoyed Eastham on Cape Cod as a young girl, when I would spend 2 weeks with my family in several different rental cottages. When I had a family of my own, we continued to rent in Eastham. It is such a special spot, that my husband, Joe & I decided to invest in our first summer home. Eastham is quiet and lovely, even in the height of summer! We love being on the water with the ever changing colors and landscape.
