Serenity awaits you at the Luxury Log Cabin located just 12.25 miles from the heart of Athens. This cabin was built 10 years ago and is located on a private 20 acre watershed lake.
No matter what brings you here you will enjoy the solitude of being the only home on the lake. Many visitors come just to get away from the daily grind but most come here to be close to UGA activities! You can watch the game from the comfort of the cabin or be in the middle of Sanford Stadium in minutes.
While you are here you may enjoy fishing in the lake where there is an abundance of Brim, Crappy, Bass, and Catfish. You can sleep late and awaken to the beauty of the lake through the master bedroom window. The kitchen is fully stocked for any occasion. You can relax on the wraparound porch and enjoy meals indoors or out.
Theaters, shopping, you name it and it's there. The Commerce Outlet Malls are only 10 minutes from our home in case you have shopping on your mind!
After dinner, you can relax by the lake and enjoy s'mores by the campfire as you unwind from the day. Hmmm...sounds good!

This is the best place ever to stay when visiting Athens or the Commerce outlets. The cabin is very cozy and smells like clean linen. The living room furniture appears new and the home is filled with interesting antiques. the fireplace was great on a cold November evening but they also have a brand new heating and cooling central system for those who do not want a fire. Advice: Pick up some firewood on your way there or just pick it up in the woods.

My family an I stayed here for a weekend in September. The kitchen was well stocked and the location was very private. However the cabin is in need if a deep cleaning. Also it smells musty and the master bed smelled very musty. There may be mold in the upper lift ceiling. It is very black on the ceiling. Bathrooms were clean.

Owner response: Thank you for your review! I'm glad you found the cabin to be peaceful and the kitchen well stocked! I appreciate you letting me know about the musty smell! I will remedy this immediately! Perhaps it is due to all the rain recently. The cabin is professionally cleaned after each guest. I have always found the cabin to have a wonderfully pine smell since it was built from pine logs and the interior walls are all pine. We will make sure that future guests find it just as fresh and wonderful as ever! Sincerely, Jamie Ramsey- owner
Nice relaxing cabin get away. Lovely setting. The cabin is in a treed area. The property dogs were sweet & friendly. They guided us to the cabin. Our dog had a health crisis (seizures). We took him to UGA vet school late at night. I highly recommend the vet school. Wonderful place. We enjoyed sitting on the porch. Next time I would like to sit a little more! Great place to read a book or two. Beds were comfortable. Cabin is comfortable and homey. The bull frogs were singing in the evening. Jamie , the owner, was very quick to answer questions & helpful. We liked going into Athens and then coming back to the cabin for peace and quiet. We enjoyed our stay. I hope we can come back in the future!

We came for a family wedding in the area and got a very nice treat. My family really enjoyed this very secluded home! The photos do NOT do the home justice...it is so much more beautiful in person...very aesthetically pleasing with beautiful artwork, quilts, pillows, and other decorations. (On a side note there is a larger TV than shown). It was very clean and comfortable, too! (The best beds we've slept in away from home) Our sons had fun fishing from the boat on the lake, they caught 3 big large-mouthed bass. We truly felt like well-taken-care-of guests on one hand and completely at-home on the other! HIGHLY recommend ~ we even arranged to stay an extra day! The owner and her mother were a joy to deal with and made everything go very smoothly for us. I would recommend bringing an ax to chop gathered fallen wood into smaller pieces to fit in the fire pit and fire place. We were happy to not have to find a place to purchase wood--there was plenty laying around in the woods--just a bit too large to use easily. :-) We hope to return someday.

A romantic 38th Valentine's Day Weekend together.
A romantic 38th Valentine's Day Weekend together.
When we arrived in Fri. it was dark, but we could tell we were going to love our stay. The cabin was cozy and better than the pictures! The wrap around porch was so inviting-but just a little cold to sit out, so we headed into Athens to hang out at our favorite places and eat some delicious food at NONA's. We were hopeful it would be warm enough to fish a little on Sat., but it was cold and windy so we gathered some wood and bought some firewood at Ingles in Commerce after visiting the outlet mall. We NEVER sit home on a Sat. night but the cabin was so welcoming and cozy we relaxed and enjoyed a quiet night by a "real" fire! The cabin was pretty hard to find in the dark, as the Google Map I printed had different road names than the actual roads. I was able to search with Maps on my phone and locate the road-finally. The easiest way to come in would probably be on Hwy 334 because there is only on turn from Stoy Smith Rd. to go to either Athens or Commerce. The destination was well worth the search and once you find it and put it in your GPS you will be all set. However I would advise to print off the map of the area with the roads listed if you can't use your phone. As far as the kitchen, we didn't cook, but we had all we needed. You might want to take a good corkscrew, and there was only 1 wine glass, if you are picky about drinking wine out of a wine glass. We did not get to meet Nancy or the horses, but we did get to meet the adorable dogs, who came to visit and get treats each day. You have to love a place that comes with dogs to wag their tails at you! We can't wait to go back for another visit; just can't decide if we want to take friends! There is SO much room it is sad to waste it, but it is such a romantic spot that we were glad we went by ourselves for our 38th Valentine weekend together.

My warm January visit
My warm January visit
Everything was exactly as it had said in the description maybe even better. The pictures do not do justice to the beauty and size of the cabin and the surroundings. I look forward to spending another vacation here. My dog loved it too. He swam every morning and enjoyed the company of the owner's mom's dogs.

The cabin and the setting was just lovely. We enjoyed the view of the sunrise and sunset over the little lake. The fishing was excellent; my daughter reeled in several bass and a whopper sized crappie. The cabin has everything you would need, we even managed to make a homemade apple pie from scratch and enjoyed an outdoor fire. Nancy, the owner, lives on the property and greeted us kindly and was very helpful in recommending some excellent dining spots. Overall, this rental afforded us the peace, tranquility and convenience we needed. Thank you for sharing your property with us.

Great Log Cabin weekend!
Great Log Cabin weekend!
We had an amazing time at the Lake Cabin in Athens. The first thing you feel is the peaceful and serenity of the private lake. The cabin has everything you need, including wi-fi and pet friendly, which was an absolute must for my UGA student daughter to come. We grilled out, had a marshmallow roast at the fire pit, went for a beautiful walk at the Botanicl Gardens nearby. The 2 chihuahuas we have were so excited running an playing in the large property. All our friends that have seen the photos are asking where is it because they all want to go!

My wife and I stayed a week recently while my grand daughter was at softball camp at UGA. It was hard for us to leave the cabin once we checked in because...... well why would you want to? Beautiful cabin, great view of a small private lake, it felt like we were a million miles away from the work a day world tucked away in the woods. I had the chance to fish the lake a few times and I was the only one on it, caught a few as well. If you need a get away then this is the place, oh good folks to rent from too. Hope to return next year and do it again.

We were pleasantly surprised at the location of the cabin - very secluded and picturesque. Virtually no mosquitos or bothersome bugs. Lots of baby toads, moths, butterflies and birds. If you like nature, this is the perfect place. We ate dinner on the wrap around porch each evening. The kids liked boating and caught some pretty big fish, but the lake isn't very clear and quite mossy. Atlanta is only an hour and a half away and if you get in town afer 10 AM, the traffic isn't that bad. Just make sure to leave town by 3 PM. The cabin itself was nice and had everything we needed for a week, including kitchen items. The only negative was that the cabin smelled quite a bit like dog even after spraying air freshener.

Owner response: I am always thankful for traveller reviews. They allow me as an owner to know what I am doing right and where I need to place my attention to make sure every vacationer has a wonderful time at the cabin! I agree with this reviewer that the wraparound porch is wonderful! Since her stay I have added all new designer porch furniture complete with the zero gravity recliners that make you feel like you are in the meditation room of a wonderful spa! There is a small bit of mossy type material that collects in the corners of the lake for a few weeks on June each year from the natural ecosystem of the lake but it is now going away. This material only seems to make the fish more eager to bite. Many people ask if the cabin is suitable for swimming and I always say that it is if you are comfortable with "country lakes.". I grew up swimming there but now as an adult am admittedly a bit more squeamish. It is my desire to make sure the cabin is always fresh and clean and traveller reviews are taken seriously. I visited the cabin personally last weekend and the air was filled with the sweet smell of the gardenias that are growing in the front.
