SORRY, I DO NOT RENT THIS COTTAGE DURING THE WINTER MONTHS. SEE YOU IN THE SPRING OF 2012!
This adorable cottage features beautiful views of secluded all-sports North Lake. Also nearby is the Potawatomi Trail which is popular for both mountain bikers and hikers alike. The cottage will sleep six people comfortably. The upper level features a spacious bathroom with washer and dryer, a proper bedroom, and a sleeping porch which is probably the best place to sleep and enjoy a fresh breeze off the lake. The lower level is essentially one large room equipped with a generous sized kitchen/eating area and a cozy living space for conversation, a book, or possibly a DVD. This lower level has a futon that will sleep two people. Off this lower level is another porch that is often used for dining, cards, and gazing at the lake. A metal fire-pit is available in the back yard to provide fire-side warmth on a chilly evening. The rental of this cottage includes the use of a row-boat. I have a pontoon boat that can be leased for an additional $75/day.
The cottage is a short drive from Dexter and Chelsea which can provide both simple and fine dining. Chelsea has the popular Purple Rose Theater if you enjoy live theater put on by professional actors.

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2003
My name is Steve Wild. I purchased this cottage as my own personal retreat and never planned to rent it but with the economy what it is, it makes sense for this asset to earn it's keep. That said, I will say that I've set the place up according to my somewhat quirky tastes. I like old stuff and the cottage reflects that characteristic. An example of this is the refrigerator and stove which are vintage 1952/53 appliances. They're clean and they work fine but I know some people just want new stuff.
Why the Owner Chose Pinckney
I chose to purchase this cottage because it's only 35 minutes from my home in Ann Arbor. I'm a landlord in the Ann Arbor area and it's difficult for me to leave town. This cottage allows me to "get away" while still being within easy reach of all the problems that arise from housing college kids.
The Unique Benefits of this Cottage
This cottage provides me and others with the opportunity to relax and unwind.

Thanks to Steve for a nice cottage on the beautiful North Lake. The stay was very relaxing and I have to admit the sleeping porch was a great night's sleep overlokking the lake. The place has a very nice throwback style to it including a 1950's fridge with rotating shelves that was very cool. The pontoon boat was a great way to start/end the day with a cruise around the lake. It also nice to drop anchor and drop a fishing line into the lake and just relax. Steve was also very helpful in giving us a tour of the house and property which was helpful for our stay. I wouls definately recommend this cottage for a nice/quiet getaway. We had our vacation planned around a UM game with Ann Arbor only about 25 minutes away. Some nice little towns around including Dexter which was very nice. If you like golf check out Whispering Pines only about 15 minutes NE of the cottage.
