My son and I had the most relaxing vacation at Krista and Jeff's cabin on their beautiful acreage close to Arcata. It was exceptionally clean, beautifully furnished with cool extras like a beautiful deck with white lights that came on automatically at night. Quiet and peaceful! The road up is a little steep, but easily manageable. Highly recommend!

My family of two adults and two kids recently stayed in Jeffrey and Krista's wonderful cabin on their beautiful property in Arcata. We have a brother in the area so we wanted to be nearby him to hang out together easily. The cabin was immaculate and practically brand new! The kids loved sleeping in the loft. We enjoyed the back deck and had a few great bbq's out there. The zip line and fire pit were great fun. The property is just off the freeway (convenient) yet off the path and so quite private. The price was very reasonable and the owners returned our cleaning deposit in a timely fashion. We will definitely be inquiring again the next time we come to Arcata to visit, thanks!

Super cute little cabin. Nice drive and easy to find. Ran into a racoon on the porch on the way to the car after dark that surprised me a little but i left it alone and it left me alone. The kitchen was tiny and i came prepared for a coffee pot not a french press and microwave popcorn and there was no microwave but thats prob. my fault for not asking. It rained the entire time so we didn't get to enjoy the nice side porch. Krista and Jeffrey were very helpful with everything. It did take three weeks to get our deposit back and that took a phone call. My only other suggestion would be a nice country picture in the livingroom and bedroom, it's a little unfinished and a dvd player would go a long way for the winter months when you can't hang outside.

Contemporary, spotless, comfortable, quiet, secluded cabin. Wood stove is easy to use and more than adequate for heating a cozy cabin. Large bathroom, nice size kitchen, with table for four, and all (clean) cooking utensils and dishes, including wine glasses for four! French Press for great coffee! (Thanks Krista) Comfortable seating in living area, wonderful reading lamp for bedtime and a great compact AM-FM CD radio. We will never stay any place else! Well situated and easy access to redwoods, beach, HSU, downtown Arcata, Trinidad and stores, but wonderful seclusion. We would recommend this property to all our friends and relatives and we will be back in June! Thank you so much, Susi and Tony

We where pleasantly surprized how beautiful the area was and the cabin was like new and very comfortable. It had everything we wanted need. It was very close to Arcata, but you felt like you where deep in the Redwoods. We will be back. This is a one of a kind getaway place!

Peaceful, quiet and beautiful. We enjoyed the cozy fire and the accomodations. Why would we ever stay at a motel again when we could stay here? We look forward to returning.

My little family stayed here for three nights, and it was incredible and peaceful and exceeded my (already high) expectations! Jeffery and Krista were very accommodating of our last minute plans and it was a joy to get to stay on their beautiful land. Our 12 year old loved sleeping in the loft and flying down the zip line. We would definitely stay here again.

You will definitely enjoy this rustic, natural location within everything that you dream about of the Northern California redwood forests and beaches. What a pleasant surpise to see a deer early one morning from the porch! Clean, clean, clean, and new too....Jeffrey and Krista have really created a piece of private paradise here...fast and easy reservations, excellent communication, and my security deposit was returned very promptly. Thank you so much! Will definitely return again...

Jeffrey & Krista, What a piece of heaven you guys have up there! Thank you for sharing it with us. We had a good time and both my kids enjoyed the zip line. Even got my husband down it a few times :) - the cabin is clean and comfortable and very close to town. We hope to stay there again...

Jeffrey and Krista, Had a nice stay at your oasis. We had our daughter and boyfriend here the first night as extra cost. I could not find a broom to sweep up with this morning-my apologies. Though we like to stay here longer (to see the fabled sun that we are told shines here often) we must return to work and reality. Thank you!

Jeffrey and krista were very helpful but not in our way at all. The cabin was very clean and though small and very cozy I was able to prepare a wonderful dinner and breakfast in the kitchen. Everything you needed was stocked in the kitchen as far as pots 'n pans etc. were concerned. The location was perfect a 10 minuite drive from Arcata but on 47 acres and a wonderland all it's own, they even had a zip line on the property. We will definately be back.

Our stay in the cabin at Essex Springs was peaceful and relaxing. We enjoyed nestling in while the warmth of the fire quickly filled the comfortable, beautiful space. The redwoods, private setting and sound of the bluejays were what we needed.
