  We really enjoyed our stay in this wonderful house. Joyce was very helpful and very friendly during the reservation proces and during our stay. The house is beautiful and in a very good location. The subway is around the corner and brings you directly to the center of the city. We will certainly recommend this property to others. Olivia & family, Belgium

  Our group of 4 moms and 4 teenage daughters were thrilled by the house! The brownstone is everything it was advertised to be and more. Joyce was a fabulous host and gave us all kinds of tips and useful information that made our visit to Harlem and NYC. Extremely well equipped kitchen with lots of coffee, tea, etc. Many nooks and crannies to explore in the house with an array of interesting collections of this and that! We liked being part of a neighbourhood and took advantage of the many great restaurants most nights. There is very easy subway access to the rest of Manhatten. Loved it - will never stay in midtown again..

  Just returned from a wonderful stay in the mansion! We had 12 people, including 4 kids, and we had a wonderful time. The house was perfect for accommodating all of us and for allowing us to host Grandma's birthday party for additional friends and relatives. It was the perfect base of operations for a great weekend with activities throughout the city, including excursions to Brooklyn, the East Village, and the High Line, and Chinatown/Little Italy. Joyce's tips for shopping, etc. made it easy to stock up and be ready for our stay. Can't wait to come back!

  This was an awesome place to stay! It was only 2 blocks from the 2 and 3 trains. It was a quick drive to LaGuardia, and a short walk to the Metro North Rail-line. The Mansion was even better than the pictures. The water in the house does take some time to get warm, so be prepared for that. Joyce was very friendly and helpful. Overall my group had a great experience and we definitely plan on returning.

  We were a group of 8 high school girl-friends from Winnipeg, Manitoba - all celebrating our 60th Birthdays here in NYC! We could not have picked a better place to stay than Joyce's Harlem Mansion! The elevator was a must for us, as one of us was in a wheelchair, and some of the others....definitely not as mobile as we used to be! Much appreciated! There was plenty of room for all of us - with privacy to boot! It was clean and beautifully decorated, but still felt homey. The kitchen and dining room were amazing! Joyce had it well stocked with all the necessities. We didn't do a lot of cooking as we were on the go so much - but when we did, we got to enjoy it together. As it was our first time in NY, we weren't sure about the location - but as it turned out, it was perfect! The neighbourhood was totally safe - even at nite! We walked to The Apollo Theatre for Amateur Nite and had so much fun. Another nite, some of us walked to a concert at Marcus Garvey Park - just around the corner. We used the buses, as well as the subway, and the private taxi co. Joyce had recommended. We did and saw so much in the 7 nites we stayed - much more than if we had stayed in the downtown area. If I ever make it to The Big Apple again, I will definitely check out The Harlem Mansion! Thank you, Joyce for making our stay so very enjoyable! I

  This mansion had everything a visiting group to the city could ask for. Every amenity we could think of was provided. All of us truly felt at home while we stayed in the Harlem Mansion. Our group consisted of a group of young adults gathering in the city for the weekend, and we were not let down with the comforts of this house. We were a little hesitant because of the house's location and distance from the "main attractions" of the city. However, the subway and Metro-North were so close that it actually was perfect. We could enjoy everything the city had to offer and still get away. The elevator was a huge hit with our group and everyone loved it. I imagine it would be convenient for any having trouble getting up the stairs as well. The gorgeous kitchen and dining area was what really sold it for us though. It provided an amazing place for our whole party to gather and enjoy each others company. The owner (Joyce) was extremely helpful and was there to provide anything we needed and to make sure we had a great time at her property. It was without a doubt and excellent experience. Thank you Joyce for such a wonderful stay, and we hope to see you next year!

  Ten women in my family gathered from northwestern Canada, Norway and Sweden to celebrate a birthday, and we all agreed that this fabulous house was a key to the great success of our visit to New York City. The hospitality of the house and owner was echoed by the neighborhood, and we quickly felt part of the vibrant street life which for me now exemplifies New York. Our excursions were easily accomplished due to the great subway connections from this location, and the nearby grocery, fish market, wine store, restaurants (and of course the famous Lenox Lounge) easily met our needs for nourishment and entertainment. We relaxed at home every evening after our sightseeing and shopping, enjoying the cool and quiet, and the squirrels and birds in the garden. When it came time for our birthday celebration we found the house equipped with absolutely everything we could possibly require - and the beautiful, elegant dining room was a wonderful setting for our group. Every single one of us would choose this location again in a heartbeat - and many are already daydreaming about future trips. Thank You!

  Well we all loved staying in Joyce's brownstone. It is beautiful, huge home which easily accommodated all eleven of us (6 adult women and 5 teenage girls). We had a blast, everyone had enough space. I particularily loved having the outdoor space. We were 2 blocks from the red line and managed to negotiate all around the city. It took us just 11 minutes to get to Times Square (not counting walking of course). Joyce really maintains the home. I have stayed at VRBO rentals at least 20 times and rarely do you find where you don't have to supply some paper products, etc, lots of linens, the kitchen was really cute and was well stocked with basics. A real treat.! I really appreciated Joyce, she was wonderful.....a definite great place!

  We stayed a week and enjoyed every min. of the stay. The home was beautiful. The area was fun the people where nice and friendly. We would stay there again in the future.

  Our family of 12 arrived in New York from California and Pennsylvania. Our reunion included celebrating graduations and a surprise engagement that happened in Central Park. The home is beautiful, comfortable, spacious and well appointed. Joyce, could not have been more thoughtful, gracious, and helpful ....making our vacation and celebrations perfect, including helping us arrange a catered dinner one evening.

Renters have access to the entire home (5 floors including exclusive use of elevator, LR, DR, kitchen, billiards, media and laundry rooms, garden, 5 bedrooms, 5full and 2 half-baths, sleeping up to 10 guests). Rentals are for a minimum of 3 nights and the entire house is yours for $750 per night.
