The Cashiers-Highlands region of North Carolina’s Smoky Mountains has been a cherished mountain retreat for generations of Southern families.
Perched on the crest of the Mountains, and averaging 10-15 degrees cooler than the surrounding areas, these rustically stylish towns have been enjoyed by generations of families for their authentic mountain charm, ideal climate and classic small town character.
At 3,400 feet elevation, Lake Glenville is the highest lake east of the Mississippi. Fed by five mountain rivers and streams, its 1,460 acres, including three spectacular waterfalls, are surrounded by more than 26 miles of secluded shoreline dotted by canopied country roads, Christmas tree farms and picturesque waterfront homes.
The Lakehouse at Katie Camp is a private mountain retreat set on two acres amidst the stunning natural beauty and cascading waterfalls of the mountains and strategically located at the edge of an old-growth hardwood forest on the shores of pristine Lake Glenville.
Our lakefront mountain retreat is the perfect family vacation destination or for a getaway with friends. There is ample space to enjoy swimming, use of our private dock for boating or relaxing on the wrap-around porches and sun terrace facing the lake.
Native materials and local craftsmanship are evident throughout the 4,700 sq. ft. house. Generous sitting and dining areas, quiet reading nooks, spacious bedrooms with king beds and comfortable seating, massive stone fireplaces, antique hardwood floors and soaring ceiling combine to give the Lakehouse the feel of a luxurious mountain lodge.
Evident, too, are the modern conveniences of a fully equipped kitchen with granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances and solid cherry cabinets; oversized marble soaking tubs, high-efficiency laundry equipment, Wi-Fi, LED satellite TV, DVD and CD player.

Just wanted you to know how much we all enjoyed your house last week. Our two daughters and their families were with us to celebrate our 50th anniversary. It was so much fun being on the lake and the "fleet" was great. I wanted to record our catch, one bass and lots of little fish. Katie Camp was great. Maybe we can do it again.
