Light airy end unit featuring hardwood floors throughout and 12' ceilings in newest upscale planned urban community in the heart of Folly Beach... referred to locally as 'The Edge of America' and well known for it's eclectic mix of inhabitants, Folly has long been attractive to the artist community and is one of the best surfing areas on the east coast.
An ideal eclectic getaway in a new, lower density, well designed complex with Caribbean flair. Ideally suited for 1-2 couples or small family, well behaved canine family members are welcome. Peaceful, perfectly situated location away from the hustle and bustle of front beach party atmosphere, yet truly a 7 minute stroll to beach and fishing pier, 5 minutes to Center Street restaurants and entertainment. Charleston, with all it's charm, is only 15 minutes away via motorcoach. An electric piano in living room delights keyboardists and vocalists alike.
We strive to keep our home chemical scent free by cleaning with natural products and essential oils as well as avoiding chemical pesticides etc. Chemical scent free laundry detergent as well as chemical free air freshener and insect repellent provided.
This home is spacious, instead of turning the small study into a dedicated less desirable 3rd bedroom, we've elected to keep it as a smaller multi-use space. It's essentially a reading/project room including basic free weights, yoga mat etc. as well as a full size drafting table and a twin sleeper sofa for occasional use as an extra bed. It's another space to retreat, design, think and read.

- Suitability
- Pet Friendly : Well behaved dogs welcome. Additional cleaning fee of $100 per dog. No cats, owner allergic.
- Not Suitable for Children : There are 2 flights of stairs. Therefore probably not ideal for families with young children as we do not have child gates etc. installed. It's also not likely well suited for anyone with significant mobility impairment for same reason.
- Minimum Age Limit for Renters : We regret that we are no longer willing to risk renting to anyone under 25.
- Smoking Not Allowed : Smoking permitted on balconies, if and only if, windows and doors remain closed to smoke. We're referring to permitting the occasional smoke under these conditions... no chain smokers please.

Why the Owner Chose Back Bay
We originally chose this townhome as a second residence because Folly has the cleanest air on the east coast and I needed to escape the effects of the heaviest spring pollen at home. We are now able to share our townhome year round as I am no longer forced to flee from home in spring.
The Unique Benefits at this Townhome
With the county landing just a couple blocks away, it's convenient to go for a quick paddle on a whim, the back side of Folly offers wonderful places to kayak. We never know what we're going to see. The island is also a great place to jog and bicycle, plus miles and miles of beach to enjoy. The outdoor shower with hot and cold water makes beach excursions so much more convenient and really does minimize sand inside. The location is prefect, not in the hub bub of front beach activity, yet an easy walk to beach access and to restaurants etc. on Center Street.

We had a fantastic time staying at this property. Cheryl was so accommodating and provided everything we could possibly need. The house was so clean and fresh smelling. The art and furnishings were so much nicer what you would expect in a rental and the bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable. We rented a golf cart through Lightening Bugz and didn't use the car except to go to Charleston or the grocery store. The house is close enough so that you could walk to the beach but with kids, chairs and umbrella it's so much easier in a golf cart. We highly recommend this property for your next vacation.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners.

Gorgeous home, beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean. Perfect area for exploring Folly without being in the middle of it all. Quick, pleasant walk to our fave spot, The Lost Dog. DH loved the peppermint soap, & I've stocked some at home. The dogs appreciated the cool water when we arrived, & the bag of dog treats was a lovely touch. We rented a golf cart for the week, which made getting around so easy. For those considering renting here, know that the photos and description are accurate, and Cheryl & Michael are easy to work with. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, but probably won't, as we're hoping to buy a place on Folly this fall. I'd recommend this to friends and family without reservation! Great spot, great location, comfy and clean, friendly owners!

We had a great stay. Cheryl couldn't be more helpful and has 3 binders filled with all kinds of information for the area. The fresh flowers and personal welcome letter are a great touch! The house is very comfortable, especially the master bed. We were a little concerned about the fragrance free restrictions, but all the soaps and supplies were right there so it was no big deal. We now are using the same soap at home because we liked it so much. We can't wait to come back and stay even longer!!!!

Though we were a bit nervous about the rules, this is a wonderful property! Owners were nice, had helpful information about things around town, and even bikes to ride. Townhouse was spotless and comfortable, with a touch of contemporary luxury; made our get-away just perfect. Would recommend!

Thank you so much for allowing us to stay at your beautiful home. We had the best time! It was by far the most comfortable place we have ever stayed in. The king bed felt so luxurious and the pottery and art work were exquisite. We so appreciated the attention to detail, like making our Winston feel welcome with the dog bowls and the couch cover. He had a great time too, and made quite a few friends at the dog park downtown! (Thanks for the tip about Dr. Bach's Remedy, it worked well). Also, we're now big converts of Dr. Bronner's peppermint soap- we stopped at Earth Fare to stock up before we left. All in all, our main goal for the trip was rest and rejuvenation. We couldn't recommend a better place for achieving that and we are already looking forward to returning sometime in the near future. Warm regards, Christine & Tim

We loved spending a week in your beautiful house. Everything is so lovely - peaceful - and an excellent air conditioner! I felt wonderful here - natural products, the most amazing bed ever - I am even contemplating changing from our waterbed. Having fibromyalgia I have long given up on finding a "normal" bed that is comfortable but lo & behold I think I have! We will be back. ... Thanks for a wonderful week!
