Light airy end unit featuring hardwood floors throughout and 12' ceilings in new upscale planned urban community in the heart of Folly Beach... referred to locally as 'The Edge of America'... Known for it's eclectic mix of inhabitants, Folly has long been attractive to the artist community and is one of the best surfing areas on the east coast.
An ideal eclectic getaway in a new, lower density, well designed complex with Caribbean flair. Ideally suited for 1-2 couples or small family, well behaved canine family members are welcome. Peaceful, perfectly situated location away from the hustle and bustle of front beach party atmosphere, yet truly a 7 minute stroll to beach and fishing pier, 5 minutes to Center Street restaurants and entertainment. Charleston, with all it's charm, is only 15 minutes away via motorcoach. An electric piano in living room delights keyboardists and vocalists alike.
We strive to keep our home chemical scent free by cleaning with natural products and essential oils as well as avoiding chemical pesticides etc. Chemical scent free laundry detergent as well as chemical free air freshener and insect repellent provided.
This home is spacious, instead of turning the small study into a dedicated less desirable 3rd bedroom, we've elected to keep it as a design/exercise space. It's essentially an exercise room including basic free weights, yoga mat etc. as well as a full size drafting table enabling accommodation of other artistic pursuits. It's another space to retreat, design, think and read.

- Suitability
- Pet Friendly: Well behaved dogs welcome. Additional cleaning fee of $100 per dog. No cats, owner allergic.
- Not Suitable for Children: There are 2 flights of stairs. Therefore probably not ideal for families with young children as we do not have child gates etc. installed. It's also not likely well suited for anyone with significant mobility impairment for same reason.
- Minimum Age Limit for Renters: We regret that we are no longer willing to risk renting to singles under 25.
- Smoking Not Allowed: Smoking permitted on balconies, if and only if, windows and doors remain closed to smoke. We're referring to permitting the occasional smoke under these conditions... no chain smokers please.

Why the Owner Chose Folly Beach
I chose this townhome not as a vacation rental, but because Folly has the cleanest air on the east coast and I needed to escape the effects of the heaviest spring pollen at home.
The Unique Benefits at this Townhouse
With the county landing just a couple blocks away, it's convenient to go for a quick paddle on a whim, the back side of Folly offers wonderful places to kayak. We never know what we're going to see. The island is also a great place to jog and bicycle, plus miles and miles of beach to enjoy. The outdoor shower with hot and cold water makes beach excursions so much more convenient and really does minimize sand inside. The location is prefect, not in the hub bub of front beach activity, yet an easy walk to beach access and to restaurants etc. on Center Street.

08/09 Thanks so much for such a great & cozy stay. Great location, & away from the noise when wanted the peace & quiet, but perfect distance to nightlife & beach. Personally loved the art-pottery pieces throughout. And loved all the organic products which made it feel like home away from home. Great visit and would do it all over again! Thanks again! 08/09 We had a great time at the house. Everything was so clean, the beds were comfortable and the extra touch of the flowers was really nice. We enjoyed the watermelon also. We were quite worried because my daughter had car trouble on Friday night. We didn't know if she was going to be able to leave on Saturday, but the Infinity car dealership helped her out and she was able to drive back and will take it to the dealership here. They were really nice. Everything worked out well and we had a wonderful time. Thank you for your hospitality. Beth South Carolina

07/09 Quickly checking in to let you know how absolutely WONDERFUL everything has been. We're having a great time and love the home. (snip) Also, we haven't used any chemicals here at all, but the mosquitos are pretty awful and we've had to spray ourselves with skin-so-soft when we are out and about. If you had a suggested/provided bug repellant that wasn't offensive to you, I'm sure many guests would be happy to use it. Beth (PS - Dasher loves the dog blanket and stair treads... what a thoughtful touch!) Thank you so much for making us feel right at home - we had a fantastic stay! This townhome is lovely & we also loved the decor. All your maps & recommendations etc. were a great touch. We'd love to come back to Folly & stay here again! 07/09 Made it home safe and sound. We had a great visit and really enjoyed your place. Our GPS got confused trying to find the house but the picture you sent saved us since we both spotted the distinctive paint colour. It was a perfect distance from the beach - not too close to the parties but definitely an easy walk. The kids loved that they got to see a loggerhead turtle nest (or at least the tape and note around the sand), saw some dolphins and lots of different birds. Great vacation! Hopefully we can make it back again. Gail Georgia

Guest comments prior to this date were originally manually posted on our website as guests emailed, wrote notes etc. When we initially listed our property the guestbook was giving error messages when attempted to test, I couldn't imagine asking anyone to deal with it. We were so busy at the time we made no serious attempt to obtain assistance thinking whatever the cause it would eventually be revealed and resolved assuming it was happening to others as well. When things finally slowed down months later we looked into it again but same issues. Tech support did indeed come through once we contacted them as the problem was apparent and reproducible. Having had months to think about if this really matters or not, the only concern is that some potential guests are warning others on advisory websites never to consider a property if it has no guest comments. Though I can understand their viewpoint, this is not entirely a valid stance as I doubt we had the only dysfunctional guestbook. We're dealing with computer programs etc. after all, things happen.
