Location: Townsend, Montana, USA. Cabin on a 17-acre mining claim surrounded by BLM and Helena National Forest lands (Elkhorn Mountains): 140 miles south to Yellowstone National Park; 60 miles southeast to Bozeman; 30 miles south to Three Forks; 25 miles north to Townsend and Canyon Ferry Lake.
Accommodations: Cabin with 1 bedroom, 1 sleeping loft, and 1 bath (sleeps 6 to 8).
Experience the fun of remote vacationing. Bring your ATV’s, jeeps, horses, or boots to explore hundreds of miles of trails through National Forest and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) public lands. (Large acreage is only accessible by horse or hiking.) Experience motor cross adventures at the Radersburg OHV BLM recreation area just 4 miles away. Check out old mines and abandoned towns or climb peaks over 9,000 feet. Views are spectacular from many vantage points. You can fish on Crow Creek, the Missouri River, Canyon Ferry Lake, or the many small feeder streams. This newly finished, solar powered cabin is accessed by 5 miles of dirt road and has all basic necessities such as water and sewer. Firewood provided. Elk and deer can be viewed from the cabin. This property resides in a “trophy only” hunting district so big racks are common.

This unique getaway offers a great recreational experience for 4-wheeling, fishing, hunting, and hiking. Wildlife abounds and the scenery is spectacular. Even though we live in Montana, we found this special place to relax and enjoy the beauty and grandeur that is unmatched.

On this 17-acre mining claim remains of old mines can be explored. In the adjacent public lands ghost towns expand the imagination about times gone by. Hikes into no road areas open up unique opportunities for adventure. We were particularly interested in trying solar living which has proven to be very gratifying.
