Tropical Breeze is a 3 bedroom/2 bath kid-friendly & pet-friendly beach house located approximately 100 yards from the beautiful blue Atlantic Ocean on Oak Island, NC (less than a 2 minute walk).
You can't beat this location to take your vacation. There is just so much to do on Oak Island or you can just stay at Tropical Breeze & relax in the tranquil environment. Come see the dolphins swim or view one of the many bird species & other wildlife on this island sanctuary. Enjoy the ocean views & beautiful sunsets from the fully covered large front porch while sitting on a swing.
Fishing & Golfing abound on Oak Island. Myrtle Beach is an hours drive away. Historic Wilmington is a 40 minute drive away with many sights, shops & eateries. Oak Island has many wonderful local restaurants & shops. The new Oak Island bridge is now open on the West end. Cuts down access to Oak Island from the West (NC 211) by approx. 16 miles to our house.
The kitchen/dining/living area is a large open airy living space with a cathedral ceiling. It's great for entertaining. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to whip up something quick in between your trips to the beach. Open one of the many front windows to feel the wonderful ocean breezes. You can watch a movie on the large flat screen TV or just enjoy the view while relaxing on the large comfortable sectional sofa.
The master bedroom has a king-size bed with it's own private bathroom with a shower/tub. It has a flat screen TV, DVD Player & an iPod Docking Station/Alarm Clock Radio. It is furnished with a sitting chair & stocked bookcase for those who like to read before going to bed.
The second bedroom has a queen-size bed, sitting chair & a flat screen TV. The third bedroom has 2 twin-size beds. Each bedroom has its own closet, dresser, night stand(s), ceiling fan, overhead light, & cable/phone connection. Each bedroom has a hard-wired smoke detector with an additional one in the hall & kitchen/living area. There are fire extinguishers in the kitchen & master bedroom closet.
There are beautiful hardwood floors throughout the entire home.
Wireless (WiFi) internet service is accessible anywhere on the property. Unlimited local & long distance calling within the USA & Canada is also included.
The house has central air conditioning & heating. The laundry room is conveniently located on the main floor inside the house. There is a hot & cold outside shower in addition to the 2 full bathrooms. For those who fish there is a hot & cold working sink next to the outside shower to clean off your catch. The fully-fenced yard & gated porch provide peace of mind for those traveling with dogs or children. Enjoy the ocean breezes while picnicking underneath the house in the shade--or lounge in the hammock.

RENTAL DETAILS/INFORMATION:
Your children & dogs are most certainly welcome at Tropical Breeze. (Sorry, but we can only accommodate dogs). We do charge a non-refundable pet fee of $150 for the first dog & $50 for each additional dog with a maximum of 2 dogs. Please let us know what type of dog(s) you have. We do not discriminate against any breeds as long as you assure us that they are friendly, housebroken & well behaved. There is also a $250 pet security deposit required which will be refunded to you within 30 days after your stay provided there is no damage or no treatments are needed. With regard to your furry friends staying with you, please be respectful of others coming to stay at Tropical Breeze & the neighbors. Please try to contain any excessive barking & always clean up after your dog. We ask this of you so we can continue to allow dogs at Tropical Breeze.
Linens can be provided for an additional fee (see rates). Departure maid service is included free of charge. We just ask that you complete a few small tasks prior to leaving which we will tell you about. We ask that you please leave the house in as good condition or better as you found it.
Check-in Time is 4 PM & Check-out Time is 10 AM (sorry, but we cannot accommodate late check-outs due to the timeframe allocated by the cleaning service).
Weekly rentals are from Saturday to Saturday. Nightly rentals are available from September 15th through to April 15th of each year with a 3-night minimum stay. The pet fees & pet security deposit also apply for shorter lengths of stay.
We have a strict occupancy limit of up to 6 people. Unfortunately, Tropical Breeze cannot accommodate more than 6 people. Sorry, but we cannot rent to groups, house parties, or anyone under the age of 24.
Current state & local occupancy taxes of 12.75% will apply to your entire rental amount including pet fees & linen service if selected.
A 50% deposit is required within 7 calendar days of making a reservation. The balance will be due 30 days prior to check-in. If your check-in date is less than 30 days from your reservation date, the full amount will be due upon making your reservation. If your 50% deposit is not received within 7 calendar days of making your reservation, we will have to cancel your reservation.
Cancellations: We are sorry, but we cannot refund any monies unless & until the house re-rents for the same time period & the new deposit is received. If you must cancel your reservation & the house re-rents to another party & we have received their deposit, we will refund your money less a $50 cancellation fee.

Why the Owner Chose Oak Island
We fell in love with Oak Island, NC when we first vacationed there in 2007. The beautiful blue Atlantic Ocean water and the dolphin sightings were what convinced us to buy a beach house on Oak Island. Oak Island is a very tranquil, relaxing & family-oriented place. Yet, there is still plenty to do here and the local shopping conveniences make it an ideal vacation destination. Truly a home away from home.
The Unique Benefits of this House
It is a very short walk to the beach from Tropical Breeze (less than 2 minutes). You can walk your dog on the beach year-round on Oak Island. Enjoy the ocean views from the fully covered front porch. The yard is fully fenced so the kids can play and your dog can be off leash without worry. Shopping is a 5-minute drive away. You can walk to the convenience market 2 blocks away to get the morning newspaper. Some of the many activities on the island include swimming, fishing, charter fishing, golfing, miniature golf, boat, canoe, bike, scooter & moped rentals, a skateboard park, a dog park, Oak Island Lighthouse, wonderful restaurants, & Southport Historic District. Tropical Breeze also includes WiFi internet service, expanded cable TV with 3 TV's, 2 DVD players & a VCR player. We have also stocked the house with books, board games & puzzles-including an old noc-hockey game.

Upon arrival to our temporary vacation spot, we found it to be very clean and welcoming! The owners are very pet friendly are kind to your pets as visitors. The outdoor set-up is awesome with the yard secure and roomy for pets to roam. The interior set-up is perfect. The windows across the front porch give you a view of the ocean from afar. The beach? Not far to the access. The amenities of the home were perfect. Bringing the basic necessities per the list provided was easy enough! The town of Oak Island has it all! Local shopping, restaurants, entertainment, and beach fun....all available once you cross the bridge onto Oak Island. You never have to leave the island. But, if you leave the island...venture towards Southport and enjoy their offerings too! Would we stay here again... YES!

Tropical Breeze was delightful! My Cavalier Oliver was happy from the time we picked up the homemade treats left for him until the time we had to come home...when he was sad to leave the wonderful front porch and fenced in yard. My friend and I were thrilled with everything about the house - the well-stocked kitchen, the comfortable beds, the cool breezes on the front porch...what a relaxing place to visit. The only thing that could have been better was the weather! But with the porch we were able to sit outside even in the rain...We were able to sneak in a few walks around the quiet neighborhood and to the ocean by way of a short stroll....We will definitely be back and Oliver will be very happy!! Thanks Liz for sharing your lovely home away from home....

Wonderful peaceful location, less than a minute from the beach. Awesome unspoiled beach....Great beach house! Attention to detail fantastic and Oh! So pet friendly without being overwhelming....We just LOVED our time here and will certainly be returning in the future.

My husband, myself and our two English Springer Spaniels, Hershey and Reece thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tropical Breeze. I had not expected to be so close to the beach. The view and the ocean breezes were heavenly. We spent the majority of our time on the large front porch. Tropical Breeze is the perfect place for dog lovers! I loved the set up with the series of gates and the fenced back yard. The dogs had the freedom to go up and down the stairs to the back yard or to relax with us on the porch. It was clear that the owners are not just dog friendly; they are dog lovers. The dogs adored the home made biscuits Liz left for us. We stayed the last week of April; the weather was gorgeous and the ocean was warm. The sandy beach is extremely dog friendly and Reece (who won't swim in our pool) even went into the ocean. The house is extremely comfortable, clean and well equipped; we made use of the huge lobster pot! The owners had thought of every little detail that would enhance our stay. We definitely plan on returning in 2012 but will plan to stay for two weeks because one week was just not enough time. We fell in love with Oak Island and hope to retire there someday. My wife, adult daughter, adult daughters friend, Oliver(8 yr old black cocker spaniel) and I stayed from Aug 13-20, 2011. The place is awesome and the owners are definitely "dog" people who care that their guests have a wonderful time at Oak Island. Oliver especially enjoyed his freshly baked treats we received at check in. He and I also enjoyed our morning walk to a smail store just down the street. While I got the paper, Oliver was enjoying his biscuits given to him by the friendly employees of the store. The neighborhood was quiet and filled with runners, walkers, bikes, and beach goers. The beach is only a short block away and was not crowded, families, couples, and of course many dogs!!!! Just down the street was a marina where we went jet skiiing and got picked up to go Parasailing in the ocean-superb to say the least. Tropical Breeze is a comfortable pleasing place to be. We spent a lot of time on the front porch enjoying the warm breeze and ocean. Inside was a wonderful entertainment system and a fully stocked kitchen. We throughly enjoyed our week and hated to leave. We will be back in 2013 for sure. We already have plans for the summer of 2012 but can not wait to return to Oak Island and Tropical Breeze Kudos to the Owners for maintaining such a peaceful and appealing place. : )

my family and i enjoyed our vacation at the tropical breeze, the house had everything we needed to cook with and the fenced backyard was a very nice feature to have, beach access was actually closer then what he had pictured and wasn't crowded at all, we averaged between six and ten hours a day at the water and enjoyed the clean beach, i would recommened this vacation property to anyone for the location and value.

But I can say this home is everything it tells you and what a stocked kitchen - had all we needed to cook and eat great meals even a fresh lobster dinner - so relaxing we did not want to leave and time flew by. The town of Oak Island is so friendly and the beaches were so relaxing and not over populated. This home is so pet friendly - our loved ones received doggie cookies from the owners:) This home is clean and I am very nervous about using other peoples dishes and linens!!! We just returned from a wonderful stay at the Tropical Breeze. From the moment we arrived to the time we left we felt at home. This cottage is great for dog lovers, we never worried about our dogs while staying here, it is set up perfectly with the fenced back yard and carport area and gates. Our dogs also enjoyed the treats! It is an very easy walk to the public access area of the beach. We are already planning a get-a-way for next year!

We just returned from a wonderful stay at Tropical Breeze and wish we could have stayed longer. The moment we walked in the house we knew we were in for a treat. The accomodations are lovely. We just loved the open great room with the wall of windows facing the beach. Our dog never stopped wagging her tail, and we didn't have to worry about her because of the fenced yard and gated deck. This house has everything you could ever need: games, books, movies, a stereo, well equipped kitchen. It is obvious the owners care greatly about the house and love sharing it with others. Where else are homemade dog treats for the dog and a toy for your new baby waiting for you at check in? We want to come back soon! Thank you so much!
