Built in 1930, Stern & Anchor is a Cape Cod style fisherman's cottage located approximately 1.5 miles north of Bodega Bay in the intimate Salmon Creek community. This one-bedroom home with open sleeping loft features expansive windows that provide views of the Pacific Ocean, Salmon Creek and the Sonoma Hills.
A neighboring sleeping cottage on the property contains two twin beds available for an additional fee when the main house is rented. During your stay, either curl up with a good book and enjoy the views or walk only a few minutes and explore the dunes or look for sea treasures washed ashore on the extensive two-mile stretch of beach.
Regardless the time of year, Stern & Anchor is a wonderful retreat for family and friends. Hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.

We've just spent 3 amazing days at this lovely house near Bodega Bay. It has everything we needed for a relaxing weekend on the North Coast: great views of the ocean, a super comfortable bed, and close proximity to the great little town of Bodega Bay. The house is owned by a famous San Francisco interior designer and it really shows! We will definitely be back!!

My fiance and I have stayed at Stern and Anchor 4 or 5 times in the last couple of years. Sometimes with friends and family sometimes just the two of us. Sometimes in sunny summer weather sometimes in winter storms. We have always enjoyed ourselves. Sitting by the fire watching the storms. Sipping a margarita in the love seat Adirondack chair. Hunting for sand dollars at low tide. I recommend rolling the canoe down to Salmon Crk for an easy paddle up stream. We live in the Bay Area and treat this warm, comfortable house as the vacation home we don't have.

I've just planned my second trip to Stern and Anchor - the house has clearly been lovingly decorated with special details found in every room. Thoroughly enjoyed the relaxing walks on the beach and around the dunes. Can't wait to get back out to Stern and Anchor in June!!!
