A charming studio apartment in the heart of Buenos Aires. The street out front is pedestrian only so noise is minimal and street caters to a walking, sight seeing crowd.
The apartment is one block from 9 de Julio - the center of the city and walking distance to all the great locations: Recoleta, Calle Florida (popular shopping street), Puerto Madero and San Telmo. Beyond the fact that you can walk everywhere, the apartment is also one block from all subway stations. If you are the adventurous type that likes to hop on subway to make your way to destinations beyond the popular vacation sites - this place is perfect for you.
Of course there are restaurants a plenty to chose from as well.
The Building:
The building has a 24/7 doorman and an elevator. It is clean and comfortable.
The Apartment:
It is very tastefully decorated and sophisticated in style (I personally decorated it). We have two twin beds if you are friends visiting the city together. For couples, the head board is actually a queen mattress. All you have to do is put the mattress on top of the twin beds and voila - you have a queen size bed. Of course linens are provided for either twins or a queen.
The chocolate brown couch is a pull out. So if there is one more or two - you can pull it out and there is yet another bed.
The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes and cookware. While Buenos Aires is known for its culinary delights, one might want to just stay in and cook an amazing asado. Fantastically, there is a grocery store just a few blocks away so you can stock the fridge with delicious meats and cheese and wine and more.
The bathroom has a full tub, toilet and of course a bidet (which are quite popular in Europe and Argentina).

About the owner: Hi - My name is Kathleen Shanahan. While I have a very Irish name, my mother was born and raised in Buenos Aires. We bought the apartment together so we would have a place to stay when we visit the family. I am personally from San Francisco, California. I wish I had more time to spend in my city oasis, but as I own my business I don't get away as much as I like.
Why the Owner Chose Retiro:
While many people are drawn to Palermo or Recoleta, I chose Retiro (Microcenter) because it truly feels like the center of the city. I can walk to Recoleta, Puerto Madero, San Telmo and more. It is very central. When I go for long periods of time, the apartment is around the corner from the Pan American hotel which has a roof top pool and exercise facility. I join it when ever I go to the apartment.
The Unique Benefits at this Studio:
First, I feel very safe because the building comes with 24/7 doormen. They are all very nice and have worked on the property for years. Second, I love the balcony. I like to sit there in the evening with a glass of wine and peer down the street to this beautiful, European style building. Third, the fact that Suipacha is a pedestrian only street is fabulous.
