Will keep this short as all reviews are exactly the way this property is. We were two couples staying early May and had the best holiday. If you are a snorkerler/diver you will love this place. We have been to Cozumel, Belize, Turneffe island and this has been the best snorkeling overall. If you want to just hang out and relax this place is peaceful. Tip: If you are a snorkerler walk down the beach to Utopia village and snorkel back with the current. It only takes about an hour to do. You will be grounded and on island time with in days. We did our own cooking but went to Chez Lolas which was really nice one night. Good food and really nice. Dave/Trish do a great job on grocery shopping. About the property managers: Dave and Trish do a wonderful job on ensuring you have everything and your vacation meets your expectations. Peter also who is new to the crew will cook for you. We can't say enough about all the really nice people we met. We are still really missing this place. Thanks to everyone for making our holiday extra special.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers.

We stayed at the Pineapple house for a month! We found it went too quickly! Dave and Trish, our wonderful caretakers, are amazing, colorful people! They introduced us to many parts of the island, the cultures, the people and different foods! A definite to do was going to "Water Cayes" for the day- A beautiful white sandy beach, on a small cay, with no one around and clear blue water! We experienced so much with Dave and Trish! They go beyond any other, to ensure you have the best vacation! We enjoyed going to Utila town for day trips, eating and drinks at local restaurants and , of course, our fave "Skid Row", the name says it all! We also enjoyed going to Pigeon Cayes for groceries, fresh fish or drinks at local bars. Treasure Beach is amazing! The best snorkellling was right off of the dock! You could actually see many different species of fish, sitting on edge of dock! 2 people of our group are divers and Dave and Trish arranged the best dive master for us, taking us on 28 dives! The balcony, on the dock, was great for sunning or evening sunsets! The house was amazing! We had everything we could ask for and more! A word to the wise to bring long sleeved shirts and pants, as sand flies do come out at night. We will definitely be returning!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Staying at the Pineapple House is a truly fantastic life experience! My husband and I stayed for a week in November and delighted in the beautiful home, friendly caretakers, Dave and Trish, and the feeling of living on our own private beach. From the time of our arrival by boat from the other side of the island we were completely relaxed and able to enjoy the view from the porch, snorkel in the pristine coral reef in front of the house and walk the beach looking for shells. The accommodations are elegant. Laurence and Beth have done a fabulous job of decorating this home in a style that is at once casual and grand. It was fun to cook in the huge kitchen and to share a meal with Dave and Trish. We got delicious fresh fish on our first day on the island and were able to go into town to go shopping, although Dave will do this for you if you prefer. This house is perfect for a couple, a small family or two couples. There is opportunity to explore, meet the neighbors, go to the Cays (Cayas Cochinos) or just hang out and relax. It was wonderful to have access to a washing machine. Internet access is limited but Trish will help you if you need to be connected. Please consider donating to BICA (Bay Islands Conservation Association) to help conserve this area of the world. We highly recommend this gorgeous home for your stay on Utila.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
Owner response: thank you for the kind words, we hope to have the pleasure of your company again someday.

We had a lovely honeymoon at the pineapple house. The snorkeling in front of the house was fantastic, with a beautiful array of tropical fish. The private pier was a great place to get a cool breeze or watch the stars. The house itself is right on the beach and very comfortable. Dave and Trish were lovely hosts. They know the meaning of service. They know all ins and outs of the island. The fishing trip they arranged for us with Mr. Herman was a lot of fun. Fresh caught grouper is delicious! The deserted island they took us to was also a highlight. We cant wait to return to the pineapple house! We highly recommend it.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Upon arriving to The Pineapple House, we knew it was going to be a spectacular weekend. The water is crystal blue, coral reefs for miles and our very own home right at the center of it all. I was traveling with my girlfriend and two other couples and we knew from the moment that Dave docked his boat, we had arrived in Paradise. As we entered The Pineapple House, a grand display of fresh fruits with a welcome basket was incredibly inviting. As we toured the house, each room was better than the last. Beach front views and the morning sun greeted us each morning. As each day came, there was a new adventure for us, whether it was snorkeling, kayaking, lion fish hunting (yes we hunted!) or sightseeing on the main island of Utila. The Pineapple House gives you any type of vacation you are looking for. Sun tanning the days away, relaxing on hammocks by the water, or taking a trip to down to Utopia Dive Village for a chef inspired dinner, we truly had an amazing trip. I encourage each and every one of you to take the trip of a lifetime to The Pineapple House! Dave and Trisch, thank you for a wonderful week and I hope we get to spend another rockin' week with you guys again.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: thank you for the kind review, come back soon.

We past an excellent stay at Pineapple house. The property was clean and well-maintained. The manager and his wife were very friendly and welcoming. The manager gave back deposit properly. We enjoy snorkeling just in front of the Pineapple house and like to kayak on the sea. The house is well-equiped and a lot of place to all our family. We recommend this house for a nice and quiet stay, safe to go with children or enjoy with friends. The house and the area looks like a postal card.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, tourists without a car.

Being lucky enough to spend a week at the Pineapple House is an amazing feeling! Every day you wake up and think, wow! It is a very special place and an experience you will not forget for a very long time...watching the most amazing sunrises sitting on the dock, diving in a crystal clear blue ocean which is packed full of critters that are a photographers dream, chilling out on the deck of the house or reading a book on the dock, laughing and enjoying time with people who are very special to you and finishing it off every day by looking at the most amazing stars you have ever seen. Mind blowing. It really is like that, every day. If what you want is room service, resort restaurants and bars, hundreds of people you've never met in your life and shops to spend the day in, the Pineapple House is not for you. However, if you want nature at its best, a place to relax and reconnect with yourself and people who are special to you, a living space that is interior designed yet still inviting, and a place to escape the rat race... the Pineapple House is most definitely for you. Yes, you have to catch a few planes to get there but it is totally worth it when you do. You order all your groceries beforehand so everything is there and packed away when you arrive, it really couldn't be any easier. And if there's something else you need Dave and Trish are always there to help and truly wonderful people. It really is that simple. It really is Paradise Found.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: many thanks for the kind words, we look forward to seeing you again next year !

I just spent a week at the Pineapple House with my husband and our 2 girls (ages 2 & 4). It was an amazing experience for all us!! We had wanted to totally escape and relax and this was certainly achieved!! The house was amazing - even nicer than the pictures portrayed. The coral reefs right off the dock provided hours of entertainment for our entire family...water is so clear that we could see all the marine life without even getting in the water. We watched an octopus for 20 minutes from the dock- and that is something we will never forget!! We took the kayaks out, and that was easy to do even with small children (we brought our own life jackets). ??Dave and Trish were great!! They definitely took care of us and were genuinely concerned about us and wanted to do everything possible to make sure we were having a good time. We had a little plumbing issue, and that was care of promptly. Peter, the boat driver, was also great. He was very professional and showed up when he said he would be there. And he delivered us fresh fish to our doorstep everyday for only $10...Awesome!! ??I would definitely recommend this house if you are looking to escape your everyday life and want to completely relax.??We will be coming back!!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

It is my pleasure to leave a review for the Pineapple House on Treasure Beach. My wife and I spent the holidays there with another couple and had one of the best vacations in recent memory. From the moment that we booked the house, the property managers (Dave and Trish) were quick in making sure that our arrival would be as comfortable as possible. Dave helped us book our flights to and from the island from San Pedro Sula, schedule activities, stocked the fridge with our pre-ordered provisions (Flor de Cana is a must), and acted as the general travel ambassador for the island which was great. Upon arriving at the house, it was very clean and comfortable and we instantly felt at home. The most difficult decision that we had to make each day was to kayak and visit the cays, snorkel in the great reef off the dock, or read a book on the porch- all a great break from the normally hectic life we have in the States. There was plenty to keep us busy if we wanted- we ended up going into town several times via boat (Peter, one of the caretakers, lives on the cays across from the house and is more than happy to take you into town or bring fresh fish from the cays for a reasonable price), deep sea fished for Wahoo, hunted the invasive lionfish with Dave and the Bay Island Conservation Association, and frequently kayaked 20 minutes to Water Cay which has a great sand bar. All locals and ex-pats we met were extremely friendly, generous and more than willing to share their experience or give us advice on what to see during our short stay. To top it all off, we had 8 days of dry and sunny weather at the end of December! Because it was the end of the rainy season, sand fleas were an issue and I would recommend Off Deep Woods to keep them off. Some of us had worse reactions to them than others but it never ruined our time outside as long as we protected ourselves. To wrap it all up, STAY HERE, we WILL be back in the near future so we can relive one of the best vacations we have been on at Treasure Beach. Thank you to all who made that possible!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2009
About the owner: My wife and I share a mutual love of scuba diving which has fueled our passion for travel and that's how we first discovered the beautiful island of Utila. We'd been visiting the island regularly for a couple of years, when in 2005 we purchased several pieces of beachfront land at Treasure Beach. Our first home, the Coral House, was completed in 2007 and our second, the Pineapple House, was finished in early 2009. We love helping our guests get the most (or least) from their time here and of course diving whenever we get the chance.
Why the Owner Chose Utila:
I used to love to visit Ambergris Caye Belize in the early nineties and had always wanted to buy property there but somehow never did. When i first visited Utila in 2003 it reminded me of what Ambergris Caye used to be like (but sadly no longer is), quiet, no cruise ships, no chains, no golf courses, no roads and unaffected friendly locals. So this time i took the plunge, determined to enjoy a Caribbean island before it was spoiled by the 21st century.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Treasure Beach is three miles from town and can only be reached by boat, this makes it perfect for those seeking to leave the tourist hoards behind and find peace and privacy. If you're looking for discos, buffets and hard rock t-shirts, you'll hate it. Those seeking warm water, snorkeling, shell collecting, an empty beach, star gazing, diving and boat trips to little cays inhabited by fisherman will love it. there is also a restaurant (utila' best) and beach bar thats only 10-15 mins walk up the beach.
