Situated on Huckleberry Hill near Seal Rock State Park and just above Ona Beach State Park, this home offers beautiful ocean view for whale watching, pelican viewing and of course gorgeous sunsets.
The living room and dining room offer panoramic oceanfront views. The home also has a small yard (great for kids) and a bunk house, complete with an open bathroom. Miles of sandy beach are accessible from 2 different trails both close to the house. Crabbing is close-by on the docks in either Waldport or Newport. In addition, there are numerous outdoor activities close-by including sea kayaking, clamming, river canoeing or kayaking, fishing, hiking (you can even follow parts of the Oregon trail that the wagons followed) and kite flying.
And if doing nothing is your vacation agenda, you can do that too because Huckleberry Hill is quiet and peaceful and the perfect place to get away from it all!

Huckleberry Hill is a special place for our family as our grandparents owned much of it during the '50's and '60's when "the hill" was peppered with many cabins available for rent. We spent many school vacations building forts on the beach and floating log boats down Beaver Creek. Although changed since then, Huckleberry Hill remains a special place. You'll find Huckleberry Hill the perfect place to whale watch, read a good book, build a bonfire or beach-comb.
Why the Owner Chose Seal Rock
A short hike to miles of beach, crabbing a short distance away, Oregon Coast Aquarium and the Marine Hatfield Center are a 10 minute drive, great restaurants and antique or shopping await in Newport.

Me and my sister and 3 children stayed here this pass august and were some what disappointed. The furniture is old as well as most of the fixtures in the home. a mattress was left laying up against a wall you had to pass all the time, where does this go. The front door broke and we were locked in so we had to use other doors to get out. The owner was notified and they came and removed the door knob leaving a hole for the rest of the time we were staying .There was a patio to go out on, but it was completely covered in bird poop with an active nest above still "working" There is a path to the beach, very dangerous to walk down for a child and for adults. The view is beautiful from the very large family room and dining room. All the beds were very comfortable. The home was stocked with plenty of toys for all ages of children which was nice. The home has alot of potential if the owners would start fixing things that are broken. I would not recommend staying here until the improvements are completed.
Owner response:We have rented to many families over the past 2 years and we have never had anyone comment on either the furniture or the fixtures. This is a family-friendly home that is made available to families to enjoy....thus all the toys and the extra mattress that is used for kids to sleep on or make forts out of. The door knob was repaired as soon as the guests departed...we are very curteous and we didn't want to infringe upon their vacation time with the repair as the door was still usable. We have 2 children 12 and 10 who have been trekking down the path since they were toddlers and it's never been a problem for all of the other family renters. But, there are 2 paths to the beach~ the other one is less of an incline. There is a map in the kitchen that shows both trails. We are very active owners and repaired the knob immediately. Each time we stay for a weekend, we clean out the area by the bird nest... but the birds continue to return. I guess they love it there as much as we do. I'm sorry that the previous visitors did not like our beach house~I worked with their extra-ordinary requests and we were quite shocked with the very messy condition in which they left the house. Fortunately, this is the only time for us that we have had people unhappy with their visit. If there are potential renters who have questions about the condition of the beach house, I would suggest that you call us. Thank you.
