Dublin City Centre Artisan Cottage

Year Purchased: 1998

Why the Owner Chose Dublin

We had a good friend living in the cul de sac where the house and we always loved the area. It ticked all our boxes when we first started to look at buying our first home together. It was in a quiet, friendly neighborhood. It was within walking distance to the city centre and was beside the Phoenix park. We always wanted to live close to the city but we wanted somewhere that had a strong sense of community. Also the area has so many amazing cultural activities on its doorstep it really appealed to us.

The Unique Benefits at this Converted Artisan Cottage

An architecturally redesigned Artisan Cottage in historic Dublin. The house was been totally redesigned internally in 2004. Modern living but with the added benefit of living in an historic cul de sac that has won many community awards for its houses colorful window boxes.

Owner's Map of Dublin

Myself, Suzanne and my husband Stephen, are both born and bred Dubliners and have been married almost 4 years. We were married in a beautiful little town called Fiesole in the mountains outside Florence in Italy. We now live in a fishing village called Howth in Dublin and have two small boys, with another baby on the way.

    • Suzanne and Steve, Thanks so much for making our stay in Dublin extra special. The house was cozy, clean and in a nice quiet area. It was so much nicer to be in a house than a hotel and especially great that our son could stay with us. We will definitely share our experience with friends and family.

      Homeowner Response:
Dear Linda and Dave - it really was a pleasure having you stay in out house and we are so glad you enjoyed your vacation - we might see you both again when you come on your next visit. Suzanne and Steve

    • We had a lovely trip to Dublin, and the house was great. It was close to Phoenix Park, and the 10 bus took us in and out of the city easily. It was also an easy walk to a lot of the sites we wanted to see. And I loved the welcome basket - the brown bread was great! Thanks Suzanne and Steve

    • Hello- I came to visit Dublin and Ireland with 3 girlfriends. We had a blast and found the cottage to be perfect. Great location, easy 15 min walk into the city center or you can take the tram which is a few minutes away (If walking or the tram is not your thing, taxis are super easy to find). The house is a very cheerful and comfortable space. Thanks Suzanne and Steve for a great stay.

    • Thanks for a lovely stay in Dublin, Suzanne and Steve. Ok vacationers, this is a well-appointed and neat house with a whimsical remodel. Sleeping in the loft with the skylight cracked was like curling up in a treehouse. The location is great - Phoenix Park across the street, with the zoo and miles of beautiful walks, Ryan's Pub down the street, a Nat'l Museum right around the corner - and all the amazing things west of City Center are a mile or so across the Lifey (Guinness, Leo Burdocks ...). And the LUAS (the light rail tram) is 1/2 mile away and takes you right into the heart of the action in just a few minutes. It was a little tricky finding out how to get out of the city via public transit, so I'll share what we learned: starting as early as 5:30am you can take the LUAS to O'Connell St, walk up half a block and catch the 747 bus right to the airport. Couldn't be easier! Now the question is ... where in Arizona can I find black pudding and brown bread! Thanks again, A&E

      Homeowner Response:
Dear Aaron and Erin Thanks so much for the feedback. I have some great recipies for making the brown bread that we left in your welcome basket which i will mail to you.. as for the black pudding !!! not too sure about that one but will do some research for you ! Suzanne and Steve

      Homeowner Response:
Dear Glynis, Glad you and your family enjoyed your stay in Dublin. Thanks for the suggestion about buying some fans - i have bought some for the house so we are prepared for our next heat wave ! Kind Regards Suzanne and Steve
