This place is amazing! Spacious, close to the convention center, the lagoon, ala Moana mall...we walked to everything, even the other end of Waikiki. And the view...wow. The only way to do the Ilikai is to have an end unit, and this is the one to pick! Owner is super friendly and helpful. We even took another couple with us and there was plenty of privacy for all to be had. Great for kids too...Thanks for the great place!

Owner response:Thanks Taylor! Sounds like you guys had a great time. The view is nothing short of incredible day and night! You're right, the end unit is where it's at! Everything about this unit, from the location to the decor, let's you leave all your worries on the mainland and ENJOY your vacay!!!!

BREATH-TAKING VIEW

Just a quick note to say how much we enjoyed staying in your condo. Great job on the upgraded interior. The view is nothing less than breath-taking - hard to believe anyone has a better view. The location sure worked well for us as it was close to the shopping, beach and restaurants. Plus the staff at rental office was fantastic to deal with - very efficient, friendly and willing to help with any problems. You picked a good rental company. We would certainly recommend this condo to any of our friends going to Hawaii.

Owner response:Thanks Warren! I'm glad you guys enjoyed it. I completely agree with you about the view. I have found myself watching the sunset / sunrise for hours.......it is gorgeous! We look forward to your return.

Perfect for our family!

Our family stayed in the Lamming's condo August 16-23, 2010. We absolutely loved it! The Ilikai hotel is well maintained and very clean. Everyone there was very helpful. The condo itself was perfect for our family. There are 5 of us, plus 1 friend. The views, as others have stated, are heavenly! The perfect spot to sit any time of day. Even at night, I would keep the blinds up just to look at the city lights. The location is wonderful. We loved taking long walks into Waikiki in the evening. We actually never used the pool. The lagoon was a huge hit for our 11 year old. Plus, the ocean is right there. We took in a lot of sites. Pearl Harbor, Hanauma Bay, Diamond Head and drove completely around the island. So many beautiful beaches! Also, great shopping. Parking is now $10 for 24 hrs at the marina or pay an hourly rate. As much as we LOVED this place, there were a few minor problems. The air bed that was in the condo did not work and the management company was unable to fix it. Therefore, our son had to sleep on a pool air mattress on the floor. Fortunately, he was a good sport about it. (Side note, the beds in the condo are VERY comfy.) Also, and this may be out of the owners control, but the occupants across the hall were very loud at times and you could smell their cigarette smoke. Not sure if they were residents or renters. Security told me occupants were allowed to smoke. Other than a few nights, the floor was completely quite. We would not hesitate to stay here again and would highly recommend it to others! Thanks for sharing your home, The Geiger family.

Owner response:Sorry about the air mattress. We have replaced it with a brand new one. We welcome you back anytime. Thanks!

Great place to stay in Oahu!

The Lamming's condo and especially the VIEW were just beautiful and a great choice for our first trip to Hawaii!! It is very private at the end of the hall and we rarely saw anyone else on our floor. Although as nicely decorated as the pix show, previous renters have not treated it as their own and the wear & tear is starting to show a little. Owners told us the carpeting will be replaced this yr which will make a big difference. The small hotel pool was nice and clean and refreshing at the end of the day. Hotel lobby, patio and bar area are very nice and were never crowded. Friday nights you can watch the fireworks next door from your own balcony! Be sure to check with the owners about the wifi connection if you want to use your laptops. We were not impressed with the after-hrs check in service (incl the mandatory $20 fee) but the laundry facility on the floor was a plus (the front desk sold us quarters) and parking at the marina lot (you can see your car from the balcony!) for $8/day made it convenient to have a rental car all week. Many handy items in the condo like beach mats, chairs & towels, cooler, boogie boards, books etc. that made this more comfortable than a hotel stay. The shopping area at the Hilton next door was close and fun to walk around but we were glad we were not staying in a place that crowded! Activity ideas on the island that we enjoyed: North Shore - Goat Island, La'ie Point to see the sea arch and climb around on the rocks, Tropical Macadamia Nut Farm tour (VERY enjoyable!), Polynesian Cultural Center. Go on the H3 - WOW what scenery and views!! Turtle Beach (to see sea turtles), Shark's Cove for snorkeling, Giovanni's shrimp truck and Ted's Bakery (for famous Chocolate Haupia creme pie). Of course, the USS Arizona, Bowfin and Missouri tours are a must. We also did the Swap Meet at the stadium, hiked up Diamond Head & in the rainforest to Manoa Falls and went sea kayaking. Ala Moana Beach Pk is walkable from the hotel. Oceanarium restaurant with aquarium @ Pacific Beach hotel was fun place to eat in Waikiki (time it so you are there when the scuba diver is feeding the fish). Waikiki aquarium was small but cool and a good place to go for an hour before we headed to the airport followed by a drive up Tantulus & Round Top Drv for AMAZING views of Honolulu.

Owner response:That's what I call "playing hard"! Way to do it all and then some! You found many of our favorite spots and we are so glad that your family had a GREAT VACATION. We hope to see you again in the future as many of our guests do year after year. You have our promise that the condo will be in EXCELLENT condition! Thanks.

Top-Notch All Around! Can't Wait to Return!

What a perfect place to call home during a visit to Oahu -- our favorite Hawaiian island. The location was ideal and the amenities were fantastic. The condo was very luxurious yet very comfortable. No detail has been overlooked. Whether we were coming back from a long day at the North Shore, or simply lounging out on the balcony, enjoying the famous view, the condo was perfect in every way. It truly does feel like a home away from home. A world class condo in a world class location. Now we know why everyone wants to return to this unit. We can't wait to book our next stay! Thanks for everything!

Owner response:Mahalo for your nice comments. We look forward to you joining the ranks of our many wonderful clients that return year after year. We look forward to your next Hawaiian getaway. Aloha!

We just returned from a week long stay at this condo with our three adult children and all agree it was one of our best vacations. We were thrilled with the views from the 18th floor. The condo layout worked well with bedrooms on opposite sides of the living space, the beds were very comfortable for those of us who like to stay in newer hotels for the beds. The condo comfortably accomodated 5 adults who enjoyed rising leisurely in the morning with fresh brewed coffee and toasted bagels from our own kitchen. We picked up some basics the first night like coffee and coffee filters, we left a box of 300 filters so if you’re going anytime soon there should be plenty left.We spent every morning on the lanai watching people walk around the lagoon, scoping out the location of our rental car in the Marina parking lot (.25 cents an hour) and spent most evenings on the lanai counting down the sunset while enjoying a cocktail and appetizers. The condo felt like home for our short stay and it afforded us some family time which we seldom get now that the kids are grown and gone. We only cooked in once, we ordered pizza one night and another night brought up carry-out from Red Lobster which is at the corner light. There is an ABC store across from the Red Lobster that provided trinkets as well as beer and wine. There is a Foodland on the back side of the Ala Moana mall, 5 minutes by car and the valet gave us a sheet with directions. We didn’t miss the hustle bustle of the main Waikiki strip which is about a 15 – 20 minute walk by street and a little longer on the board walk. You can also catch the trolley which stops right out front. Beach access is easy and the pool is never busy at the condo. There is no tiki bar however there are plenty of beach hotel pools you can take your towels to if that is what you are looking for. We had a week of great weather and got to see some very large waves at Waimea on the North Shore which is a great place to watch surfers and hang out at the beach but not a place for swimmers. We spent a day at Hanauma Bay snorkeling and made our way there via Diamond Head drive which is very nice and has a lookout for those photo hounds. There’s a $7.50 per person charge and a required 15 minute film to watch but a wonderful beach and snoreling gear that ranges from $2 to $9 a set. Pack a lunch and use the cooler in the cabinet by the stove! On our last day we went to the east over the Pali Highway to Waimanalo Beach.

Owner response:Convenience is where it's at, especially while you are on vacation! You can walk to everything from our condo. More importantly there is something for everyone. The view is spectacular night and day! Our lanai is the best seat in the house for the fireworks show Friday night.

We have just returned from a fabulous Hawaii vacation in your condo. The location was everything it claimed to be and the condo was very comfortable, clean, well-equipped and beautifully furnished. It accommodated three generations and all our varied interests from sightseeing & shopping to snorkeling and surfing very nicely! We toured Oahu but also spent alot of time on the balconies enjoying the incredible views, on the beaches just out the door and walking around Waikiki. Thank you for providing such a perfect home base for a very memorable vacation. We are already trying to plan our next visit! Thanks again for sharing your little piece of heaven.

We had no idea that our choice of this condo in Waikiki would be so perfect. We walked in to a comfortably furnished, tastefully decorated, Tommy Bahama style condo on the 18th floor of a hi-rise. Its corner location has two balconies overlooking the ocean, harbor and city. The vistas are spectacular whichever way you look. From morning sunrises to evening sunsets, you are transported to another realm of living. It has everything to offer for young and old alike. We highly recommend many returns to paradise and this condo in particular.

I have stayed at quite a few places in Hawaii and I can say I have not had a better panoramic corner view of the ocean and Hawaiian Sunsets! The two room suite was just refinished (Tommy Bahama style) and had all the comforts of home (with a much better view). Right on the harbor and Waikiki Beach with all the shops and restaurants made this the perfect location for a week or longer stay! The Starbucks right across the street was a nice bonus! We will be back!

The location is great, within walking distance of everything we wanted to see and do in Waikiki. It was perfect for our girls getaway. Beautifully decorated with a well equipped kitchen. I loved that it's a corner unit which makes the view phenomenal!!!(I've never seen so many rainbows!) This is definitely the place to stay...again and again!

My wife and I stayed there in the end of April and had an awesome time. Surfed every morning right out front of the condo, there are several great breaks right out front. The view is spectacular we spent a lot of time just sitting on the balcony enjoying the sights. Very nicely decorated and comfortable, will be returning.

Dear Hawaiian Travelers, Mary Kay and I stayed at this location May 2009. When you walk into the unit the view will take your breath away. A fantastic panoramic view of the ocean, harbor and city. We spent a great deal of time on the balconies taking in the relaxing and majestic views. Being on the 18th floor when the fireworks went off over the lagoon you felt like you could reach out and touch them. The location was perfect, as the local trollies run right in front of the building. A perfect spot for a vacation or a honeymoon with all the right amenities. Aloha and enjoy!! :-) A big thank you to Dr. Scott and Katie Lamming (and the boys) Mahalo, Ted and Mary Kay Bowersox
