Location: Ukiah, North Coast, California, USA
Accommodations: House, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath (Sleeps 4)
Originally built in the 1950's as a vacation home for a family from San Francisco, this charming house in inland Mendocino County has recently been restored as a vacation rental. Located halfway between the villages of Talmage and Hopland, it is located next to the Russian River near the City of Ukiah. Hopland features Real Goods Solar Living Center, several winery tasting rooms and the famous Bluebird Café, while Ukiah has restaurants, golf, shopping, and the Grace Hudson Sun House Museum. The Ukiah Players Theater has a calendar of events and during the summer months the city sponsors a series of concerts in the park.
The house features a comfortable living room and adjoining dining area with a magnificent view. There are two bedrooms, a complete bathroom, and a compact kitchen. The large deck overlooks a vineyard and the riparian area of the upper Russian River. It is a wonderful place to enjoy your morning coffee and observe the many birds that live along the river.
Located on one of the best cycling roads in Mendocino county, this charming house is the perfect place for a quiet retreat away from noisy city life. It is centrally located for day trips to the Mendocino coast and wine country. You can enjoy nearby parks such as Montgomery Redwoods or Lake Mendocino, or you can just enjoy beauty of the place with its quarter mile of river access to swimming, rafting, hiking and bird watching.

Why the Owner Chose Ukiah
This house is next door to our main residence. It was used as a leased rental for many years, but we decided it needed to be shared for the reason we love our own house. It is a beautiful, quiet site by the river next to the Russian River. We can go down to the ancient bay laurel grove and read, or walk through Spirit Canyon which contains all the plants the Pomo Indian people used for to weave their world-famous baskets.
