While it was cold for 3-4 days we still had a great time. This unit was very nice and clean. There were games for us to play and extra chairs and beach toys for the kiddos. The use of a keypad was nice also, no keys to lose. The heated pool was especially nice with us having a few cold days. The kids had a great time as did mom and dad. We will return to this unit. I just read the previous review and have to say I am disappointed in the negativity of this rating. My husband and I drive a near 10 hours to visit gulf shores every year and sometimes twice a year. We discovered this condo in 2011 on vrbo and stayed a whole week at that visit. We were so impressed that we have stayed there on two more occasions and have already booked another stay for this year. We are very pleased with all of the amenities including location, views, and condition of the condo. This unit feels comfortable and tropical as soon as you walk in the front door. It has everything needed for a nice stay and much more. We never had any issues with parking or mechanics at this unit. We were able to walk to the shrimp fest and enjoy all of the nearby restaurants and shops. We have seen dolphins from the condo balcony each and every time. There have been improvements made each time we visit. For example the first time we stayed the unit had carpet and at the second stay there were newly tiled floors, new decor, and a new recliner. The furniture is not leather or the finest but it sure serves the purpose and is always clean. My children have been with us on two of the three visits and i assure you I would not let them sleep anywhere that was unclean or "stinky". The children have enjoyed all of the toys, views, and they felt at home here. The condo is always clean when we arrive and we strive to leave it the same way. Now with that being said if you expect "Hilton" furniture then go up the street and pay "Hilton" prices but if you want a nice, affordable, convenient, and clean condo then I highly recommend this condo. The owners are great to rent from and you cant beat the price or the comfort. My husband and I look forward to visiting again this year and possibly purchasing a condo of our own in this area.

A great place to stay in Gulf Shores

What a great condo with everything needed for a short or long visit. My brother, sister and I stayed in the condo while visiting to celebrate our Grandmother's 100th birthday. We have all been to Gulf Shores many times, so are very familiar with the area. What a great location--near everything you could possibly need. The condo was comfortable, with a great layout to accommodate everyone--a nice kitchen bar, a table for eating, comfy couch and chairs for lounging, and best of all the private balcony for great views of the beach and of course, just for relaxing. We loved walking right down to the beach and enjoyed finding many shells. Tarah was wonderful to deal with and was in great communication during the booking process, leading up to our arrival and even afterwards. It was a true pleasure to stay at this condo and I hope I can stay again. Thanks for a great visit!

Great condo and location but soiled furniture, rug and carpets.

My wife and I have rented this condo for the entire month of Feb 2013. Let us say it honestly and as it was. Firstly, the good news. Excellent gulf front location, adequate size condo, easy access to a clean sandy beach and large well-equipped balcony. Major appliances worked well and the kitchen was clean and well equipped. Good supply of clean bed sheets and towels. Quiet area of town, numerous restaurants. Well-kept common parts of the building, clean heated pool and pool area. Rent appropriate for this time of the year. Wifi worked although being very slow. Now, the bad news. Bathtub drain was clogged to the point that a full bottle of Draino did not solve the problem. On account of the weekend, it took four days to solve the problem. Showering with feet in three inches of dirty water is neither fun nor satisfying. The yellow couch (hide-the-bed) was dirty, stained, smelly and disgusting. Not recent dirt; old, old dirt. Had to keep it covered with a bed sheet during our stay and when friends visited us. Should have been replaced at least 5 years ago. Even professional cleaning would not be successful in my estimation. One of the armchair and the upholstered parts of the four footstools were in a similar condition. The living room rug was soiled and stained. The same remarks applied to the front and rear entrance carpets. The condition of these furniture items shows a lack of pride of the owner and a lack of respect for the tenants. No one would rent a hotel room in such a condition; why would one think that this is acceptable for weekly and monthly rental? I realize that the owner does not live there, but the deficiencies alluded to can easily be noticed during a short visit. I am also very disappointed that the comments of the previous renters over the past few years on this site and in the Visitors’ book did not address those unsatisfactory issues. Owner response: We are surprised to hear about the couch, footstools, and throw rugs being in the condition you suggest as the condo went through its annual 'deep clean' two days before your arrival. This 'deep clean' means everything in the condo from ceiling to floor is touched. To confirm this, we personally went to the condo the day after the deep clean just to review the cleaning service's work. We were more than satisfied with the job they peformed. Since the couch is only starting its 5th rental season, we feel it is still in good shape as our cleaning service always reports to us any items that need to be corrected. Even though our throw rugs are less than 6 months old, they too were part of the 'deep clean' process. If any of these issues were brought to our attention while you were staying, we certainly would have sent the cleaning service back to the condo to address your concerns. In regards to the bathtub drain, our maintenance mechanic repaired the issue within 2 days. Normally, we get same-day service but the weekend did have him busy. Since we understand that every renters expectations are unique, we do strive to maintain a comfortable, clean, and relaxing condo for everyone to enjoy. Based on the reviews received over the past 4 rental seasons, we feel we are meeting and in most cases exceeding our renters expectations.

I will definitely book this condo again in the future. I was surprised at all the extras in the condo for our use...cleaning supplies, garbage bags, beach toys, play pin, chairs for the beach, books & cards. Location was very convenient for shopping and eating.

Nice condo and great location. West Beach has less traffic and fewer people on the beach than most areas. Many great places to eat nearby, as well as grocery stores. Hope to be able to stay here again!

We just got back from Gulf Shores, The condo was beautiful and right on the beach, it is within walking distance of resturants, it was clean and the kitchen was fully equipped. This was my husband's and my first time at Gulf Shores and would definetly go back sooner than later!

What a wonderful week. Tara, thank you very much for allowing us to rent the Condo. The Condo was just as shown and described (perfect). The keyless entry is a plus. The location is awesome. The view from the balcony was beautiful. Our morning started with a great view of the sunrise over the fishing pier followed by seeing dolphins. The golf courses were in great shape and fun to play. Owner thought of every little amenity and was easily accessible by phone when I had questions. Great direct gulf front view with swing and chairs on balcony. Just down the road from the "Hangout"a popular restaurant and bar and across the street from a beach shop. Would highly recommend this condo and will definitley be back.

Spent a week (Sun-Sun) at the condo at the end of Feb 2012. It was everything and anything you could have asked for. Beautiful view of the Gulf (yes, finally saw dolphins), close to several bars and resteraunts (nice walk on the beach), friendly people, and great location for exploring the area. We came down from Michigan (Muskegon), and it was great to relax in the warmth. Tarah went out of her way to send us info, and make personal recommendations for wining and dining (which we took advantage of). Relatively small complex, so not a lot of traffic or congestion. Plenty of space on beach. Nice pool (too chilly while we were there), and patio area. No problem parking. If in Gulf Shores area again, I would most certainly like to stay here again. ENJOY!

Absolutely loved our week in your property! Everything was exactly as published and the location is perfect. Watched dolphins play from the balcony and watched the sunrise from the swing several mornings. Especially appreciated the fully stocked kitchen and the extra amenities of the beach chairs and toiletries. Tarah was exceptionally nice to work with and everything was professionally handled at the time of this writing. If in this area again, I will definitely try to rent this location again.

We had a great experience at Tropical Isles! Everything was accurate and communication with Tarah was smooth. A very nice place in a good location and it was an excellent value. Our deposit refund was mailed the day after we left as well. I would strongly consider staying in this condo again! Thanks Crabtrees!

We had a great stay. The condo exceeded our expectations in pretty much every aspect. Everything was clean and appliances seemed brand new. We especially liked the large balcony where we watched dolphins and schools of fish wandering down the shore. The keyless entry is a major advantage too - don't worry about keeping track of a key. It was our first time using VRBO and first time at Gulf Shores, but everything went perfectly. We will definitely check here first when we come back to Gulf Shores.

Our family had the best time we have ever had in visiting the Gulf area. We have stayed in condos in Destin, FL, Biloxi, MS, and Gulf Shores, AL. This condo was by far the best we have ever stayed in. The condo was exceptionally clean, had every thing you would want, and was right on the beach. The only complaint I had was that our vacation was not longer. We will definitely be back!!!

We stayed for a week in early April. The view is amazing and the owner has made sure the codo has everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. This was the most relaxing vacation I have had in a long time. The beach is clean and uncrowded. My daughter and I enjoyed our long daily walks on the beach. Thank you to Tarah and her family for sharing their wonderful vacation home with us.

Thanks Tarah, for making our stay happen at the last minute with no glitches whatsoever. The location of the condo is just perfect for a Gulf Shores beach vacation. Everything needed for a comfortable and convenient stay is provided. The decoration is very bright, fun, and positive. Thanks for all the recommendations regarding entertainment and restaurants. We tried several and were not disappointed, including a couple of very nice restaurants within walking distance on the beach. A very easy drive to surrounding communities such as Pensacola, FL, or Mobile, AL. A must see are the Blue Angels and the USS Alabama/USS Drum.

Tarah, I just wanted to thank you for allowing us the privelage of staying in your condo on Gulf Shores. The condo was great, everything was clean and ready to go and the stay was very relaxing and enjoyable. I guess the thing my wife and I enjoyed most was waking up to the view of the ocean off the balcony and enjoying each others company listening to the waves and just relaxing. We enjoyed the beach and picking up shells and the overall stay was just wonderfu! The most memorable day was our last day (we stayed 5 nights), when we walked to the beach before leaving. The water was very calm and clear and just amazing - it made me truly appreciate Gods creation. The waves were like liquid glass - we could see through them as they rolled onto the beach. The sea life was visible and unlike anything I have ever had the privelage of seeing. We will come back again and we are already talking about our next visit. Thanks so much for your hospitality, professionalism and courtesy with the entire process. I would recommend this location for anyone with appreciation for Gods glory and beauty in nature. P.S. - For you fisherman - I love to fish and enjoyed the State Park Fishing Pier in Gulf Shores. Plenty of varieties of fish, very clean, easy to get to with restrooms, benches, fresh water and fish cleaning stations!

We have stayed at Tropic Isles many times, but this was the first time to deal directly with the owner. We were very pleased with ease of reservation. We liked the queen bed since it gave more space to move in the bedroom. And the swing was super! Most of our time was spent deciding where to eat. Favorites include Bahama Bob's (walk to it), Wolf Bay Lodge, King Neptune's, Lulu's Grill, Cafe Villagrio (wharf), and Sea N Suds.

We had a wonderful time at your condo! I can't say enough about how perfect it was....so cute and clean and the location can't be beat; so much is within walking distance! The views from the balcony are amazing.....I loved the swing.....it was so relaxing! The beach was beautiful! Tarah is so friendly and helpful, she always answered my emails right away...thank you for that! Jimmy Buffett is what brought us to Gulf Shores, and we will definitely be back. Thanks Tarah for making this vacation so stress free! This was our first - and not last- trip to Gulf Shores! Everything was wonderful! The beach toys in the closet was the best! Before we could make it to the store - we had everything we needed to go to the beach! Tropic Isles was wonderful too! We got to meet a lot of families - everyone was so nice! It really is a family place! My son always had someone to play with!

The perfect place for a couple or couple with children to visit. The condo is furnished with everything you need. Wouldn't add or change a thing. The view and comfort of the swing and furnishings of the balcony made for some very relaxing evenings. The dolphin show (must have been over fifty of them feeding right off the beach one evening) was an unexpected attraction. we will never forget. We have recommended this condo to others and will definately return.

We recently spent 8 nights at this perfectly located condo in Gulf Shores. Leading up to our vacation, I exchanged several emails with Tarah to work out the details of our stay. She was prompt in all of her replies and made the whole renting experience quite easy. The condo is located about a 10 minute walk from the "T" intersection in Gulf Shores. Tropical Isles is an 8 story building with only 40 units, so you're not in a massive high-rise complex with 100's of units. It sits between two smaller buildings as well, so the beach wasn't overcrowded. There were no surprises, as the Crabtree's condo is exactly as pictured and described. The highlights for us were simple: keyless entry into the condo, beach chairs to borrow, a well equipped kitchen, an awesome balcony overlooking the ocean, and LOCATION! Unless we left to play golf, our car literally stayed put. We walked to Bahama Bob's for lunch/dinner (highly recommended), walked barefoot back and forth to the beach, and walked to The Hangout and other places at night. It was perfect! Once again, thank you Tarah for everything. We really enjoyed your condo and look forward to returning soon!

THIS CONDO IS PERFECT IN SO MANY WAYS..GREAT LOCATION, RIGHT ON THE BEACH, VERY FRIENDLY PEOPLE AROUND YOU ( WE WERE ON FIRST NAME BASIS WITH THE CHAIR RENTAL GUY) THE WATER WAS EMERAL GREEN, SO CLEAR YOU COULD SEE THE BOTTOM OF THE OCEAN. This condo was wonderful! It comfortably sleeps 6. Anything we needed was there in the condo. Having a dryer in the condo was very nice, especially when we needed to dry towels for the beach! It is a great location and easy to walk places. The swing was so nice to sit on and listen to the waves late at night and enjoyable to sit on and watch the sun rise! This condo was one of the nicest I've ever been to (and I've stayed in many!).

We just LOVED your condo. It had plenty of room and felt like our own home away from home. The pools were great and the beach was right there. We have stayed at many rentals in the Gulf Shores/Orange Beach area and this one is now at the top of our list!!!

We absolutely loved this condo. It could easily sleep 6. The living area and kitchen were large compared to other condos we have stayed in. And the swing on the balcony was a brilliant idea. There was nothing more relaxing than swinging and watching the waves while sipping a glass of wine/beer. It is perfect for kids too! The pool and kiddie pool were great too cool off. The beach is just right there and the beach chair/umbrella rental staff were very polite. I highly recommend this condo as a great experience and a great value.
