Wife and I stayed five nights beginning 03/14/10 and loved our stay. A very quiet, peaceful, and comfortable cabin that's perfect for day trips to local parks, rivers, shops and local night life. Found some great driftwood at Lake Travis park about a 3-4 min. walk from the cabin.

This was a three-day getaway to paradise! Sitting on the front porch made me feel like I was in the mountains, and yet steps away we had easy access to the lake. The cabin is beautiful, comfortable, and cozy with great amenities and the kids loved all the DVD's. SUPER!!

My husband and I planned this weekend getaway to celebrate my birthday. We had a wonderful time and just loved the cottage and all it's surroundings. The hill country and Lake Travis are so beautiful. We found the cottage to have just about everything we could need for a simple and relaxing getaway. If you want to use the washer and dryer, make sure to bring your own detergent. p.s. The owners are very friendly! =)
Owner response:Thank you for your kind review. Sorry about being out of laundry detergent. We normally have that there. If there is anything missing, please let us know and we'll take care of it right away. - Bill.

The cabin was extremely clean and well maintained. It was very quiet and peaceful. It is really nice for 2 people; however, the bathroom is extremely small.

My fiancee and I had a wonderful time this past weekend! It is in a great location for site-seeing and for travelling around the wonderful hill country. The amenities were wonderful and very relaxing. There was nothing to worrry about when it came to having a very peaceful place to rest and relax. Thank you for a wonderful piece of Heaven in the woods on the lake and in the Hill Country. We will return!!!

I know we all left a comment already. BUT, here it is Friday, and I am looking out the window thinking. . . I miss the cabin and quiet peace it gave us. I feel "homesick" for our little piece of heaven on earth. Our 3 girls loved it and our 3 year old thinks we bought the cabin and it is our other home "where the deer our mommy!" Can't wait to come back and enjoy simplicity again. Tracy

We arrived to find icicles melting from the covered porch! The cottage was warm, cozy, and peaceful. We enjoyed the birds, frequent visitors to the bird feeder. We also enjoyed sipping hot chocolate and cider and reading in the evenings. This was a working weekend for me, as I am trying to finish writing a play for the Moondance Festival in April. The cabin is a writer's haven. Thanks for the wireless Internet. This allowed me to work in connection with my writing group in South Texas who are supportive. The Cabin is perfect! Thank you! Bill A's comment - Thanks Ronnie and Cyndie! We have many more nice comments in our guest book. Every year or two I put a sample of them here. They are copied verbatim from our guest book. I've just entered the 7 most recent comments. I also encourage our guests to submit comments on line.

We had a great time at Travis Lake scuba diving - water level low but still it was great! We thoroughly enjoyed the cabin it had everything we would possibly need & more during our stay. We hope to return when we are ready for our advanced open water certification! P.S. We've seen more deer in our short stay then we have our whole lifetime here! Thanks for all!

First,we want to say "thank you" for returning our forgotten dvd that you mailed back to us. We truly enjoyed our stay at your peaceful cabin. Our boys had an awesome time and the fishing was great during our spring break. The only thing that would be nice is an extra chair or larger couch for the living room. We will definitely return again. Thanks again! The Tiedt's

The cabin was wonderful and clean. We enjoyed our stay. The nearby lake park is a definite plus. Great skiiing location. The beds were comfortable & we very much appreciated the clean towels and linens. Had a great nights rest each day & awoke to songbirds. Saw a cardinal, blue jay, & hummingbird! Thanks!

Very cozy cabin! Enjoyed the quiet & the birds chirping. Love the doors on the bedroom and the woodwork above the bedroom doors. And could not find the cutting board. (Note from Bill - Thanks for the comment, and you'll be happy to know that we added a nice cutting board!)

Alexander Cottage is a cozy, sweet little fairy house tucked into the deep woods just up the slight hill from Lake Travis. I loved sitting on the long porch looking over the little hollow and watching the birds flit around. I also very much appreciated the privacy of the cottage as well as its quite well equipped kitchen. The cottage has a very lovely warmth to it that made my stay remarkably relaxing. (I slept quite well for a change!) The owners are very accommodating and I will certainly return for visits in the future!

Wonderful vacation get away! Great Beach! I loved going swimming at the lake! Close enough to Austin if you want to go, but not (too close) if you want country style feel. Had a great time and will tell friends and family.

We had a wonderful time at the cozy, comfortable, and quiet cabin. It was the best relaxation I've had in a long time. We rented a ski boat for an hour at "Just for Fun" (off of 620 and Hudson Bend). Next time we'll try the waverunner! I highly recommend this vacation spot as an opportunity to get away from the chaos of the city to the quiet ambience of the hill country, without all the "touristy stuff."
