Our charming, country-style Vermont guest house/barn is the perfect setting for your family's vacation,both winter and summer. From winter skiing to a summer filled with cool streams & sunshine, it is a relaxing environment in which to enjoy all of nature's beauty in a private, secluded setting, yet minutes from nearby restaurants and great outlet shopping (Manchester Vt.)!
We are a fast 8 miles to the entrance of Okemo and a quick 20 minute drive to Rutland. We also have a nearby gas station/general store as well as 2 really good places to dine, all within 1-5 miles of our guest house.
You'll enjoy a fully equipped, eat-in kitchen (seating 6) with every amenity that the most experienced cook could desire.Two beautiful, generous bedrooms upstairs will provide comfy sleeping along with a king sized sofa which opens to another 2 separate beds in the great room. Both full bathrooms (1 up and 1 down) have tub/shower combinations, hair dryers & all bath necessities along with an abundance of towels and counter space. Both bedrooms have huge closets and delightful, private views from all windows.
There are 4 TV's for everyone's viewing taste, each independently connected to Direct TV enabling everyone to catch the latest news & ski reports, whether in bed, at the kitchen table or in the great room with your family.You will have a private phone line (802 259 3738) & free local and long distance calling.
We emphasize "family" as this is the perfect place for adult relaxation or the enjoyment of a glass of wine while the others are nearby yet busy with games, puzzles or TV within this over 1200 sq. ft.house. The spaciousness of our home will astound you, providing an abundance of space for everyone's needs & privacy.It also lends itself to easily being shared by 2 couples ensuring complete privacy for each one. The entire home is decorated with antiques and art and is a feast for your eyes! We also provide a "keep" library of recent novels which you may start while here & take home with you...our pleasure!!!!
Our 30 acres are secluded yet close to the skiing at Okemo (Ludlow) or Rutland Town activities or 35 minutes to Killington. We remain in residence (across the driveway) year-round and plow & maintain the property as weather prescribes. We can shop (at no additional charge besides the basic food cost) for anything you might need if a detailed list is provided (e-mail is fine)so that your entire vacation is spent doing what you enjoy most & begins as soon as you park you vehicle.
We provide an abundance of games, magazines & books and lots of cozy nooks, chairs, couches & corners for you to get comfy & relax.If you have enjoyed time with us before, please call or e-mail early for a special discounted rate (you'll recall that we are occupied quickly) and would enjoy seeing you and your family again.
We rent for a minimum 3 night stay (special situations, 2 nights), a week, or an entire season. Our policy is a 1/2 deposit in advance by certified check (CC) only & the remainder in cash (or CC) upon your arrival. There is a security deposit required (fully refundable within a week of your departure) with all stays.
Our rental property has always been smoke and pet free and all guests can be assured of an allergy free environment while with us.
It is preferable to call us and discuss rates & availability since we are not on the internet 100% of every day. Our voice mail will store your message & enable us to return your call promptly.
