Our charming, country-style Vermont barn is the perfect setting for your family's vacation. From winter skiing to an entire snow-bird summer, it is a relaxing environment in which to enjoy all nature's beauty in a private, secluded setting.
We are a fast 8 miles to the entrance of Okemo and a quick 20 minute drive to Rutland. We also have a nearby gas station/general store as well as 2 really good places to dine, all within 1-5 miles of our apartment.
You'll enjoy a fully equipped, eat-in kitchen with every item that the most experienced cook could desire. We can seat up to 6 in our spacious eat in kitchen. Two beautiful bedrooms upstairs will provide comfy sleeping along with a king sized sofa which opens to another 2 separate beds in the great room. Both bathrooms (1 up and 1 down) have tub/showers & hair dryers along with an abundance of towels and counter space. Both bedrooms have huge closets and delightful views from all windows.
There are 4 TV's for everyone's viewing taste, each independently connected to Direct TV enabling you to catch the latest news & ski reports, whether in bed, at the kitchen table or in the great room with your family.You will have a private phone line (802 259 3738) & free local calling. You will be billed after your stay for any long distance calls made while here, if needed.
We emphasize "family" as this is the perfect place for adult relaxing or enjoying a glass of wine while the children are nearby yet busy with games, puzzles or TV within this over 1200 sq. ft. restored barn. Do not confuse this with a cookie-cutter type small, cramped condo/ apartment as the spaciousness of this unit will truly astound you, providing an abundance of space for everyone.
Our 30 acres are secluded yet close to the skiing at Okemo (Ludlow) or Rutland Town activities. We remain in residence (across the driveway) year-round and plow & maintain the property as weather prescribes. We can shop (at no additional charge besides the basic food) for anything you might need if a detailed list is provided (e-mail is fine)so that your entire vacation is spent doing what you enjoy most & begins as soon as you park you vehicle.
We provide an abundance of games, magazines & books and lots of cozy nooks & corners for you curl up in & relax. If you have enjoyed time with us before, please call or e-mail early for a special discounted rate (you'll recall that we are occupied quickly) and would enjoy seeing you and your family again.
We rent for a minimum 3 night stay (special situations, 2 nights), a week, or an entire season. Our policy is a 1/2 deposit in advance by certified check (CC) only & the remainder in cash or CC upon your arrival. There is a security deposit required (fully refundable within a week of your visit) with all stays.
