Perched on a hillside between Chocolate Hole (new 5 diamond resort opening soon) and Great Cruz Bay (The Westin Resort), Indigo Villa is a gorgeous 4 BR/5 BTH luxury home with everything you could want for a perfect vacation with family or friends. Now three years old, you will be amazed by the beautiful tropical gardens as you end through the custom gates.
In the tradition of great island villas, Indigo consists of two buildings accessed by tile walkways through lush landscaping. The main house has a very large great room with gourmet kitchen and dining table for 8. Mahogany cabinets and unique green granite counter tops, stainless appliances and more smallwares, china, etc. than any Chef could use, this Villa is set up for entertaining. The main house has a state of the art stereo system with flat screen TV, ipod cord, dvd, cd and vcr. There is an extensive library of books and games. 14' deep porches are accessed from the great room and the lovely pool with granite accented fountain are on the main level for easy access as well. By the pool is a bath with outside shower and enclosed laundry room, sundeck and bbq grill. From the pool deck a lush walkway takes you to two guest bedrooms, one with a queen plantation bed and one with two twin beds that can be joined for couples. Both bedrooms have travertine floors, en suite baths with travertine walls and showers with glass brick wall. These lower bedrooms both have great views of Great Cruz Bay, the Westin Resort and there is a private garden and small porch for privacy.
The second building consists of two identical master suites with king beds and en suite baths, walk-in closets, safes and beautiful mahogany, teak and pine furnishings. The upper bedroom has two balconies with great views of Great Cruz Bay and St. Thomas. The top floor of this bedroom "pod" has been named by the renters the "happy hour tower". This roof top deck is great for sun worshiping during the day and stargazing at night. Views from this tower are nearly 200 degrees and are breathtaking. The roof top deck has built in planters with palm trees and bougainvilla as well as a built in wet bar with sink and refrigerator.

Why the Owner Chose Great Cruz Bay
This island has so much to offer. The main points for us were the fact that over 75% of the island is protected as a National Park due to the efforts of the Rockefeller family. With so much protected land and water the hiking, snorkeling, diving and boating are unmatched. Throw in the unbelievable sailing and fishing and you can't ask for a better vacation.
The Unique Benefits at this Villa
We really enjoy a day of boating over to the British Virgin Islands. The highlight of any trip for first times and return guests is a day a Jost Van Dyke and the Soggy Dollar Bar. Another day can be spent exploring as many beaches as possible (or just hanging out on one great one). Hiking one or two of the many trails within the park system is always a great day. Spend a day or two hanging around the pool at the house and you've just spent a great week on St. John. There are also great restaurants on the island (but none with the atmosphere of the house).

A great market with butcher shop and all other food staples is only minutes away from the house. Food is a little more expensive than in the states but everything you need is available.

After having chartered sailboats in the Caribbean for years and then having a personal sailboat in the Virgin Islands for three years, lifetime friends Hugh Gaskin and Scott Harrelson decided to build on St. John. The process began in 2004 and was completed for a Christmas celebratory trip in December of 2006. St. John is a wonderful island for vacationing with friends and especially with family. This was not built to be a rental so the house is really furnished as though it is a full time residence. We promise that you'll love the porches more than anything and will spend a lot of your time just relaxing there.
