  The owner has made every effort to provide a comfortable and enjoyable experience. If instructions are read and followed carefully (especially regarding the elevator) the house is a warm and spacious retreat with every convenience. We thoroughly enjoyed the access to the beach, it is only a 20 yard walk from the front door to the beach access. We had 8 people for 2 nights and 6 for the rest of the week and we were very comfortable with no inconvenience. Kitchen is well laid out and will accommodate 3 cooks with all utensils thoughtfully supplied. I added one large Pyrex bowl I had brought and that I thought was missing and considered most useful during our stay. We have rented several houses in Santa Cruz and Capitola and always find the people and locations agreeable. Having our own family rental in Indian Rocks Beach, FL we always learn from other property owners and love to incorporate the experience for our guests. This one is well worth the $$$.

  We had a wonderful stay at this property. The home was comfortable and inviting with a excellent layout. We stayed with our children and young grandchildren and the location could not have been better. Even though it is technically across a private street from the beach, it is still just steps away. The home is located at the end of a private, gated road and we were the only family on the beach. It was as though we had a private beach to ourselves! There are locals that walk the beach with their dogs but we did not see any "messes" left anywhere. The two balconies provide excellent views of the sand and surf. The open floor plan makes it easy for family dining. The property was accurately described and was clean upon our arrival. The local market has a great variety of local produce. Great restaurants are just a short drive up the coast. The Crows Nest on the Santa Cruz Yacht has a great salad bar and excellent clam chowder. The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is a must see if only to relive your childhood with the sounds of the Giant Dipper Roller Coaster and smells of Corn Dogs and funnel cakes. The owners are extremely accommodating and provided clear and timely communication concerning all aspects of the property rental, availability and any other questions that may arise. This property is a great vacation value and destination. I have already recommended this property to my friends and plan to return as soon as possible!

  Three Generations of ladies, Grandmother, Mother, and Daughter stayed here 5 nights while visiting my daughter who lives in Santa Cruz. We had stayed 3 days in San Francisco and drove down to Aptos which was about 1 hour, 15 min. I wish we would have stayed a couple more nights. The house is exactly as portrayed, right across from the ocean and extremely clean and well maintained. The owners were very helpful, even coming over to give us towels after the cleaning service forgot to leave some out. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone who would love to relax by the ocean, take long walks and have in general a great vacation. We drove down to Carmel one day, approx. 45 min and also to the mission at San Juan Baptista. We spent one afternoon at Capitola and went to the Shadowbrook restaurant, which is very unique and lovely. In Aptos, we liked the Bittersweet Bistro. The only thing is if you do not appreciate dogs, they are always unleashed on the beach.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

  My family and I recently stayed at this property and had a terrific time. The home was clean, comfortable and had all of the amenities of our home--with one exception--a beautiful view of the ocean. My wife, children and in-laws loved the beach and watching the dolphins swim by. I strongly recommend this place and we will be back. The Bittersweet Bistro was a great find--great food! Also, Diana and Kirk were great to work with.

  The house was large and airy. We love to cook so the very large kitchen with view of dolphins swimming by in the ocean was a real positive. We had plenty of room for the six adults. The place was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The elevator was a huge help since my 80 year old aunt & uncle were not always up to climbing the stairs. Bringing gear and groceries up in the elevator was also nice. (The Deluxe Market on Rio Del Mar Blvd. was a nice find) The view from the two decks was awesome. We spent alot of time out there. The big open floor plan on the third floor made it great for everyone to hang out together and enjoy the views. The kitchen was nicely stocked and clean. The owners responded quickly to all inquiries and picked up the phone when we called. We will definitely be back.

  What a great beach property for a family gathering! We wanted to be close to the beach in a quiet area where we would not need to worry about too much traffic. It was perfect on all accounts. The home was very nicely appointed, clean and offered up wonderful views of the ocean (photos are accurate). Parking is not a problem either. Homeowners were great to work with. I would recommend this property. We hope to rent again later this summer.
