Why the Owner Chose Guntersville
We all enjoy what the relaxing atmosphere that being at Robin's Nest brings. Also, this property is a fishermans paradise year round! We welcome Huntsville and surrounding area church groups and business meetings.
The Unique Benefits at this House
You can travel to many restaurants and shops by boat. Also, there are many seasonal community activities like art classes at local museum, concerts by the lake side, fire works on the 4th of July.
A true bat habitat. Just before dark thousands will exit the cave. People will gather by boat to watch this amazing site.
They sell fishing license and are located approx. 3.7-miles from the lake house. Turn left out of Snug Harbor, travel approx. 3-miles north on hwy 431 and station is on the right. Their phone # 256
Restaurant and bar that you can get to by car or boat. They have outdoor seating
park your boat here and walk a short distance to Sonic and you kids will love it!!
Sonic sells icy drinks, chili cheese hotdogs, hot cheese sticks etc.... Food for those that dont worry about fat grams
A very "local" hang out with outdoor seating and music. Be careful by boat because there are some shallow places when approaching the restaurant as you can see on the map
Owner's Map of Guntersville
I have enjoyed many days at the lake with my family and friends. For some reason at Snug Harbor's, Robin's Nest time seems to slow down. We can find time to relax and discover and enjoy nature and each other. We often play games, paint paintings, sew, play on the water, fish, put puzzles together, cook, read or do those things that we can not seem to find time to do at any other place. Its a different pace and place that everyone should experience

We had a great time at the house. FISHING was awesome there. The kitchen was absolutely beautiful and it had enough beds for an army. The dock was new and the boat traffic was minimal in that area so my boat was not beat to death while tied to the dock. The driveway was steep but I was able to back my boat trailer down it. Guntersville was a convenient drive and we ate there about every night. We had a really good time. The house had some pretty art work as well. I took a great nap out on the screened in porch where the view is simply beautiful! We would definitely stay there again. Thanks Robin.

This could be a wonderful property and maybe was at one time. The layout is nice.with many different gathering areas for large groups. The front porch is wonderful. I booked this property over New Years 2011 for my family and 3 other families who normally gather together at the beach each year. This year we dicided to try something different. Big mistake! Before arrival we were informed that the microwave and washer were broken. At our request the owner asked housekeeping to furnish a temporary replacement microwave. They did, but it also did not work. There were other problems, such as a oddly stocked kitchen cabinets, no extra trash bags, and a fireplace flue downstairs that would not open. Despite these small problems we enjoyed our stay. The real problems started when we returned home and several days later I found a damage fee charged to my credit card - not even the courtesy of an e-mail, just a charge. Once I contacted the owner she claimed to have photos taken by housekeeping (the same ones she apparently had to fire several weeks later), but she never provided those photos. One of the "damages" was a missing kitchen cabinet knob, which I found in a drawer during our visit and where it remained after we left. The other was a broken hinge on the hot tub which apprently went unnoticed by our guests who used it. Finally a bi-fold closet door fell of its hinges during our stay, not from willful destruction, but from poor maintenance. This same group of people have been renting during the holidays for over 10 years and we have never been charged a damage fee or had any problem with an owner in the past. The owner never offered to reduce our charges for the broken appliances. Once I complained about the charges the owner stopped communicating with me, She has not answered e-mails since then, she simply took the money and ran. I wonder how many other people she has ripped off in the same manner over the years? Beware of Robin's Nest!
Owner response: As the owner of the Robins Nest I take risks every time I rent out my house. I often wonder if the guest will care for our house like their own, will housekeeping do the job they are being paid to do, will the guest enjoy the house like I have so many times? People often rent the Robins Nest for large parties and Im fine with that for that. I am also aware that damage can and sometimes occur during such celebrations. Its always a good idea to report damage when it happens to housekeeping or to the homeowner when it happens. By reporting damage beforehand to housekeeping defuses the ALARM that housekeeping has when they show up to see doors off the hinges, broken hot tubs etc.. esp. after the big party. When housekeeping is not notified they can assume the party was out of control and then housekeeping has to "hustle" unhappily to start the process of repairing the damages before the next guest arrive. As the homeowner its always my hope that guests enjoy their stay at the Robins Nest. It is never my wish to take advantage of a guest or is it my wish to have a guest take advantage of the Robins Nest, me, or housekeeping. In closing, the damage deposit was credited back to last guest. Yes, the damage was done to the Robins Nest not only to the property but having received this bad review and I as the home owner absorbed the cost of repairs and absorbed the critical review. Its our goal to continue to make improvements in all areas of running the Robins Nest in order to have happy guests. I thank those who have rented the property in the past and I hope that you will return.

Last Summer, around the 4th of July, my family and I spent four days, on beautiful Lake Guntersville, at Robins Nest instead of doing our normal beach get away down at the Gulf. I can honestly say that I enjoyed the stay twice as much as the beach. It had everything the beach has to offer and then some. The property was every bit as lovely as the web-site depicted. The view is just breath taking. I especially enjoyed the outside fireplace while sitting outside on the open limestone deck, with the opion of the screened porch, to be able to lounge around without the worry of summer bugs to contend with. My wife, 2 daughters, son, son-in-law, and grandson accompanied me on this vacation. They all had a great time. I would like to compliment the owner on the cleanliness and appeal of the Lake house. I trailored my bass boat with me and was within 5 minutes of 2 ramps to access the water. I opted to go ahead and put my boat in the water and just tie up to the boat dock, that is located just below the Lake house. This was not a problem for charging batteries, since there was an outside plug that was just a drop cord away to take care of my batteries. From the dock, this put me within 10 minutes of running time by water, to Browns Creek and Alred Marinea, which if you have ever bass fished on Guntersville Lake, you know that you are in prime fishing waters. We cooked out for a couple of nights, but the Top of the River and Craw-Mommas were 2 restraunts that we visited. Top of the River, seemed to suit my wife better, but the food at Craw-Mommas, got the nod for myself. I would definitly recommend this Lake House to my friends and family, and anyone for that matter that is looking for a great vacation get-away.

Eight of us stayed for 3 days. Correct...this property has many bedrooms. All have old mattresses that are extremely uncomfortable. One of the queen beds is in the basement together with a small shower that only a child could use. Adults had to come upstairs to bathe. The property had not been properly cleaned prior to our arrival...cobwebs abounded and dust balls were all over the floor. There were 3 drinking glasses and 4 plastic cups; the sink was stopped up, and the ice makers did not work. We had to go to the store and pay for a plunger and draino to unstop the sink. We also had to go and purchase ice. The ceiling and walls have water stains and the house is in a general state of disrepair. We would not recommend this house to any of our friends nor would we ever go back. The owner was contacted.
Owner response:I was very sorry to have received such a poor review. I personally checked this property after this guest stay. I had been counting on reports from housekeeping for the past 6-months to monitor and report to me the condition of the house. The reports from housekeeping have been great and I trusted their reports to be accurate. Upon my recent visit to the property I have concluded that housekeeping had not been doing the job I expected. I have since hired new help and I am pleased and I hope my guest will be too.

Our small church's youth group (and some very young siblings) recently spent 4 nights at the Robin's Nest. We were very pleasantly surprised by the roomy accommodations as well as the fun found for all ages! The ages of the participants were 40-something year old chaperones down to a 2 year old and there really was something for everyone. There was a large upstairs bedroom stocked with lots of toys for the youngsters and an attached boat dock for the older children to fish off of. One of our students caught a huge bass which was both fun and exciting. We brought a boat and enjoyed being able to tie up to 'our own' dock between outings. We cliff-jumped, tubed, sat in the hot-tub, and had several Bible studies (enough room to split into groups in different areas of the house) and had a real blessed time! We look forward to going back!!!! Robin is a wonderful person and very easy-going. It really was an all-around great experience.

If you are looking for a great retreat for your family, look no further! Robin's Nest was the perfect place for 7 adults and 5 children (ages 7, 6, 5, 3, and 2). We all enjoyed catching lots of fish from the pier. There was never a lack of activities to do at the house or in the surrounding area. The house has more of the feel of someone's beloved home rather than an ill-equipped rental. This was truly a memorable time. We look forward to renting Robin's Nest again in the future.

It was totally worth the drive from North Carolina for our spur of the moment family reunion. The house was even more beautiful than described. We had 11 people, and there was more than enough room for everyone. There were so many things for all the kids and adults to do while we were there. VERY KID FRIENDLY!! The neighbor's were so inviting and welcoming. We even made some friends that we will continue to stay in touch with. My family looks forward to going back again and again!!
