My husband would like to thank the owners for allowing us the pleasure of sharing their lovely chalet. It was everything we expected and more. The pictures do not do justice to the actual "feel" of this chalet. The area is absolutely breath taking and tranquil. Just what the doctor orders for those who need peace and quiet. The neighbors are friendly, the grounds are secluded, the rooms are spacious (especially the master bedroom), and it has all one could need and ask for. Its like being at home while in someone else's home. We can't say enough things about this place......didn't want to leave. Hopefully we will be able to return in the fall.

A perfect hideaway. It is well-maintained and the appointments tasteful, big bathroom towels, comfortable master bed in the master bedroom. The owner was helpful with providing instructions to find it, since it is off the beaten path. I would stay here again. I would have stayed forever.

We were looking for a quiet, secluded cabin to slow down...and we were so very BLESSED to stay at Wald House; breakfast on the covered porch in the mornings with the sound of the creek in the distance, afternoons with a book in the sun on the open side deck, scenic drives through the mountains, chilly nights were spent on the comfy couch gazing at the stars through the tall windows...just a delightful escape. Erin and Chris put a lot of thought into making their home welcoming to guests and anticipated all our needs for exploring the area; detailed maps, restaurant ratings, fishing poles and walking sticks...and much much more. We watched the sun come up Easter morning from Hooper's Cove...AMAZING! We have escaped to a cabin twice a year for the past 16 years. Only one other cabin have we returned a second time, but Wald House is now our FAVORITE! We will definitely return...hopefully soon.

There were four of us rowdy old gals and this was the best cabin for us. The discription of this cabin is correct so there are no surprizes when you get there. It was so quiet and you could hear the creek in the distance. A really nice, clean and spacious cabin. Very affortable for such a beautiful cabin.

Wald-Haus was a perfect fit for our adventure seeking yet relaxation loving family! Our two children (7 & 5) had a blast romping in the creek, visiting the nearby garden and greeting the chickens! We stayed 5 nights but could have been there longer--so much to see and do in the surrounding areas. We did lots of great hiking, swam at the lake, rode the train and my husband even took an early morning bike ride at nearby Tsali. We loved sitting on the deck and watching the bats perform for us in the evening. The house was beautiful; spotless and so well maintained--the kitchen had everything we needed (plus more) to do our cooking during our stay. Thanks for sharing your chalet with us!

My family of 5 (kids 4,6 and 8) and our dog Blue stayed of 1 week at the end of July, The house is immaculately kept and the area is beautiful. If you are looking for a vacation away from the busy touristy areas this is it; however it is still close enough to do it all. We spent our days gem mining, train riding, berry picking, hiking Appalachian trail and not to forget the most beautiful waterfall (5 minute drive). The kids love exploring the property and playing the creek.

We stayed at this beautiful, comfortable chalet in Robbinsville, NC from April 30th through May 7th. From the very start when I made the reservations until we came home was first class in fact communicating with Erin was like making plans with a family member. Her home in the mountains was everything I expected and hopped they would be. I 'll tell all of my friends and family of our stay and how wonderful it was. I will deffidently will go back.

The property was as described and as photographed. The home was spotless and meticulously maintained inside and out. It's a bit off the beaten path, which is what we were looking for. It was quiet and very private. The owner sent an email in advance, snail mail with the contract and had a binder on-site describing places to eat and things to do in the area. She also called while we were there to ensure that everything was working out for us. Communication - 2 thumbs up! While there are plenty of places to eat within a 30 minute drive, we ate all our meals at the chalet - the kitchen was well-equipped and was a pleasure to cook in. We were there for a long weekend, and hiked every day. There is a Appalachian Trail crossing less than 5 minutes from the site, and a fire road/small parking area. Our second day, we hiked from here to Fontana marina (13 mile round trip), and took advantage of the trout stream for a foot soak when we returned. If you're staying here and get a chance, stop at Yellow Branch Farm & Pottery. In addition to the pottery, they also sell cheese they make from their own herd of Jersey cows. If you enjoy any outdoor activities, there is plenty to do around here - hiking, boating, fishing and swimming.

this is an amazing cabin and experiance. this cabin has everything that you need to have a wonderful vacation. We were snowed in for 3 days had prepared for 3-5 inches and got 16-18 inches. The first White Christmas we have ever had. We missed going to Tenn.to get to see the lights, but the family time playing in the snow and one on one time that you normally do not have with your teenagers was priceless. If you do not mind cooking you have everything there to do so with just bring your groceries, or great place's to eat out. would recomend this cabin as well as her parents to anyone... Allready booked for a trip in June..........GREAT PEOPLE!!!!

Our Family had a great visit. The home is very clean and the furnishings are wonderful. My family loved it all. The kids played in the stream for hours. White water rafting is near in state forest, and is a level 1 for families. Our dog even loved it! Great place you will be very comfortable if you stay in this home.

If you want to truly get away from it all - this is the way to do it. Beautiful and gorgeously decorated cabin secluded away from it all. Everything you need in a cabin and I wanted to pick the house up and take it home with me. If you like to cook, this is the kitchen for you with granite countertops and everything you need within reach. Absolutely loved all the lighting in the home too. If you don't want to fish and like to read, then there is no need to bring a book, there is a great selection there. If you rent the cabin, be sure to turn left and go to "downtown" Robbinsville to get your supplies on highway 129/business 143. Don't rely on your GPS to find you a grocery store or you will end up in Tennessee. Lots of hiking, walking trails nearby or just walk around the cabin itself. You can walk the Appalachian trail in different areas or just take a ride on the famous "tail of the dragon" on highway 129 or the skyway. Great getaway for a family and to get away from "electronic devices" too. You might actually figure out who those people are that live in your house again. Thanks Erin and Chris. p.s. The neighbors are really nice too - they just happen to be Erin's parents.

We stayed at the cabin for 2 weeks from June 12 through 26th. The cabin has everything you would need. The location is nice and quiet, yet easy to get to places. The cabin was clean and was well reflected in the description. We loved to go to 13 Moons restaurant, just 35 minutes away. Went there 3 times. The 'local' menu items were great and cheap, just have to ask for it. Sunday brunch was great (Fathersday). Went hiking on AT, white water rafting and zip lined through Nantahala Forest, all close by. We stayed in the hot time but would love to be here in the Fall, should be beautifull!

We stayed at Wald Haus during Memorial Day weekend. We were not looking to do much and we did just that. The cabin is secluded and extremely comfy. We cooked every night during our stay, everything we needed was provided in the cabin. We did eat at Lynn's in Robbinsville for Lunch one day, good restaurant and good service. The owners have a great selection of movies and games for the family. Direct TV in the cabin was there as well, with a flat screen TV to watch it on. Fly fished the stream and managed to hook a few on a fly rod. The owners are extremely easy to work with and couldn't ask for an easier transaction. Thanks for everything!

We loved the cabin. We loved the creek. We loved it all! The place was spectacular and the location perfect. When realtors say, "Location, location, location," they must mean this part of the Smokies. We swam in Lake Santeetlah, caught fish in the creek, went whitewater rafting, hiked the Appalachian Trail, enjoyed the fire pit, chilled in the hammock and will definately go back. I tried to think of a negative aspect to our vacation and there was none. The owners even provided a book of suggested day trips; that really helped us get started. The decor was wonderful. Everything was upscale. Even the countertops were granite...better than at home! I cannot say enough about Wald Haus. It was a wonderful experience.

We have stayed at this adorable mountain retreat twice now, and have thoroughly enjoyed it both times! It is the perfect place to escape to, it is so comfy for relaxing and unwinding. The sounds of the rushing trout stream are wonderful, and the stream is perfect for refreshing those weary feet in after a day of hiking! We enjoyed many nearby activities while staying at Wald Haus, including hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, hiking in the Pisgah National Forest, hiking in the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, rafting down the Tuckaseegee River, and taking day trips to Chattanooga, Sylva, Dillsboro, and Bryson City. If you are looking for an affordable mountain getaway, this is the vacation rental for you! Whether you need a homebase from which you can go day hiking, hunting, fishing, or canoeing, or you just want a retreat to escape to for a few days, Wald Haus is a complete pleasure!
