You can actually see the lava as pours and erupts from the Earth; sending rocks and dust, sparks and flame, as well as molten rock into the air. Our lovely "Plumeria Place" awaits you on the shores of this amazing and magical retreat! Hear the sounds of native jungle birds, bask in the gentle breeze of our legendary trade winds, and listen the crash of the waves upon the cliffs as you relax and regain your energies in our spacious home. Take refuge in the peace and solace of nature. Inhale the fresh salt air, and let the subtle scents of our native fruits and flowers that surround our home tantalize your senses. This is authentic, real, unspoiled Hawaii.
We are located just 20 minutes From just about EVERYTHING on the East side of the Island including; Hilo town, with great beaches, dining, shopping, galleries, museums and sight seeing. Also nearby are the volcano lava viewing area, Volcano National Park, a beach park called Ahalanui; where you can swim in a natural pool heated by volcanic springs. We are 10 minutes away from both Kea'au; where there is a medical center and post office, as well as Historic Pahoa Town; where one can see the rustic charms of yesteryear. Pahoa also has Malama Market Grocery Store, a post office for your convenience, a Hardware store, an internet cafe where you can check your emails! And the best fish and chips on the Island (in our opinion).
A property caretaker/maintenance person is near by (with-in 10 min. drive time) to assist you with any of your questions or needs during your stay. He can assist you with directions/ideas regarding local sites and attractions.
The house has Travertine tile throughout, and ceiling fans in each room. A very large protected lanai that stretches the length of the house is perfect for WHALE and Dolphin WATCHING (seasonal). The spacious master bedroom has a private bathroom and shower with double vanities, and two other bedrooms that share a bathroom with tub and shower. There is an extensive reading library, as well as a DVD library for our guests. An under sea wall mural decorates the Great Room. An assortment of paintings and renderings by local artists, along with many other unique works of art (many of which are actual artifacts from the Central and South Pacific Islands) adorn each room. There is a 220 degree plus view of pristine coastline. Dolphin, whale, and turtle sightings are common right off shore. Even sightings of the rare Hawaiian monk seal have been reported. Enjoy a swim in our PRIVATE POOL right by the ocean. A short walk down the road brings you to a wonderland of oceanfront jungle and tide pools big enough to swim in.
