Keywords: House
Gorgeous newer home (completed and furnished in June 2009) located at 193 Governors Drive with over 2,700 square feet, 5 bedrooms, 4 ½ baths, and 8’ x 29’ lighted private swimming pool located in the coveted Vanderhorst Plantation (behind the second gate.) The home is an architecturally accurate Charleston style home with French Quarter influences boasting a working gas lantern mounted above a hand made wrought iron railing, vestibule entry way, multiple French doors leading to a covered lanai, multiple outdoor porches and a French balcony. The architectural design offers an elevated 9 foot perimeter wall to create a very private elevated courtyard-style sundeck and pool area.
This home sits on a wooded lot with a screened porch facing the natural wooded area to enjoy an early morning breakfast or evening dinner outdoors but still under a roof. This stunning home has two separate master suites and two living rooms (one on each level) to make a perfect vacation to suit multi-family needs. There are 5 bedrooms in total. The two master suites have Queen-size beds, the 3rd bedroom also has a Queen-size bed, the 4th bedroom has two single twin beds and the 5th bedroom has twin bunk beds. There are also 2 full-size couches for overflow sleeping. It can sleep 12 very comfortably and as many as 14 if the couches are used. There are 4 full baths and a powder room off the foyer area. The two showers in the two master suites have multiple shower heads for a spa-like experience and one has a fashionable iron claw bath-tub for relaxing bubble baths. We have two Rennai instant hot water heaters so there is always hot water which is a must have for families vacationing together. There is a private balcony area located off the master suite upstairs for a late night glass of wine. There is a 30’ upper porch located off the upstairs living room which overlooks the pool. It is a real great cocktail spot at sunset. The house has 2 living rooms so you can send the kids upstairs to watch TV or a DVD movie while you watch something different downstairs. There is an outdoor table in the screened room that seats 6, a granite bar in the kitchen that sits 2 and a dining table inside that also sits 6. This does not even account for the patio set poolside that sits another 5. There is a commercial gas grill outside for your cook-outs. The kitchen is gourmet with a Subzero refrigerator and a Wolf gas range/oven.
I work from the house when we visit so I know what the working traveler needs to remain productive. We have Comcast cable, unlimited free long distance (a true land line) in case your cell phone is out of range, high-speed wireless broadband internet and a printer/fax/scanner for your use. We do not gurantee the ink levels in the printer as it dries up from non-use quite often. It is provided more as a fax and scanner versus printer. This is provided to simply help those who just cannot get away from work but can work remotely. The beach is a short bike ride, fishing and crabbing is near by and the Preserve is around the corner for kayak/canoe launches and picnics.
RENTAL PERK: We have provided (4) adult bikes and (3) youth bikes for your use. To rent bikes for the week is approx. $37/bike for 7 days. This is a real cost savings o about $250 to your trip.
We also have (5) beach chairs so you do not have to rent them at the beach. This is also a cost savings to you.
The furniture is new and we have provided everything you need down to the measuring spoons. It is our “home away from home” so we have taken great pride in the furnishings and décor. We use it in between renters so we ensure it remains in pristine condition.
We have not contracted with a local management company but have received season rental rate quotes from two of the more popular management companies on the Island. The average quoted summer rate was $6,600 per week (without taxes) but the management firms keep a 30% management fee. Since we rent by owner we discount the quoted rental rates by 30% to pass the savings along to you. Our summer rate is only $5,200 per week. There is an 12.5% SC sales tax that will be added to your total. There is also a $200 cleaning fee.
Please do your homework and you will easily see that a new home like ours with 5 bedrooms and a private pool rents well over $6,600 per week. Our price is a real bargain but I want you to do some research for yourself and you will see, too, that this home can save you money to use towards golf, tennis, excursions, etc.
A discount will be considered for longer term stays (more than 1 week) and to repeat users within a 12-month period. To discuss availability and questions please call John .

Fabulous Island Getaway

This house behind the second gate on Kiawah Island is beautiful. We had only four adults and two dogs, but the property can easily accomodate 10 to 12. The architecture is beautiful. The pool is cleverly located and extremely private. The amenities are very high-end. The showers in the master suites are to die for. It's a short ride to the beach, which is simply magnificent. And I can't get over how lush and tropical Kiawah is compared to anywhere else I've been along the Atlantic Coast. There's plenty to do on the island, but it's also just a short drive to the fabulous restaurants in Charleston. The owner was great, too, We highly recommend this property.
Recommended for:Families with young children, families with teenagers, pet owners, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
