The "pied-a-terre" (French for a "flat") is located above the owner's Spanish Colonial house with a separate entrance off the street. The apartment is furnished with all the comforts of home.
Upon entering, one is greeted with a cheerful infusion of colors, visually separating the living spaces of an open floor plan. Its many windows and French doors provide breeziness throughout. Collectibles from different countries lend an air of worldliness with a touch of whimsy.
A hallway leading to the cozy bedroom offers privacy from other guests sleeping in the living room. For the light sleeper, there's a soothing "white noise" machine to camouflage neighborhood sounds.
The well-equipped kitchenette with its granite counter top is ideal for preparing a quick meal or mixing a cocktail. Instead of cooking, check out the nearby eateries of various cuisines and budgets. Or, on a warm sunny day, enjoy a BBQ in the patio below.
Within walking distance are the beaches, shops, banks, restaurants and other amenities. Just 1 block away is the bus stop to the Long Beach Convention Center, Performing Arts Center, Queen Mary, Aquarium of the Pacific, and numerous restaurants in downtown Long Beach and Shoreline Village.
Long Beach, with its easy access to the major freeways, is a convenient base for visiting the attractions of Los Angeles (Hollywood, Universal Studios, Beverly Hills) and Orange County (Disneyland, South Coast Plaza Shopping Center, Huntington Beach, Laguna Beach). For the discerning visitor, stay and play in Belmont Shore, a friendly and exciting beach community of Long Beach.

The condo is 2 blocks from 2nd St in Belmont Shore - full of restaurants, bookstores, art, photography, jewelry, etc. Just about everything you would need. A 10-min. walk thru Belmont Shore takes you to the Pacific Ocean & bike path. A restaurant is nearby & a pier stretches into the ocean for fishing or walking. The condo is compact & beautifully decorated. The cupboards are filled with plates, cups, silverware, knives. The beautiful bedroom has a large mirrored closet with drawers.

Dear Colleen & Al, This lovely apartment has really "made" our vacation in Long Beach. This beautifully designed pied a taire is right in the center of activities in this wonderful neighborhood. Thank you for all the help that you gave us & it was a pleasure to get to know you - Bud It's been a pleasure staying in your apartment. Very comfortable and so very completely equipped with everything one might need. Thank you for having tea with us and getting to know you both. You have a real talent in decorating. I'm sure we will be back again - Best wishes, Barbara

Dear Colleen and Al, We had a great stay in Pied-A-Terre. We had everything we needed and more and were very comfortable. The location was perfect for visiting our family and enjoying the shops and restaurants on 2nd Avenue. We enjoyed meeting you and appreciate all your suggestions for restaurants, etc. We hope to return again and will definitely recommend Pied-A-Terre to our family and friends visiting Long Beach. Thanks again, Pat & Dan Solomon - Nashville, TN

We stayed here for a week and a half in August. We found this apartment very comfortable and immaculate. The comfort level was amazing. The location for 2nd Street was ideal, and we always found a parking spot on the street right in front of the apartment. The only downside we found was that the kitchenette had a small refrigerator and small stove top so we didn't do alot of meal prep here, but hey you are minutes from 2nd street and the food there is great. We would definitely stay here again, and as stated earlier, I feel the hosts are now part of our family.

There was plenty of parking outside which was a big plus & we're at a perfect location with walking distance to 2nd St. Thanks so much for your hospitality & best of luck with your new 3rd location. We really enjoyed our stay at your "Pied-A-Terre." The location was perfect as we were very close to 2nd Street and to many of the local hot spots. Parking was great as the park across the street provided ample parking. The living space was very nice and comfortable as all of the amenities were provided for. The hosts were very hospitable and friendly and would definitely stay there again.

Dear Colleen and Al, The apartment is lovely and my week here has been perfect in every way. I hope to come again. After losing my husband (of 59 years) I really needed to get away and experience a travel venture on my own. I do feel much refreshed. Thank you very much, Carolyn - Denver
