Separated from the left bank, just to the left of Charles Bridge by a narrow stream called Certovka (Devil's Brook), is Kampa, a little island on the Vltava River. The stream passes below Charles Bridge and appears on the other side, bordered by beautiful old houses. This area is sometimes called “The Venice of Prague.” This is the place, where our apartment is located, facing the villa of famous Jan Werich and Jiri Trnka, 30 seconds from John Lennon's wall.
Kampa Island is home to Kampa Museum with its private collection of modern art, which hosts workshops and galleries. The Kampa Island also includes a beautiful park with a playground, a theatre and some charming restaurants with terraces on the water. Three old mill wheels, one of them fully restored, which reminds us that this was once a mill-base and the city laundry, which still worked until the mid 1930's.
Our one-bedroom apartment has been completely renovated to combine the simple elegance of a clean modern interior with a historic townhouse, the building is one of the oldest, build at the turn of the 14 century. The furniture has been carefully chosen for comfort and style, and you may recognize some pieces as modern antiques from the 1950’s. Beautiful hardwood floors, and all original architectural moldings, of course with an original, functioning fireplace.
The apartment is fully furnished with a king-size bed, provided with a broadband wireless internet connection, so bring along your laptop. Linens and towels supplied. The kitchen has all stainless steel kitchen appliances and new cooking utensils. If you’d rather not do the cooking, choose from among the many neighborhood restaurants for a memorable meal.
The apartment is lively and gives off the mixture of warm and cozy- city feeling. You can comfortably relax by the fire and a glass of wine and enjoy a spectacular view of the Prague Castle, interrupted only by a rhythmic noise from the old wooden Certovka Mill Wheel or spend a lazy sunny afternoon on the spacious lawn, which attracts wide range of visitors from elderly, morning dog-walkers to dread-locked frisbee throwers.
This unique apartment is located in the centre of Prague, Kampa Island 250 from the park and Vltava river.
