Brand new mountain cabin located in the Fairplay wine region. The views are beautiful from the wrap around deck overlooking the ridge it sits on. Peace and quite are the norm, no traffic , or city noises. You can see the stars every night (weather permitting). There is wine tasting in Fairplay ( 1 mile away), and in the Shenandoah Valley area (4 miles away). Ski resorts are 1.5 hours near. There are abundant places to go fishing and boating. Sly Park Resort is 1 half hour drive. If wildlife is what you like, we have wild turkeys, deer, and jackrabbits galore. Hiking is available within one mile from the cabin in a forest of 2000 acres.

Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2009
Retired masonry contractor from the bay area. Built the cabin origionally for his children to stay in, but is now willing to share it when it is available. The cabin sits on 10 acres on Coyote Ridge overlooking a forest. Tom is an avid outdoorsman and believes in the protection of wildlife.
Why the Owner Chose Somerset
Owner built. Beautiful views. There is lots of room for horses, chickens and the resident deer.
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
Quiet and peaceful country, close to cities (Sacto 1 hour away, Jackson 45 minutes and Placerville 40 minutes). Close to fishing areas and wine tasting. Room for horses and recreation. Bird watching is one of our hobbies.

The view was wonderful. We saw several kinds of birds, rabbits, and deer. The cottage has great privacy and everything is exactly like it says in the description. This is a rare find. I am a California native who was looking for a great place off the beaten path. This is the spot. We were blown away by the number of wineries within 10 minutes, but we didn't stop at any. After a beautiful drive, we enjoyed the peace and quiet of the cabin. The wood burning stove kept the house warm through the snowy night. The quiet peace and great views are calling us back. We can't wait to go back during the spring/summer to enjoy the deck more.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

We stayed here for our 27th anniversary - the deck is larger than the photo and a wonderful place to enjoy the incredible view and a glass of wine from one of the local wineries (our favorite, Boeger). The accommodations are top quality - great kitchen, wood burning stove, privacy, views, BBQ grill, over-sized bathroom, cozy bedroom with gas fireplace . . , great value for the remarkable cottage! We can't wait to return.

We had a wonderful time. The property and pictures were exactly as listed. The Cabin was clean and comfortable. There was air when needed and a nice wood stove for cold mornings. We have already recommended this property to friends and family. You wouldn't believe how many wineries and tasting rooms are in the area. As native Californians we were blown away. Thank you for a wonderful time.
