We regularly rent vacation homes and found that this one was one of the best stocked, best maintained and most relaxing of any that we have rented. We really appreciated having the opportunity to enjoy this wonderful home and beautiful location for such a rejuvinating vacation. We rented bicycles at Glacier Cyclery in Whitefish and ventured out each day for rides in all directions. At night we shared wonderful dinners on the lovely deck overlooking the Flathead River. We highly recommend this property.

It Doesn't Get Much Better Than This

The house has a contemporary, solid, clean, comfortable feel and is in a fantastic setting, right on the river. It provided a great internal space for the 5 of us -- playing cards, reading ghost stories, savoring our breakfasts on the deck. The location is only a few minutes from the West Glacier entrance, which allowed us easy access to explore the jaw-droppingly awesome "sculpture work" left by the glaciers in the many-layered mountains. The McDonald Lake Lodge was also within easy reach and we really enjoyed our dinners there. Compliments on what you've assembled; it certainly worked well for us. Thank you for sharing it.

If you ask me if the pictures do this property justice I would have to say "no way." A picture can't possibly capture the reality of what lies in store. The house is awesome, but it is the surroundings that truly set it apart. Views of the mountains, the river, the secluded feel are all part of what makes it special. In spite of the pictures we had seen, the information we received ahead of time and our previous experience with VRBO, we were overwhelmed upon seeing this house and broken-hearted when it was time to go. I highly recommend it.

5 Star Home on the Flathead River

This property is exactly as described in the listing and photos. Our party of 10 guests felt right at home with the fully equipped kitchen, full entertainment system, and outdoor seating by the river. The bedrooms were very comfortable, and there were lots of toys for our toddlers and infant to play with. This property has the perfect balance of remoteness and good proximity to a 24-Hr Super 1 Foods grocery store, 20min access to Glacier National Park. We saw more animals wandering along nearby roads of the property than in the National Park itself! Also nearby was Pinewood Park & Community Pool, which had a shallow baby and toddler pool area with sprinklers shaped like a turtle and fire hydrant. We would definitely stay here again, at this 5-star cabin by the river.

The pictures and description fit this home well. The location on the river was very nice, just outside the park and made our excusions into the park very easy. Use the Blankenship back road, it was well maintained and really cut our travel time. Watch for the deep puddles going into the home, they should disappear after high water is over. The home was clean and the kitchen was laid out well for buffet style dinners and visitng. The high ceiling and windows were wonderful to view the river but it made the home somewhat noisy, or was that just my kid. Plenty of storage was available for personal supplies although the refrigerator and stove could not quite handle everything we brought to prepare and cook. I could have used a couple more burners on the stove.. The master bedroom was wonderful and the lower single room as well. The additional room with the full size bunks would work really well for kids, it's not so great for adults. Sitting on the deck overlooking the river and the camp fire was very nice and will be even better once the weather warms up just a bit more. Would I recommend this home? Yes I would. It worked very well for a small family gathering and we had a wonderful time sharing old stories and creating new ones.
Owner response:You have been such a pleasure to work with! I greatly appreciate you taking the time to write a review & so quickly! Our extended family thoroughly enjoyed staying at this home! It was beautiful and spacious, and every amenity was provided. We were close to Glacier Park, which allowed us lots of options for our daytime adventures. At night, we looked out over the river and marveled at the beauty of the scene around us. What a comfortable, beautiful place. We didn't want to leave!!
