Location: Wrightsville Beach, Southern Coast, Coastal, North Carolina, USA (One Block to the Beach!)
Accommodations: Duplex, 4 Bedrooms, 4 Baths (Sleeps 8-10)
Enjoy the serenity and beauty of Wrightsville Beach, a 4 mile long island near the historic town of Wilmington, NC. It is generally devoid of high-rise buildings, and consists mainly of single-family homes, small condominium developments, and a small commercial district. It has a unique blend of quiet beaches with cultural activities a short drive away.
This duplex is 5 years old with new carpet and upholstering one year ago. The fully equipped kitchen has granite counter tops with a long bar with 6 barstools. There is a breakfast table with six chairs and a dining table that seats 8 easily. A separate sitting area has 2 couches and 2 chairs with a fireplace and plasma TV. All of this is in a great room with vaulted ceilings and a phenomenal view of Banks channel, marsh, and the intracoastal waterway. A covered porch runs the length of this great room for even better views of the water and sunsets!
The master bedroom has a king bed and TV. Downstairs are 2 additional bedrooms, one with twin beds and one with bunk beds, a day bed, and a trundle bed that will sleep 4 kids. Upstairs is another bedroom with a double bed and a small deck with limited ocean views. Each bedroom has its own bath.
The unit has a private elevator, parking for 4 or even 5 cars, and a dock with a nice gazebo overlooking Banks channel. The end of the dock is floating with accommodations for a 40 foot boat and deep water at low tide. The ocean is only a block away! There is a private outdoor shower on the ground level.
You will love playing and walking on the beach, swimming, surfing, shelling, fishing from the surf or one of the two piers on the island, biking, or running or walking "the loop", a popular 3 mile journey around Harbor Island which separates Wrightsville Beach from the mainland. Tennis courts and a wonderful park for kids are nearby. Kayaks and motor boats can be rented on the beach or Harbor Island.
Numerous restaurants are either within walking distance or a short drive back to the mainland. Upscale shopping is available at Lumina Station or Mayfaire, only a 5-10 minute drive away. The historic district of Wilmington is only 15 minutes away. Downtown Wilmington is thriving with shopping, restaurants, bars, historical tours, and tours of the famous USS North Carolina battleship. The North Aquarium is 20 minute drive and history buffs will enjoy tours of nearby Fort Fisher and other Revolutionary War and Civil War sites.
