Magical, architect-owned, 1920's vintage cottage, completely renovated in a unique, enchanting style with volume, bead board ceilings, cedar beams, wagon wheel lights, front and rear enclosed porches including 26 French windows, only two houses from a private beach. This is the quintessential Union Pier cottage, updated with modern conveniences such as wireless internet, cable TV, microwave, and washer/dryer, yet still maintaining the classic feel of a Michigan cottage. One of the bathrooms has a jacuzzi tub and walk-in shower. Huge patio has comfy chairs, large table, and fire pit nearby. Great room has wood-burning fireplace. Loft space has two enormous stained glass windows recycled from an old Chicago church and can be used for two extra sleeping spaces or "Zen" room for doing Yoga or Tai Chi while overlooking Lake Michigan. Natural pine, Douglas Fir, hardwood floors throughout plus endless windows all contribute to bringing the feel of the outside perennial garden and 100 year old pine trees inside.
Take a walk down the pine tree path with the overhead hanging lights to the private beach and enjoy the incomparably beautiful sunsets. Bonfires with Samores on the beach will be memorable for years to come. With only 30 yards to the private beach access, the sunset can be viewed during appetizers with family and friends, after which a bountiful dinner can be enjoyed in the dining room in the enclosed front porch. Eclectic elements such as parts from an old wooden sailboat are incorporated within the renovated architecture. Partial a/c.
