BRAND NEW RENTAL! Gorgeous, cozy little cabin overlooking majestic Lake Superior. 80 foot cliff offers a very rare view of the lake. Fire pit on the edge of the cliff makes for magical evenings and gorgeous views of the moon rising and the sunrise (don't forget your own firewood)! The screened in porch is a perfect spot for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just relaxing with a good book. The private outdoor shower with a view of the lake provides a unique experience you won't soon forget (and yes there is an indoor shower as well)!! There are two bicycles available for you to enjoy. An easy and fun 3 mile ride into town or the 1.5 mile ride to the beach at Grants Point. Access to the lake is a bit tricky but quite possible for the more adventurous types. A stairway takes you half way down and the rest is a fairly steep traverse trail with a secured rope. Not too difficult but adults should always accompany children. As you can see this small cabin's decor is warm and charming. The big soft leather couch makes for a great place to take that afternoon nap with a view of the lake right at your feet. Inside the cabin is a quaint little propane fireplace to remove the chill of a cool evening.
Nestled in the forest there is routinely deer in the yard, bald eagles soaring overhead and families of ducks swimming by. The glider on the cliff makes for a great place to meet for that morning cup of coffee!
Please note - to help with meal planning - this cabin does not have an oven. There is a microwave, stove, coffee pot, toaster and of course a charcoal grill!

Why the Owner Chose Madeline Island
While traveling north from Kansas City one summer to escape the heat we were fortunate to happen upon the magic of Madeline Island. With no intention of buying a vacation home we fell in love with the island and were lucky to have found this charming cabin. In our opinion it's the center of the universe!!

Stayed at this cabin for seven days in mid August. The weather was perfect everday. T shirt and short during the day and maybe a light sweater or long sleeve shirt at night. Played golf at the island golf course, ( very challening), and rode bikes, etc. The nightime fires at the fire pit were unbelievable. The nights we were ther the wind was always at our backs... we never had to move our chairs because of smoke in our face. Amazing, spectacular, awsome, unbelievable! I could go on but words do not due this place or the island justice. I would recommend this place without reservation it is truely a very special place!
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, adventure seekers, girls getaway, families with teenagers.

We loved this cabin. The view and the grounds are amazing. The cabin itself is perfect - just the right size and amenities for a family of 4. Our kids (8 and 10) loved the cliff and the rocky beach. They spent a lot of time collecting rocks and exploring the area. It is the most peaceful place I've ever stayed in. No TV, no phone, and no wireless (cell phones with data plans still work). We definitely plan to return.
