The mountain home is something to behold. Brand New (2009) and has just opened for vacation rentals in June 2009. This custom designed log cabin has no stone left unturned.
A beautiful rhododendron staircase leads to a huge loft which overlooks the great room and is set up for extra sleeping, relaxing or great fun and entertainment. Rustic touches can be found everywhere including antique chestnut beams and very high ceilings showcasing timber frame trusses.
As the wonderful summer night temperatures dip here in the mountains, enjoy dining or just take in the nature by the stone outdoor fireplace located on the full length back deck which has both open and covered areas and a grill for the delicious BBQ. So pull up a chair and rest your feet!!
The kitchen has lovely granite counters and is equipped with everything you’ll need to add to this an awesome vacation. The custom dining table seats 8 and the granite island equipped with bar stools accommodates additional seating. The great room has a huge stone fireplace, comfortable seating, and 52” flat screen TV w/cable located above. Enjoy our large library of DVDs and videos or get around the table with the family and play some of our many board games.
Attention to detail can be found in this cabin’s every room as it is superbly furnished with new and stunning antique furniture along with the extra accessories that will make you feel right at home. Each bedroom has it own private bath loaded with plush towels & hair dryers. The large master bedroom has a sliding door which leads to the deck entertainment area and the master bath has a his/hers double granite sink, a beautiful, large soaking tub, PLUS a large, tiled, walk-in shower. Enjoy the separate laundry room with laundry sink, new front loading washer/dryer PLUS furnished laundry detergent.
River Mill Lodge goes above and beyond to ensure the finest in family accommodations. We’ll even stock your fridge & pantry with your favorite items upon request. We also have a Pack N Play and high chair for the little one upon request. So come and enjoy all that this great area has to offer. Year Purchased: 2008
Hi, my husband and I grew up around the Atlanta area. We have always loved the beauty and serenity of the mountains. As our middle daughter was on the college search in 1998 we visited Appalachian State University which is located in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains. Well, long story short, our daughter fell in love with App State and we all fell in love with the Appalachian Mountains. It didn't take us long to pack our bags, buy a home and settle in. We've been here ever since and love every minute of it.
Why the Owner Chose Valle Crucis
We happened upon a gorgeous tract of land on 46 acres with a beautiful bold river bordering it and we just could not pass it up. Finding property which has both breath taking mountain views AND a river in the mountains is very hard to find. But find it we did and we built an absolutely stunning custom log cabin on it and decided to offer it for others to enjoy. The views are spectacular and the property also has a wonderful pond and fishing boat.
The Unique Benefits of this Log Cabin
Mountain vacation rentals with river frontage is extreme hard to find, however, you've got it here. The river is absolutely beautiful. Also, enjoy the spectacular view from this home. The back deck has mountain views along with the picturesque view of a beautiful barn (which is said to be the 2nd largest barn in North Carolina) and pasture. This property is tucked away for privacy but then again very close and convenient to all the local attractions, shopping and dining that you could want.

It was an absolute pleasure to stay in this beautiful home for a week. It was pure joy to wake up to the magnificent view each morning. I love the barn style of the house and all the natural elements. This was a wonderful place to come home to each day after all of our adventures. The kids loved fishing in the pond and paddling the boat. We hope to return here again to "River Mill" in another season. Whoever designed and built this home did a magnificent job! It is surely a million dollar view! The feeling of peace and quiet you get sitting on the porch is as lovely as anywhere in the world.
