East Marion house description
This super romantic six-bedroom house was originally built as a coast guard life saving station in 1895.
It has just been beautifully renovated to maintain its classic farmhouse charm, but with all the modern conveniences anyone would want. There is a huge kitchen and dining room with two sinks, two ovens, a six-burner WOLF stove and a huge amount of work space.
With abundant farm stands and fresh fish at your fingertips, this kitchen is the ideal place to cook and entertain. The large table seats 14, allowing everyone to gather around the dinner table. It's perfect for the ultimate dinner party.
The House is the ideal place to relax and getaway from it all. It has plenty of room for everyone to stretch out - a master bedroom with a king size bed, and 5 guest rooms all with Queen size beds.
One room has an optional crib as well. The fourth floor of the Tower has an optional 7th bedroom. Climb up the ladder from the third floor where you have a desk and work place and crawl into a cozy bed where you are greeted with panoramic views.
The Master bathroom has a steam shower and 6 foot bathtub. There are 4 bathrooms in all. The tower is five stories high, with a stunning room at the top to look out in all directions from an amazing vantage point.
There is a loft-room with a 65" TV and full cable service. The house is equipped with wireless internet. There is central heat and AC, and there are ceiling fans in most rooms.
The House lies on 3 acres of land in East Marion, New York with 300 feet of private beach on the Long Island Sound. It has a 50' x 16' swimming pool, ideal for swimming laps and lounging in the sun.
There is a big rambling yard all around the house that leads down to the beach. Swim or sunbath on the private beach or relax in the shade on one of the four porches. This is a great house for huge get together's.
Whether it is 6 couples or 3 families, there is plenty communal space for everyone to be together. The House also has numerous little hideaways for when you need time alone to read a book or take a nap. The possibilities are endless.
Visit the renowned wineries of Long Island. Tour the former whaling town of Greenport, with all its cultural charm, reminiscent of the Hampton's in the 50' s and 60' s. Here you'll find excellent restaurants and cafes.
Explore Orient State Park and the local nature preserves. Ferries to Shelter Island, Sag Harbor, East Hampton, and Connecticut are a short drive away. Year round, this is a beautiful spot to visit.

A weekend at the Tower House
A weekend at the Tower House
We stayed at the House the weekend of our daughter's wedding at Raphael Vineyards. The house was amazing and every bit as wonderful as the wedding! Family and friends gathered at the house before and after the wedding. It was very warm and welcoming. The wedding party dressed at the house and many of the pre-wedding pictures were taken there. All spectacular! The beds were comfortable, the house clean, the kitchen to die for and the setting and grounds were magnificent. We are already planning our next stay.

Waking Up in Another Era
Waking Up in Another Era
If you've ever wondered what it's like to live in another time, this house is for you. From the moment we arrived at the Tower at Rocky Point, we felt like we'd traveled back in time 100 years. We love historic homes this one does not disappoint. If you want atmosphere, this is it. Even your children will love it. You feel as if you are staying in the home of friends. The six, wonderfully decorated bedrooms are warm and comfortable. Four bathrooms are more than enough for all guests and two have claw foot tubs for those who want to take a relaxing soak after a day out and about. The view from the master bedroom is amazing with a private balcony where we watched the waves crashing over the rocks (you can even see the waves from sitting on the bed!). The grounds are stunning and a short walk down the backyard path leads you to a private, rocky beach. You may see herds of deer running through the property, we did. There is plenty of privacy and the decks around the house are great for sitting with a cup of coffee or glass of wine. If you like to cook, the kitchen is a cook's paradise. Fully equipped with all utensils and cook/bakeware you could ever need, we made all of our meals at the house. If you aren't inclined to cook yourself, there are numerous restaurants in nearby Greenport and neighboring towns. There is a huge wall of windows in the dining area and plenty of seating for everyone. In fact, there are places all over the home to sit and enjoy yourself. Antique and vintage furniture that is meant to be enjoyed and not locked away 'for company' is everywhere. We used the fireplace all three nights, there is plenty of firewood! All of us swore that there was no place in there that we didn't enjoy being in. We kept rotating rooms just so we could experience it all! (If you need to stay in touch with the 21st century, there is a loft room with 65 inch tv and wi-fi access). You cannot stay at this house without exploring The Tower! The first night we were there, we went right up to see it. It's fairly easy to climb the very sturdy stairs and we were amazed at the view. My husband loved it so much he even went up there one day to play guitar. We had a blast for my husband's birthday and we plan to go back very soon. We were sorry to leave but excited to know it is very close and we can easily return. I highly recommend you stay here at least once.

Enchanted house and garden
Enchanted house and garden
Our family stayed at the Rockypoint house in July 2011 and it has been one of the nicest vacations - if you are looking for a place to unwind and relax, and within a 2-hour drive from the city - this enchanted house and garden will do the trick: picturesque sunrises and sunsets, privacy at the rocky and beautifully rough beach (most of the time, but especially if you go there at sunrise), solitary swims in the pool surrounded by dense "jungle"... bird, rabbit and deer-watching while you dine outside, and majestic vistas from the stunning and unique tower. We had our two grown children with us, each of whom invited a friend over at some point - and the place did not feel crowded at all - everyone had enough space for being alone and to socialize when we felt like it... Of course, the town of Greenport with its many restaurants, little shops and galleries is just around the corner - so dining out is easy, with a short car-ride. The lavender field with a nice shop at the end of the Rockypoint Road was a source of many fragrant souvenirs and gifts we took home, as well as some interesting wines from the local wineries... hope to come back another time. Thank you for the wonderful experience and beautiful memories..

Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway.
My family spent Colombus Day weekend at this house and it was amazing. The house is so large and the property is beautiful. It has plenty of room for everyone and pictures do not do it justice. The area around the house is great with wineries, pumpkin picking and Greenport at your back door. We are hoping to return again some time in the future.
