My wife and I greatly enjoyed our vacation at this property. It is exactly as described. No unpleasant surprises. It is well positioned to go visit Bahia Honda State park, and Key West. We like that it was a quiet and secure community. There is a guarded gate that is manned 24/7. Often times, we did not even lock up. I launched my 15 ft fishing kayak from the dock and fished out in the ocean and the gulf side. had a blast on the gulf side flats with snapper, cuda, and sharks. Lots of great bait shops within a couple miles of the house. Also, lots of options for buying fresh seafood to bring back and cook. We would definately stay here again. The owners are wonderful people to work with.

There is no way to describe how great this rental was. Tara and the Venture Out security and staff were great on anything you could have asked for. Cindy at the gate and Bunky that takes care of the property were a great source of information on anything you could have wanted to know. This is our fourth trip to the keys and we will have to rate this on our top list. The fishing is best on the incoming tide as I found out on our last night when I pulled in a 20 pound gag grouper. You can also see tropical fish swimming at the seawall. We took our two peekapoo's with us and we had a great time. I would like to say a thank you to Tara for sharing her wonderfull home with us for a GREAT vacation. Matt and Mo

Great Location! We came down with our jet ski's and loved the private dock w/ mooring whips. Also, the private boat ramp and marina was a BIG conveinence. We discovered Murray's local grocery around the corner on US1 a plus. The Winn Dixie in Big Pine is VERY overpriced, so the 20 min. drive to Publix in Key West is worth the trip! Bahia Honda State park (14 mi. north) had an awesome beach and a great snorkeling trip out to Looe Key (make on-line reservations). The Square Grouper Restaurant in Cudjoe was excellent. Overall, the house was comfortable, however the furniture is dated and the kitchen could use some upgrades. Tara was very nice and helpful with any matters.

The owner couldn't have been nicer or more helpful, she was great to deal with from start to finish. The house was clean and as described, was perfect for us and the other couple that went with us. We like to cook and the kitchen was well stocked with nice pots, utencils, dishes and other things you wouldn't expect to find in a rental unit. The only reason I have for not giving an excellent rating is that we had our dog with us, a yorkie and upon arrival Venture Out gave me a whole sheet of separate rules for pets. There was really nowhere to walk a dog. Fortunately ours is small and we didn't really have a problem. I just got the feeling that they'd really rather not have dogs there. The house suited our needs perfectly and the location of it on the water can't be beat. Also easy travel to grocery and drug stores and not a bad drive to Key West. I'd go back in a minute. Thanks Tara for everything. Lorie

My wife and I (and pups) spent the week after Christmas at this property. Positives: spectacular view (I could have sat on the back deck and stared at the water for hours; wait a minute, I did exactly that); beautiful breeze; amenities such as the pool; clean and comfortable; friendly neighbors; fairly well-stocked kitchen; only about 30 minutes from downtown Key West. Slight drawbacks: we knew this going in, but while we were grateful to bring our dogs, it's not uber-pet friendly, in that you need to make an effort to find a place to exercise the pups; properties tightly squeezed together; too many children or more accurately too many parents who neglected to teach their children that screaming at the top of their lungs is not necessary (go when school is in session, if you can). Overall, my wife and I had a fantastic time; the positives far outweigh the slight drawbacks and I'd definitely go back. And next time I'm bringing a boat because the property is perfect for one.

My husband and I stayed at this property for 2 weeks in December. We very much enjoyed our stay and didn't want to leave! Waking up every morning to the view from the back deck was priceless as we sat and enjoyed our coffee and watched the sunrise. Although watching the sunset from Key West was also beautiful, we often found ourselves heading back to the house to admire the sunset with a glass of wine. The house was fully stocked with kitchen equipment, so we were able to fish all day and then head back to make fish tacos, grilled, fish, or blackened fish. We very much enjoyed our stay and look forward to booking again for next year!

Just wanted to shoot you a message to let you know we really appreciated the week long vacation at your house! I had friends from South Carolina and Minnesota stay this past stay in July 2011 and they all had a blast! This is our second time staying at your house - we stayed last year in June of 2010 and had a really great time! We will definately be back next July for another week long stay! Your location is in a perfect location - easy to get downtown to Key West as well as anywhere else. The local resturants on Cudjoe Key are excellent - especially the Square Grouper and The Wharf! We rented a boat for the week as well and had a great time out on the ocean - from where your house is located we were in the middle of the Atlantic within 15 minutes! Absolutely a great place to stay! Thanks again!

My husband and I had the wonderful opportunity to take advantage of this beautiful location. We were also able to surprise my 91 year old mom who lived in the Keys for 25 years for a 4 day vacation. The location, the views, the home was wonderful. We also brought our cocker spaniel, Dusty who loved swimming in the bay. We had a wonderful time and hope to be able to go there again. I recommend this spot for anyone who wants a quiet, private getaway and still be close enough to all the activities. Thank you so much. Toni

My husband, two sons 10 and 11, and mother in-law loved our vacation at your home in Cudjoe Key. My husband and I really enjoy staying in Key West, but were unsure about taking the kids, so we decided on more laid back vacation, which is how I came across your home. It was everthing and more than we expected. We were close enough to Key West to enjoy breakfast at our favorite spot Blue Heaven, and our favorite beach at Fort Zachary Taylor. My husband loved fishing right outside the house. One of our favorite attractions is the Dolphin Research Center. The boys loved painting T-Shirts with the dolphins. This is a non-profit business worth checking out. If you love Dolphin, it is very infomative and and fun. We hope to visit again.

This is most wonderful vacation at your house!!! We swam in front of the house and snorkled to see the fish and lobster. The sunrises and sunsets were just increadible! We had our coffee on the deck. We used your recommendation for Underseas diving center and the people were just wonderful. On the dive boat, a German, who was from where we live in Heidelberg, Germany! He was so excited to speak with us and my daughter even spoke a some German with him! We went diving in Looe Key at the Underwater Music Festival and even saw a shark! They said that it was the best day they ever had at the festival. We spent one day and evening in Key West visiting Sloppy Joe's and Hogs Breath Saloon. The kids went to Ripley's. Mostly, we just stayed at the house - hanging out and swimming. Our daughter, neice, and nephew loved our trip - we had great quality family time together. We will be back again next year in Florida so my huband and I talked about returning for a week again at your place. Everything was perfect - we didn't want to leave. Thanks for everything. Everyone was so nice and friendly!

Being that our daughters are older now makes it difficult to get together for a "family getaway" anymore unless it someplace special as the Florida Keys. We were invited to spend a few days at Tara and Milt's home on Cudjoe Key at the end of June, 2010. Upon arriving at our destination we were overcome by the breath taking view of the Atlantic sitting right in front of us as we walked up the stairs and onto the front porch of the home. The two bedroom/two baths were more than adequate for us along with a large living room, dining area, plus a spacious kitchen were perfect accommodations for our family which include a HD TV set in the living room that made for feeling right at home! I might say that the home was well kept, clean, neat, and full of modern fixtures. Siting on the front porch with its Northeast breezes and land views of Summerland Key provided the ultimate experience of "letting the world go by" and "everything just lifted off my shoulders" was total ecstasy! The "Venture Out" village in which their home is located was extremely clean and neatly organized with appropriate rules for all living there. The village included a well stocked general store and convenient boat launch and dry space along with a recreation center with WIFI hook-up. Besides the esthetics of its location, I believe the fact that their home is just 20 miles north of the city of Key West and a 25 minute drive into the heart of Key West activities to be a bonus to their home that became an asset. Knowing that we had to leave by 10:30 AM on our last day my daughter and I left at 7:00 AM for Key West that morning, stopping for coffee at Big Babies and were taking pictures at the big Bouy, having breakfast at the Blue Heaven Restaurant and touring the Hemmingway House and visiting the lighthouse across the street we were back by 10:45. Of course, knowing to avoid the morning traffic of Key West by taking the back routes to downtown helped! You will enjoy visiting Key West from this location which will help make for the ultimate getaway!

We spent a long weekend here and we trully found a little piece of heaven. We fell in love with the ocean front, patio, and highly recommend watching the sun rise over Summerland Key. It is very well kept and well furnished - we didn't want to leave. You have the best of both worlds because the Lower Keys is great for all the outdoor activities that we love: scuba, snorkle and kayak, while it is a short drive to Key West. We'll be back for sure. Cheers to a beautiful house and a geat area.

My only concern is this BEST KEPT secret in the lower Keys gets out....because this place really is special and I will def be going back! Stayed for three days in May 2010 and let me tell you, the house itself is amazing, the sunrises from the living room and back deck are spectacular. An easy drive to Key West but way out of the busy area. I sat outside and fished off the seawall all night long and had a great time doing it! Napped in the hammock during the day....just a dream.

5 Stars! Absolutely gorgeous! The privacy we had was great and the ocean view was breath taking! We were able to sunbathe and swim everyday just 10 feet from the back door. We watched the sunrise every morning as we had our coffee and one morning we were even treated to a group of dolphins playing right near our dock! There were also plenty of nice Keys style restaurants near us that were great as well. A short drive to Key West and you can enjoy the shopping and nightlife then when you are done come home to a nice peaceful, private setting...PERFECT! Highly recommended! This will be our vacation spot every time we travel to the keys from now on!

My husband and I absolutley love your home in Cudjoe! The house is perfectly located on the ocean and we were able to dock the boat right behind the house! A dream come true every morning. And we when didn't want to take the boat out we were able to snorkel right off the seawall-AMAZING We both loved the comfort and beautiful views and plan on revisting many more times! Thanks Terri
