We are a married couple with 3 children. Our oldest boy has been coming to Saugatuck for years with relatives and still enjoys coming now with his wife. Our middle boy enjoys weekends at the lake with his friends and our little one is just now starting to enjoy those weekends with his friends.
Why the Owner Chose Saugatuck
We really like the fact that it is only 2 1/2 hours from home. You are far enough away that you feel like you are away yet close enough to home that if something happens and we need to get back, we know we can be home in less than 3 hours.
The Unique Benefits of this House
There are so many things to do in Saugatuck: you can go on dune rides, ride a paddle wheel boat, go to the beach, enjoy some wonderful restaurants, go for a romp on the beach. If you just want to sit on the deck and watch the world go by, you can do that as well!

This property is gorgeous and very well maintained. There is so much to do in the area. Lots of shopping, restaurants, and the beautiful beach is just a quick drive. We rented it with four other couples and there was plenty of space for everyone. The chain ferry is within easy walking distance. It is a quick drive to town when the ferry is not in operation. Great Place!
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

Upon entering the property, it is evident that this is very nice, and well kept. The first floor is an open concept, that has a country feel. The floors are hardwood, furnishings new and the layout is quite nice. The down stairs has a large game room, and extra bedrooms, with a full bath. The upstairs has additional bedrooms and a full bath. All rooms are fully furnished, and pleasent. This property is very close to the chain ferry so getting across the river is very easy, The area is tranquile, and makes for a nice a to walk around or jog. The property is reasonably close to markets, restaurants and the village. The rental process was quite easy and the agent is friendly very accomadating. This property makes for a first class meeting place or vacation spot.

Wow, what a TREMENDOUS place to get away. Well worth EVERY penny - the house itself is a slice of heaven - with it's gorgeous granite kitchen, beautiful hard wood floors and open, airy atmosphere. The location is GREAT - nestled right in the midst of the beautiful wooded dunes with a wonderful view of the water. Quiet and peaceful, yet just a hop skip and a jump away from downtown Saugatuck OR the beautiful Oval Beach. Family and I had a reunion there - there was PLENTY of room for all of us, the accomodations were tremendous. Thank you, Saugatuck Chateau! We can't wait to return!
