Why the Owner Chose Jamestown

I absolutely love this house. Every time I pull into the driveway I feel like I have arrived in paradise. Island life is simple and Jamestown is one of the most beautiful towns going. It is a very community oriented, "Mayberry" type of hometown with farms, rocky coves, marshland, and a spectacular peninsula that hosts the lighthouse at Beavertail State Park.

The Unique Benefits at this Cottage

Built in 1910, this small cottage is tucked inside a secret garden. The private porch overlooks a yard full of wildflowers, roses, flowering trees and other gardens. It is the kind of home where you can sit all day and watch a robin build a nest.

Lovely Quaint Cottage

Date of Stay: 09/25/10 Review Submitted: 11/13/10

My husband and I stayed in this romantic cottage the last week of September and although the weather was not what we desired, the cottage was! A very quiet neighborhood surrounded the lovely cottage but it took only minutes to reach the highway or the small town of Jamestown. The home is not luxurious but it is sooo liveable! Comfortable furnishings (great bed) and kitchen is nicely stocked with all the utensils and nice appliances. One of the best things about the cottage is the fantastic front porch overlooking the beautiful huge yard. Morning coffee or afternoon tea here is so relaxing! Along with the cute cottage is the great town of Jamestown. We ate at Slice of Heaven for breakfast two days, Trattorio Simpatico, Chopmist Charlies and even Ace's Pizza by the only supermarket in Jamestown. No place disappointed us! Great location to visit the beautiful homes of Newport and tour the historical town. Side trips were made to Mystic, Conn., New Haven, and Providence. Julie (the owner) is so sweet and will go out of her way to make sure your stay is perfect.

Cozy spot in great neighborhood!

My husband and I stayed for a long weekend with our 18-month-old daughter and had a great time. We walked into Jamestown every morning, which was a lovely walk through a gorgeous neighborhood. The garden at the cottage is wonderful and the property is very private, with a pretty porch. The bed was comfy and we found everything we needed in the house - and everything worked well with our daughter who loved running around the fenced yard. Great place if you're looking to have the conveniences of home in walking distance to Jamestown!

The setting and charm of this cottage made for one of my best vacations in many years! It was like stepping back in time. The cottage is set on a nice quiet street so if you seek peace and relaxation, you'll find it here. Yet it is a short walk to the bay and even the restaurants on Narragansett Ave. I loved all the character in the place. Jamestown itself is a gem and so perfectly situated to enjoy all the beautiful of the RI coast. Just fabulous! I hope to stay here again in the future.
