In Crystal River, there are plenty of things to do for the whole family, including world-class flats fishing in clear waters for red fish, trout, Spanish mackerel, cobia, and tarpon. Crystal River offers one of the few remaining areas to scallop in Florida during the summer. You can catch freshwater bass and trap blue crabs off the dock, or look for manatees and dolphins. Offshore, there is terrific shallow and deepwater grouper fishing. Within a short drive, there is a mall with a multiplex movie theater; restaurants and shopping in historic downtown Crystal River; kayaking; Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park; Crystal River Archaeological State Park; walking and bike trails; scuba diving; and swimming with the manatees. Plan a day trip to any of the nine state parks within 50 miles or work on your back swing at one of the 12 nearby golf courses. Please feel free to contact us if you any questions or comments.

Why the Owner Chose Crystal River
We chose Crystal River because we loved coming here for many years before we could get our own place. It is always a thrill to watch the manatees, dolphins, pelicans, and eagles no matter how many times we have seen them. There is nothing to compare to the fishing and boating in the area, and in the summer, it is one of the last places in Florida where you can catch live scallops. We hope you enjoy the "Nature Coast" area as much as we do.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Sherri and I have stayed in many fine hotels and luxury vacation rentals over the years. At one point, we started to make a list of our likes and dislikes. We created the Chart House with those ideas in mind. For example, we furnished the house with top-quality beds, mattresses, sheets, comforters, and furniture. And not furniture from a garage sale or thrift store; no, everything is new and in great shape or it is replaced. The kitchen is equipped with all the items you would find in your own kitchen, including quality knives, flatware, appliances, plates, wine glasses, napkins, towels, pots and pans, soap, detergent, and spices — everything you would need. There is a washer and dryer, irons, an ironing board, and bathroom supplies if you forget something. We do not want you running to the store; we want you to enjoy yourselves and come back for many years. We recently added new decks, gas grills, flat-screen televisions, cable, Wi-Fi, free long distance phone calls, gas cookers, a fire pit, new lighting, free kayaks to use, and new outdoor seating. We have a maintenance team that keeps everything in tip top shape all year long. There is parking for several cars and at least 2 to 3 boat trailers. The backyard is fenced for the safety of your children and dogs. The porches and deck areas are screened with a special fine mesh to keep even the smallest bug out. We pride ourselves in taking care of the tiniest detail and personally inspect the home frequently. You can reach Crystal, our very capable property manager, toll-free at 800-814-1132 x 222, and she will assist you in any way possible.
Owner's Map of Crystal River
Sherri and Doug live in Ocala, a short 45-minute drive to Crystal River. "We really enjoy the small-town feeling in Crystal River and the natural setting along the beautiful Gulf Coast. Crystal River has the very unique combination of the fresh water bay and springs and the Gulf of Mexico just a short distance away. The Chart House is perfectly situated halfway between the two. You won't find any high-rise condos here in one of the last remaining natural areas of Florida. Yet Crystal River offers all the modern conveniences of shopping, restaurants, supermarkets, movie theatres, a mall, unique shops in the historic district, and more. It has it all."

I wouldn’t want to be locked up in a house during a rain storm anywhere else. The dock is full of cute little crabs and turtles. We caught like 10 a day!

This is an amazing set up and I love all the things that have been done to make this an amazing vacation place. Thank you for making this such a nice place for us to spend time with our friends and family. We had a great weekend. I recommend Crystal River to any family or individual. There were so many manatees and other animals. We had a great time.

Best part was our two dogs could enjoy the yard and not have to be boarded at vet. They are true boating dogs and just want to load up and go. Thank you for being a dog friendly location. We will definitely return. The convenience of the dock was great – a screened porch and grill made this location a real home away from home. This neighborhood is very quiet and conducive to relaxation. Hope to enjoy the home again soon. Rode out to the channel to take photos Thanksgiving night of the sunset

This has been a really fun 4th of July weekend. I really enjoyed going swimming in the spring. It was really fun watching all the people set off their fireworks. On the 3rd we went scalloping and today I learned how to shuck them. It was so nice coming back to a comfy, relaxed, and calm environment. It’s so much better than any hotel I’ve ever been to. It’s like a home away from home that’s actually enjoyable to come back to after a long day. We just really enjoyed our stay here. Thank you

We came to see the manatees, which were amazing creatures. Gentle giants to be sure. It was extremely cold that day (51° H) while we were out. It was really nice to know we were coming back to a clean, comfortable, lovely décor and relaxing place. Thank you. It is very nice to know you can feel comfortable away from home.

My boyfriend and I recently stayed in this amazing home over Veterans’ Day weekend, and we were not disappointed. Everything from the luxury furniture to the fully furnished kitchen was convenient, homey and enjoyable. We spent mornings on our private, screened patio and snuggled up on the cushioned couch at night in front of the HD television in the living room. We made full use of the many pots and pans, and we managed to cook several breakfasts and dinners as easily as we would have at home. There was even a coffee maker to fuel my boyfriend's caffeine addiction in the mornings. Everything was clean and very well maintained, and the pictures of the well-lit rooms and comfortable furniture don't hold a candle to the real thing. One evening, we joined our neighbors in sitting at the fire pit outside, keeping warm in the brisk November air. At night, the stars shone down on the lightly splashing water, and in the daytime, we watched various marine life and boats cruise gently through the canal. There were two new kayaks to use, and the house is close to a beautiful walking trail through an archeological site nearby. Each suite in the house has a boat dock, and though we did not have a boat to bring, we watched our upstairs neighbors easily load up their boat to go fishing every morning. Our nights were quiet and peaceful, and it was calming being so close to the water. Thank you, Doug and Sherri, for an amazing, relaxing weekend. If you are looking for a place to stay in Crystal River, you've found it right here.
