Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2007
Since moving to Canada in 2007 from Britain, we wanted to build the perfect mountain getaway - somewhere we would want to stay in on vacation. We've achieved that - and more! After the hustle and bustle of corporate life in London, mountain living is great! We have not yet found that we want to stop smiling!
Why the Owner Chose Golden
First we had to find, the perfect place in the Blaeberry. We then built the 1200 sq ft log lodge, on the land where we live. The lodge is close enough to the house for us to provide a great service, but far enough away for you to have complete privacy. We positioned the lodge so you can see the fantastic mountain scenery from the deck area. You can sit and relax on the deck or in the hot tub with fabulous views, especially the strong and imposing stance of Goat Mountain!
The Unique Benefits of this Lodge
Surrounded by mountain views, what more can you want with life! If its a tough day, all you need to do is look out the window!

Thanks so much for a great, relaxing and fun filled week. We had great skiing at Kicking Horse, Revelstoke & Panorama. We enjoyed the wolf center too. Your hospitality was truly a notch above. The wine and eggs were wonderful. The hot tub was great. We could not imagine a better week. Thanks again for everything.

Thank you for the beautiful cabin and wonderful hospitality. The cabin was the perfect getaway for a group of friends. Your dinner recommendation (Eleven22) was AMAZING. We had a great time, thanks again for the complimentary wine and freshest eggs from your own chickens. We'd love to come again. Happy New Year!

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your wonderful cabin. After spending several active days exploring the National Parks, it was a wonderful surprise to arrive to such deluxe accommodation to rest our weary legs and relax in front of the fire and in the hot tub. We only wish we could stay longer. We hope to be back through and will recommend to friends and family. Many thanks.

We had an amazing stay at your lodge. The lodge was extremely warm, comfortable and relaxing. Karen, what a fab chef you are and Peter wasn't too bad neither (lol) ! And what a crack after dinner, you two guys are great company for being English!! No, all joking aside, we really enjoyed our stay. Thanks from the Mad Scots!

We arrived when it was dark, so couldn't see much of the scenery. When my husband woke up in the morning, all I heard is "wow" as he was able to see the incredible views all around us. We spend a couple of days at Kicking Horse, then went to Revelstoke and stayed before returning here. In retrospect it would have been easy enough to drive there and back in a day. We were all so happy to return to Kicking Horse Kabins and sink into the divinely comfortable beds. We arrived to some of Karen's delicious baked bread. Karen & Peter have thought of everything, from the luxurious robes, slippers and boot drier, to the biggest hot tub we have ever used. We have been fortunate to ski at resorts throughout North America, but have never been treated to such hospitality as we experienced at Kicking Horse Kabins!

Our stay in your cabin was just as perfect as it can be! Just a short story what happened before we arrived at your beautiful place! It started on Wednesday morning at dusk, we had to get up early to start our trek to the hut in Jasper NP. This is a back country hut set up by the Alpine club of Canada. The only way to reach this hut in wintertime is by ski touring. It's roughly a 10 hour trip, so you have to start early to reach the hut before dark....Whilst still celebrating our hike, Stijn got down on his knees and proposed to marry! The next day, it took us 7 hours to descend. I still had a big smile on my face, but my body was exhausted. The only thing I could think of is that we needed a really nice place to stay now, but we didn't book anything (or that is what I thought!). Stijn drove us to your 'hut' that he had arranged as a surprise............with the music playing and the appetizers he had arranged we couldn't dream of a better place to recover. Many thanks.

The L**ws say thanks for a lovely home and wonderful hospitality. You have been a blessing to us. The problem was the beds were so comfortable that we all had a hard time getting up! :-)

This is our third time here and we will keep coming back because we love it so much. All the extra added touches like wine, an ipod docking station and housecoats are great additions to the rest of what the cabin has to offer - including the comfiest beds and a big hot tub. We love Kicking Horse so it's great to have a really nice place to stay when we come snowboarding. Thanks!!!
