We had a group of 8 adults and 6 children (all kids were under the age of 8), and we had a fantastic time at the house. Everything at the house was exactly as it was advertised, plus some. The kids had numerous movies and video games to choose from, and they loved the loft area. They also had a great time fishing. Steve was a fantastic resource as he helped us with fishing poles and even helped jump-start a car on the day of our return trip. I would highly recommend this home for all ages.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

I loved the view. There were so many of us all the beds were full so my husband and i got the room/office on the very top floor which turned out to be perfect we woke up to the best view in the house. Steve & Amanda truely thought of everything! Games, toys for the kids, and even an extra pack n play for the baby that came in handy. Thank you so much! Our annual family vacation has had us bouncing around from hotel to hotel since we had outgrown most cabins and rental homes in the Dells a few years ago. There are a lot of us - with adults and kids ages 5 months to 18 years - so we need a ton of room and fun things to do for all ages! Well, we've finally found a home! The Neptune had just enough space for all of our families and the property and lake were prefect for our kids - big and small! The quiet cove lake access and private beach area were so awesome; the kids spent almost the entire weekend building sand castles, jumping off the docks and fishing. The adults spent the entire weekend relaxing by the beach, swimming, sitting by the fire pit, grilling out and enjoying each other's company. It was really the perfect vacation! We found Steve and Amanda to be very easy to work with throughout the entire process - booking to check out. There was one point on Friday evening when staring at the rental boats on our docks got the best of the men so we called Amanda to see if she could arrange a last minute rental for us. Let's just say by 10am the next morning they were touring the lake in a 12 passenger pontoon! That's service! I would highly recommend the Neptune for so many reasons; the beauty of the property, they cleanliness of the home, the space and the lake. I would also, recommend a boat rental and touring the beautiful, quiet lake and a possible stop at the tiki bar! Thanks again for a vacation to remember! Oh, and did I mention.... We returned from the lake on Sunday and had it booked for next year by Tuesday night? :) AngieRecommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Our family just returned from our stay at the Neptune. It was everything & more than expected. The house is gorgeous with lots of room for us all. Steve & Amanda were so helpful & accomodating! They made us feel right at home. There was something for everyone! We are planning our trip for next year & can't wait to go back!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

My mother-in-law decided to forgo Christmas gifts and host a lake house retreat for our extended family. We were lucky enough to book Neptune for 4 nights in the middle of July. We had exactly 16 people (ages 6-65) with us and there was plenty of room for everyone. We celebrated with large family meals in the beautiful kitchen, played games and enjoyed swimming off the dock. Everyone enjoyed the deer that visited every night to eat apples from the tree in front of the house. Amanda was especially helpful, and we appreciated her stopping by to see if there was anything we needed. She took good care of us! We are already looking forward to our new family tradition at Neptune.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

This house was amazing!! Our family and friends had the greatest week ever, no joke!! The house is unbelievable, from decor to space and comfort. You have plenty of room to be together in groups or be alone and relax. The pontoon boat was great as well and best idea ever! The lake is beautiful and the beaches are a blast! Steve is very easy going and a great host-Thanks for the ice!!! We all want to plan the same trip next year we had such a great time. Our kids from ages 3-11 had the best time and we didn't have to go anywhere else to entertain them! Thanks again Steve!!!!!!!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We had a wonderful vacation in Neptune. This home makes an ideal vacation get away. Architecture is fentastic, every detail has been very meticuluosly designed and maintained. One in particular is the ceiling fans in the living area. Our kids had a blast. Picture and website say a lot but you have to visit to believe this million dolar home, it is way beyond expectations. Steve and family take very good care of the renters. We will be going back soon.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway.

Steve was delightful to work with and very helpful. He gave us a full tour when we arrived, we started in the kichen and when I saw a BIG drawer entirely filled with any kind of spice you could possibly need I knew this house had everything! The kitchen is fabulous, the sun room gorgous (complete with binoculars to look out at the lake), and the master bedroom and bath beyond belief and that is just the first floor. Every light switch has a riostat, a very nice feature. We were there for a long weekend family gathering and there was plenty of room for all of us. For my Mom and I the 3 flights of stairs were a bit much, but we mainly stayed on the first floor which has everything we needed. The lower level rec room and bar area was great for the young adults. There are TV's everywhere so it did not matter where you were in the house there was TV access plus an entire house sound system. The photos in the listing cannot possibly do this house justice. The only thing missing that we would have liked is a hot tub. It is a very well maintained property with more amenites than I have space to write about. I would definately recommend this house to anyone wanting a wonderful getaway. I am unable to recommend community activities as we did not leave the house. We did all of our own cooking, which is half the fun to be gathered together in the kitchen. It was a great family outing with LOTS of fun and laughter. There are very few things in life that ever live up to the hype! When my Wife and I walked into this house for the first time it exceeded any and all hopes we had. We planned a very special getaway to celebrate our five year anniversary with some of our dearest friends and what helped put it over the top was this house. Are their other places in Iowa to go and have a good time? Maybe. But I would say that the thing that makes this home the best spot to go in Iowa is the attiude of the property owners. They made us feel as though we owned the house. They went above and beyond excellent service to make sure that we enjoyed our time. Honestly for my wife and I, they have become our friends, and I know they will make you feel the same way. My one piece of advice don't be afraid to ask if they can make something happen to make your experience unforgettable. Because chances are they can!Did you find this review helpful?
