Hi Leslie, I'd like to thank you for the great rental on Akers Pond. It rained the whole time we were there, but because we had a nice warm dry house to come home to, we were able to kayak every day. We kayaked to Sturtevant Pond from the Magalloway River, Scott's Bog in the Connecticut lakes region, and finally Leonard's Pond via the Magalloway River. It was fantastic and we saw lots of wild life. We even had a family of otters follow us for a while. It was hilarious. Those otters are quite the characters! We had such a great time! I hope the house will be available next year, same season. Thanks againDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We found this cabin on VRBO and stayed here for a week in June. It was so much fun and relaxing that we have now stayed here 3 times and are already scheduling our Oct 2012 trip for 10 days. We have stayed in Pittsburg, NH on Back Lake many times and were fortunate to find Errol on Akers pond. Less people/congestion and the pond has great fishing. We fly fish on the Androscoggin, Clear Stream, Long Pond and drive to Pittsburg to fish Perry Stream, Indian Stream and the Connecticut River. The grouse hunting in the area is also fantastic. There is so much to do in this area and Berlin/Colebrook/Rangley Lakes/Bethel Maine are all close. Also, our Brittany, Belle, loved sitting on the back yard and watching the squirrels! This cabin is the best. Harry, Marion and BelleRecommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

Really enjoyed our time at this cabin. We fished a lot from the dock and from the canoe. The kids also swam in the pond. Sat outside at night and enjoyed the campfire. Went to the Balsalms Resort and looked around and hiked up to Table Rock. We saw one moose on Route 16 just before dark. Also on a rainy day we enjoyed rafting/kayaking through the Class II rapids in town through Northern Waters Outfitters. Also met the cabin owner's Mom - She runs the gift store Knot Just Logs in town. A real treasure is the Childrens Pond in town - it is small but stocked with lots of small fish (catch and release). Cabin is very clean and roomy.Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We had a wonderful stay in Dan and Leslie's beautiful home on Akers Pond. The house exceeded our expectations. It was perfect for 2 adults, a toddler and 2 dogs. If you are looking for a comfortable, well designed home right on the water then this is your place. I highly suggest renting from Dan and Leslie and we hope to stay there again in the futureRecommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

My husband and I stayed at the house in January of 2010, and loved the place. I am an avid outdoors woman, snowshoed across the lake, perfect location for x-country skiing too! The house had everything we needed, and was cozy and warm. We enjoyed drinks and snacks at Log Haven Restaurant, can't wait to get back this winter!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

WE SPENT 4 WONDERFUL DAYS IN AUGUST IN THIS DELIGHTFUL COTTAGE, WENT SWIMMING, FISHING AND KYAKING, SAW THE LOONS EACH DAY, THE COTTAGE WAS DECORATED SO WELL, LOVELY MAIN BEDROOM AMD GOOD SIZE BATHROOM. I LIKED THE SPLIT LEVEL FOR PRIVACY. VERY QUIET AREA. WE ENJOYED OUR CAMPFIRE EVERY NIGHT. I CERTAINLY HOPE WE CAN COME AGAIN NEXT YEAR. THIS POND BRINGS BACK A LOT OF MEMORYS FOR MY BROTHER AND MYSELF BECAUSE MY PARENTS ALWAYS RENTED A CAMP ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE LAKE. I RENTED IT SO WE COULD BRING HER UP TO ENJOY BUT SHE PASSED AWAY IN JUNE. SHE WOULD HAVE LIKED ALL THE MODERN COVIENCES IN YOUR CAMP COMPARED TO WHEN WE VACATIONED THERE IN THE 50'S THERE WAS A LOT TO SEEAND DO. WE WENT BERRY PICKING, WENT TO THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WATERFALLS AND EVEN HAD LUNCHEON BUFFET AT THE BALSAMS. THAT WAS AN EXPERIENCE, SUCH WONDERFUL FOODS AND DESSERTS. WORTH THE TRIPRecommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, people with disabilities, girls getaway.

We had a wonderful time staying here. The cabin is beautifully decorated and in a wonderful location - right on the lake which was frozen over during our stay so the kids enjoyed sledding down the hill onto the ice! Dan & Leslie (& their family!) were so friendly and it was a great, relaxing getaway for us all.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4

We just got back from our vacation in Errol. This newly renovated waterfront home was beautiful and tastefully decorated. The house is very clean & tidy. Everything we needed to prepare meals was there. Internet access via free Wi-fi was a bonus to check e-mails and send pics home. The kids had a blast jumping off the dock & swimming & fishing. For those of you who enjoy fishing, there are some nice bass in Akers Pond. We caught several in the the 2-3 pound range and my 10 yr old daughter caught a 7lb 2oz largemouth. The pond is also stocked with rainbow trout. I highly recommend this vacation home & we will be returning in the future.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 5/5
