Our vacation property is situated on the Hamilton Branch, the Best fishing on the Lake. You will have direct access to the River Hamilton Branch on our private sloping trail. The private boat launch is also available to our guests. You may also use the Big Springs picnic area, for fishing and swimming.
The property is fenced for your privacy and security for those with children. Access to the cabin is by stairs.The cabin is above our garage, with private access, at the back of the property. The view is of the lovely gardens and the biggest trees you have ever seen.
The cabin has an open kitchen and living area. There are 2 bedrooms, 1 master with 1 retreat. The retreat is attached to the master with french doors and curtained for your privacy, also with private access. There is a trundle bed in the living area, that will sleep 2. The decor is beautiful with hard wood floors in the living area and granite counters in the kitchen. The bedrooms are carpeted. There is a cute little propane fire place to keep you warm. The cabin is warmly furnished with a fishing theme. We provide bed linens and towels. The kitchen is stocked with cookware and accessories.
We have a grassy area on the property, where we picnic, play croquet, and rest in the hammock. There is also a propane barbecue available for your use.
We have been fishing, hunting and shopping in the Lake Almanor area for over 25 years. We are fortunate to be able to live in this beautiful Great Outdoors. (Yes we have the movie too).
We can guide you to the best fishing on the lake for fly fishing or conventional fishing. Also during the fall, deer hunting, bow or rifle. There are also plenty of outdoor activities like hiking or biking and plenty to see in this beautiful Lake Almanor Basin and The Great Indian Valley.
There is much to do if you like or much resting to do if you need. We look forward to meeting you. I am sure you will have a wonderful, relaxing time in our cozy RETREAT.

What a treat it was to stay in a nicely appointed two bedroom home in a quiet rural neighborhood. We slept very well, dined on the deck under the trees each morning, and looked forward to hanging out each evening after sightseeing Mt Lassen during the days. Our last stay in Chester was at the cute Antlers Motel. However since we were staying longer we were delighted to find such a sweet homey water-side place removed from the hustle bustle of downtown Chester. The total atmosphere was even better than the photos since you can't capture scenery, quiet, and privacy in photos. If you plan to do a lot of cooking, you might ask what is provided and bring a few dishes if desired. We dined out most nights. The owner was very responsive by phone when we needed help and recommendations. I will happily recommend this retreat to my friends, and we look forward to coming back the next time we are in the area.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Had a wonderful time with my family and friends. Cabin was secluded, clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Susan took care of all of our questions and any issues we had. Lake was a short two minute walk away....best part is that it was a private Beach which was usually spartan ! Best value on the lake !Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+.
