Our Family stay during Labor Day weekend, the cabin was really clean and organized, they have all you need on kitchen, plenty of towels and linens. Air conditioning is free to adjust so each floor can be as cold or warm as you want. Hot tub amaizing. The area have a lot of recreation options, we suggest the Blue Ridge Scenic trip on Train. Our family spend three days there and we got some rest and a lot of fun! You have to try this place!

The cabin is exactly as described and was very clean and extremely comfortable. The hot tub was great and was used every night. We had coffee every morning on the back porch and used the grill almost daily. We did note that the gutters on the back porch needed cleaning as torrential rains caused the gutters to overflow and flood the area near the hot tub. We would highly recommend this cabin.

Last minute get-a-way
Last minute get-a-way
My wife and I, another couple and a female friend (all mid 60's-early 70's) made a spur of the moment decision to get away for a couple of days. Our female friend lost her husband in April so we thought a couple of days retreat to the N. GA mountains would be nice. Very easy to arrange a last minute booking and all questions were answered promptly. The 3 bedrooms, each on a separate level worked well for our group. The cabin was comfortable and clean with all amenities and very easy to get to. Would certainly consider a return trip.

Besides the awesome time we had in the area, this cabin was nice as well. The owners are very easy to deal with and sent us instructions on everything we needed to do with the cabin. The inside is all wood which has that cozy feeling. The hot tub was nice but it is outside on the lower level so we met one or two interesting spiders but it wasn't bad. The beds are large and very comfy but not lavish. In this area I would have to ask for better linens and bed spreads as our sheets constantly came off and we were cold a lot. The decor is subtle with cute figurines in places. All your kitchen amenities were in place except for the small things like, dish soap, toilet paper, dish washer detergent and laundry soap. These things we had to run out and buy immediately. But the kitchen was new and inviting. My son and husband spent hours by the campfire which was perfectly placed a few yards from the front door. My girls liked this so they weren't too scared to be far from the cabin at night. The cabin is set up so that three separate families have their own area to be in and are not crowded on each other which is wonderful. LOVE the three bathrooms and how big they all were. The washer and dryer is new and worked wonderfully for the 5 of us. Thanks again we had a great time!

Great location for a mom's weekend away
Great location for a mom's weekend away
The 6 of us, all mom's getting away from it all, enjoyed our 2 nights at the cabin. It was well appointed, the beds were comfy and since it was only a short drive to the town, it made our ritual of a day shopping very easy. We will definitely visit Black Bear Lodge again.

Great week in the mountains
Great week in the mountains
We had an excellent week staying at Black Bear Lodge. The owners were accessible for any questions and have kept their home in brand new condition. The beds in all three bedrooms were extremely comfortable and the kids loved staying there as well. The hot tub was awesome after our long days out and we enjoyed the fire pit at night for roasted marshmallows and smores. I look forward to going back up to the mountains and will stay here again. The cabin is central to a lot of the area attractions and highlights. I highly recommend staying here

I have just returned from a wonderful month long vacation at this great cabin in the mountains. I was pleasantly surprised upon arriving. Everything was as listed, all was clean and there was lots of room for my extended family to visit. My husband and I especially appreciated this cabin's location. Within easy driving distance were waterfalls, state parks, hiking trails, beautiful lakes, fishing, festivals, flea markets, etc. We had a great month just enjoying the area. Our favorite town was Blairsville with Cook;s Country Kitchen restaurant for Sunday lunch. Our family came to visit and off we went for kayaking and tubing. The owners were great to work with. Terri Lynn answered all our questions and offered great advice. We were grateful that we could bring our two dogs. One is quite old and doesn't board well anymore. This is a wonderful family cabin that I am happy to recommend.

The Black Bear Lodge is a home away from home. The cabin was absolutely wonderful. There was plenty of room for everyone which included 6 adults. It was the perfect get away for the new years holiday. I had everything we needed and was very easy to find. It was really relaxing, and a lot of fun. We went horse back riding at a near by stable. We enjoyed the hot tub, and outdoor fire pit. The place is pet friendly. We will definitely return, we already have plans to come back for new years 2010.

About the owner: Our family just enjoys these North Georgia Mountains and the outdoors.
Why the Owner Chose Blue Ridge:
We chose this area because it is only hours away from our home in Florida, yet it is far enough away from the everyday crazy city life. It is very easy to get to and not far from 2 major airports (Atlanta and Chattanooga), yet remote enough. We enjoy going to the cabin as it really helps to relax and rejuvenate us, along with giving us the family time that we enjoy and cherish so much.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
There is so much to do in the Blue Ridge/ Blairsville area. We enjoy just taking our son and dog for walks through the woods outside our back doors. Roasting marshmallows on the open fire-pit or just sitting around the outdoors campfire watching the amazing stars above. From the porch we enjoy watching the deer and animals feeding in the back yard, going to one of the near by lakes like Lake Blue Ridge or lake Nottley, which are both with in 5 minutes of the cabin. There you can rent a boat, swim or just play down at the lake. Easy access to the main highway is another plus. You can enjoy many outdoor activities such as the many festivals in the parks or take the scenic train ride from down town Blue Ridge. If golf is you thing that this is the place to play. One thing that is a must on the list is the tubing down the river in the summertime. We also enjoy going horseback riding at one of the local riding stables or going to the riding club just down the street fro the cabin. No matter what you enjoy doing there is something for everyone.
