Like new 2,000 sq ft, 3 bedroom home is located on the Fox River where you can swim, water ski, fish, have campfires and relax. There is a large full kitchen or charcoal grill so you can prepare your own meals and we have a separate dining room or you can eat outside on the new deck. The living room is 30ft x 20ft with a newer big screen TV, VCR/DVD player and satellite tv with comfortable seating for at least 8 people. There's plenty of room for tables to do crafts and plenty of windows for natural light. The views from the living room are spectacular and it is common to see cranes and bald eagles here. If you like to hunt there is public hunting land nearby or you can go duck hunting on site. There are hiking trails and natural areas for bird watching throughout Marquette County. We are also on one of the many bike routes in the area.
You have your own private area on the river with a pier to dock the boat, a picnic table, and firepit (with free firewood!). We have an indoor crate and an outdoor, covered dog kennel for your pet. For the kids there is a play area with sandbox, swings, slide and treehouse and other outdoor games to use. We also have a selection of inside games, puzzles, legos and movies to watch.
The hill behind the house makes a great sledding hill in the winter. We are between Montello and the Princeton/Green Lake area where there are plenty of antique and speciality shops and the largest flea market in the state. Come enjoy a relaxing week or weekend in the country.

No extra cleaning fees are charged, $200 damage deposit required.

Why the Owner Chose Montello
This is a peaceful area with great fishing and wildlife. Only 2 hours from Milwaukee, a little over an hour from Madison and about 3 hours from the Chicago area. There are a lot of things to do in this area such as hiking trails and natural areas. This is a great vacation getaway for the whole family!

We rented the house for Labor Day 2011 the house is very well maintained and is very clean!! The description of the house was very accurate the owners they make you feel like it's your house they don't check on you you can also buy beautiful cards handmade by Dana we loved the house and we hope to get back next year i really recommend this house its worth it!!!

The place was great, plenty of room for 9 people. Steve was very helpful with things to do around the area, like grocery stores and beaches. We caught alot of fish and my grandkids loved catching the big ones. Not very good for swimming, too mucky, but we all had a great time. It was quite a walk down to the water, but it was good excercise. Yes I would recommend this place.

SPECTACULAR vacation house in a beautiful part of WI! Exceptionally clean and comfortable for my family of seven including a teenager, 4 yr. & 18 mo. old plus in-laws. Beautiful views of the water and countless fun activities on site and in the surrounding areas. We enjoyed swimming, fishing, canoeing, boating, picnics, fire pits, play area, indoor/outdoor games, shopping, sightseeing, etc. We saw lots of amazing wildlife i.e. eagles, cranes, all kinds of interesting birds including hummingbirds, tons of deer including a big buck on a nearby road, etc. The owners are extremely friendly & helpful! We had a great time tubing and water skiing with Steve. A phenomenal value with SO MUCH included!! The Fox River was very calm and peaceful without a very strong current which is one reason it felt more like a lake @ times. Driving distance to lots of great little towns and nearby lakes. Would highly recommend The Pizza Factory in Princeton..delicious! The nearby rustic road was a beautiful drive. It really felt like we were way up North while just two hours from home. Can't say enough good things about this property! The pictures and descriptions were very accurate. Would highly recommend this rental! We will definitely be going back in the future!

We had a family get together over the weekend and would highly recommend this house. It has great views, fun time on the water, very neat and tidy. The upstairs family room was very comfortable and had beautiful views of the river. Steve and Dana were easy to work with-they even supplied the salt and pepper that we forgot to bring. We had a great time and hope to return.

i found this place to haver a dinner party at, the location is beautiful, the house is beautiful. though we only stayed one night, i'm sure i will be coming back with family and friends, there is plenty of room for multiple families and what a great deal!! i travel a lot and stay in rentals and this was a great value. the upstairs living room is awesome! seating for many and a big beautiful picture window over looking the river. the pictures are accurate, but it's much more beautiful when you get there. steve the owner was really nice, and really helpful. a special thank you to alexis and snowflake for being great hostesses

We really enjoyed our stay at the Riverview Retreat. The home was beautiful, clean and well maintained. The location was convenient as we could get to a number of different lakes by river or by car. There were a lot of activities in the area as well as restaurants for when we chose not to cook at the home. When we did cook at the home there was everything we needed from pots/pans, utensils, dinnerware and silverware. We didn't have to bring a thing. Towels were also included which was nice. They provided an indoor and outdoor kennel for our dogs as well. That was a nice touch. Great place to stay and relax - I would highly recommend this home.

My family absolutely LOVED this property. We had our 3 children ranging from 4 up to 9 as well as our 2 dogs who adored being able to jump in the river off the pier and swim with the kids. The house was amazingly beautiful as well as well kept. Even though it rained 4 days, we still had plenty of room to do crafts and activities in the house as well as going into the 2 small towns nearby and finding some fun things to do there as well. The owners are extremely knowledgeable as well as helpful in every way. Myself, my husband, and our children would recommend this property to ANYONE for an escape from reality. We are already planning to go back for a long weekend this fall!!!

This is a beautiful property. It has a gorgeous view of the lake! The house is spacious with a very large kitchen that is completely up-to-date and has everything you need. Everything is very clean, and the beds are comfortable. This is a wonderful place for a family and also for a "girlfriend-get-away". It's perfect for a scrapbook or quilting weekend, since the upstairs has tables, great lighting and a view of the lake. After spending a long weekend at the Riverview Retreat, I highly recommend it!
