  Ohana House in South Haven, MI has all the amenities a family could ask for during a vacation on beautiful Lake Michigan! Bunk beds for the kids/grandkids; 4 houses from the beach; family park 1 block away; and a lovely walk to downtown South Haven with novelty shops, bakeries, mulitple choices of food! Owners are family friendly and helpful. You'll want to rent Ohana House for your lakeside vacation!

  Our family has stayed at his beautiful vacation home for the past 6 summers. It is in a great location. An easy walk to the beach and great view of the sunset. The house is clean and well kept. The owners have always been very accomodating. We will be returning again this summe.r

  I cannot tell you how much our whole family (ages 63 to 7 months) enjoyed our stay at the Ohana House. You have thought of everything, and made sure that your guests not only have what they need, but also feel at home. The house was perfect - updated, open, and clean. The location was also perfect - a short walk to the magnificent beach (steps are involved). A wonderful children's playground is on the next block. And it's just a little longer walk to the pier and to the downtown area. While we were there, a car drove up to ask how we liked our stay because they were thinking of renting the next year. We wanted to tell them it was awful so we didn't spread the word around too much how great it was, but we did tell them it was wonderful. Even my 3 year old grandson said, "I 'wike' it here." And my 8 year old granddaughter said, "We have to do this again." Alas, though, we cannot do it again because we recently bought our own vacation home on a lake. As a matter of fact, we are furnishing our vacation home with the Ohana House in mind - lots of hooks for towels, jackets, and clothes - mirrors in every room in case the bathrooms were occupied - and every pot, pan, dish, glass and gadget you can imagine. I was surprised to read a review stating they were disappointed because there was no garage to use. The listing never mentions there would be a garage available, so I did not assume there would be. I specifically asked the owner about the garage and beach toys since they weren't listed. We brought our own toys and made arrangements to lock and cover our outdoor equipment. Also, when we arrived, previous renters had destroyed the outdoor umbrella by not taking it down during high winds. When we called the owner, their son brought us a brand new one the next day (nice young man). In addition, we did reserve a week in 2011, after advising the owner we were in the process of looking for our own vacation home. She told me what the procedure and deadline would be for cancellation, and when we did purchase our home, we received our refund as promised. You cannot go wrong with Ohana. Aloha!

  The location is awesome--close to the beach and the kids playground. House is nice, too. But, there was no access to the garage so made storage of bikes and beach equipment tricky. Had to store them in our cars. Had problems with the refrigerator/freezer from day one and did not get a prompt response from owner. Owner replaced refrigerator but we lost some of our food. Owner was only willing to reimburse us for half of what we lost. While we were negotiating reimbursement for the lost food, owner advised they may not give back our security deposit as they thought we violated our contract by having more kids in home. We had to prove how many kids each family had to get our full security deposit back. Our group has been renting homes in South Haven for several years in a row and never had an experience like this with an owner.
